El Comal

If you are visiting Burnaby Lake, you should consider grabbing lunch or dinner. El Comal is a 2 minute drive from the lake. Authentic food, great flavor and generous portions at a reasonable price.

Had the burrito combo with a coke, with tip it only cost $20. So much food and the favour was on point! Will absolutely come back here again and try something else on the menu.

Chicken burrito was great. Service was very friendly and stayed late for us.

Great food and quick service, perfect spot for lunch on a time crunch

Absolutely amazing for what it is - an authentic "fast food" spot for Mexican cuisine. Don't expect a trendy vibe nor top notch service - just delicious, authentic, freshly made food. Limited (uncomfortable) seating, but cool Mexican decor and once again, amazing Mexican food. Prices not cheap, but fair. Hidden gem!!

The most delicious and pretty tacos from a hidden industrial area gem.

I am so happy to have found this place. Their food is fresh, flavourful, and reasonably priced. The staff are also friendly and patient with new customers. They have a great selection of products which you can take home with you like queso fresco, salsa, tomatillo salsa, frozen tortillas and tamales. I didn't get to check out their entire selection as I was in a bit of a rush. But I will be coming here for lunch, groceries and to pick up snacks when I am expecting guests. If you haven't been, I strongly encourage you to come check out this place!

Really good food!! Very flavourful and reasonably priced. Their house made tortilla chips are excellent!!! 🌮🌮🌮 Tried the enchiladas, burrito and chimichanga and I can't say which was my favourite as they all were so good!! Will definitely be going back.

Great, friendly service and a consistent supply of products that are otherwise hard to find. We come here all the time to buy fresh tortillas at a great price, and always leave with more stuff than we planned. Manager goes out of her way to make sure customers leave happy. They treat us like valued customers even though we spend maybe ten or fifteen bucks at a time here.

Ordered El Comal for a 60-person event, and it was super delicious. All our guests were impressed with the flavors. It was super easy to ordered and the staff is very friendly.

Very good food! Placed an order for 3 beef taco combos and was ready fairly quickly. Taco were so good along with the rice/bean sides. Great sauces too!

They have the BEST fresh corn tortillas in the city! They were the best price I’ve seen and they were still warm when I bought them. Not to mention, they carry a variety of Mexican cheeses and homemade salsas. They also have BOMB tortilla chips that they make in house ☺ a good variety of canned foods and dried chilis. OHH and I almost forgot, they have TAMALES!!! TAMALES that you can heat up at home. Amazing. Also the lady who was the cashier was the sweetest lady ever, even though we didn’t know how to communicate properly but nonetheless she was a gem and definitely made my day. Everything is very well priced!

Hands down the most authentic Mexican food on this side of the border... Owned and operated by a Mexican family with Mexican staff so you know the menu is legit, store also carries a large selection of specialty Mexican food and drink if your looking for ingredients. A bit of an odd location and service can be slow when their busy, but 100% worth the wait; call ahead for take out orders if your tight for time. Staff are wonderful, always cheerful and helpful. I highly recommend the chorizo tacos!
