Great products and shopping experience.

I purchased a product from this company and the experience was discouraging and displeasing, to say the least.
The product I ordered (in my opinion), did not work properly. I contacted customer service and they recommended some trouble shooting techniques. I followed these without improvement. They then asked me to send them a video of the defect, so I did that as well. They then asked me to return the product to them for “quality control testing” (seems weird to me for a company that sells intimate toys, but I had spent $100 on a product so I wanted a resolution).
I tracked the shipping and when I still hadn’t been contacted by the company after the item had been in their possession for two weeks, I contacted them. The responded that they performed a quality control test and that there is nothing wrong with the product and that it would be back on the way to me. I told them that if this is the way the product is “supposed to work”, then I don’t want it back because it is poor quality.
They told me that it performs as expected and they aren’t offering a refund. I asked to speak to someone in management who called me quite promptly after my request. The gentleman in management was initially quite calm, polite, and professional.
I explained my experience and the manager asked me how I can expect them to offer a refund on a product that works “as expected”. Let me be clear, this is a motorized item that literally cuts out and dulls when any pressure is put on the item..it clearly does not work properly. I would also like to mention that my sister has the exact same product and hers works properly. He told me that they think I just don’t like the product, and that the company cannot “afford” to offer refunds to clients that are dissatisfied with their products. He also informed me that most clients who are displeased with their products are “grateful” that the company is willing to “cover the cost” of having the product looked at by their quality control team. He also informed me that he has spent “twenty minutes” on the phone with me and that “most clients are grateful” for this as well. He also informed me that they don’t make the product themselves so they cannot be responsible for displeasure…even though they sell the product. The example I provided is that if I purchase Cheerios from Costco and they’re poor quality cheerios, Costco takes them back…so what is the difference? He said that they would have to dispose of these products if they were returned and I responded that Costco would also have to dispose of the cheerios. But Costco actually priorities customer service, unlike this company.
He then offered me a discount on another product (LOLOLOL) to make it right - which I obviously denied.
All in all, no resolution was reached. He told me that they pride themselves on their customer service and this, to me, was a hilarious statement. They have my money with no intention of returning it and THAT is their priority - keeping that money. This phone call from management was intended to manipulate me into thinking this situation was handled appropriately, NOT to do the right thing. My hands were tied because they already had my $, and this company will take full advantage of that.
Poor quality products, management that only cares about making money.

XOX TOYS contacted me ~ 8 weeks after my initial contact with customer service to inform me that they’ve issued a full refund for this product as an apology. They also offered me a free “mystery box”, which I believe is valued around $60.
I’m aware that this company was not obligated to do this and is making an honest attempt to rectify the situation.
Much appreciated, and my star rating has gone from a 1 to a 4.
