I found just what I was looking for and more! They have an amazing selection of ingredients for Indian cooking as well as some frozen ready made foods. The service I received was excellent. I will be back for sure. I popped in quickly for some specific spices but will take a better look on my next visit. If following Google map directions, be aware that the entrance to the store is in the back lane, not on 3rd Street itself.

Great Lil store with lots of ethnic ingredients and spices.. Saves a long trip over town to get those.. Convenient and priced smart!

I always find exactly what I’m looking for here! The service is excellent by the store owner. You can find all kinds of indian and South Asian food. They don’t have any produce, but you can stock up on packaged food, spices, canned items, and freezer food.

Has dried spices and varieties of dals that you can find nowhere else in North Vancouver! An amazing shop.

One of the best Indian/Ismaili vroevry stores with the best selection of fresh, frozen and packaged foods. Definitely a hidden gem. I buy all my Indian ingredients here and honestly they have everything, better than a lot of shops even in Surrey. The owners are amazing people and always help out if Im looking for something specific. Priced well as well. I always recommend this shop to anyone I meet!

A hidden little gem in North Vancouver. I am all for supporting small family businesses and I have been shopping here forever! The owners are absolutely lovely. Don’t let the size fool you because this store has a huge inventory of goodies. Once you shop at S J Foods, you will return for sure.

My go to place for Indian cooking ingredients for over 30 years. This place is hard to find as the entrance is in an alley between 3rd and 4th, but you won't be disappointed when you get there. The owner is very helpful...give him the dish you want to create and he will select all the ingredients you need. He also stocks locally made Indian food. You won't be disappointed

Really nice place! Great selections of spicy foods. They helped me find a ton of spicy hot sauces.

I have shopped at SJ Foods for around 10 years. Their products and prices are both excellent. If there's ever been a problem the owner Mr Sadru has promptly resolved it. HR and his wife who run through place are both terrific people..SJ Foods remains my go-to place for ethnic south Asian grocery. Highly recommend.

After moving to the North Shore we had trouble find a place for fresh quality bulk spices. SJ Foods was well worth a visit. Not only do they have every specialty spice but everything you need for SouthEast Asian cooking... Frozen grated coconut, roti flour, locally produced chutneys and ghee...The owner was very helpful.

My favourite place to go for spices, dried beans, chutneys, samosas, rice, and more. Such friendly service too.

This is the place to go on the North Shore if you are craving East African food. Great frozen samosas and very indulgent snacks for you to ruin your diet plans. Really good people that run it as well.

A wonderful small grocer, specializing in South Asian and Caribbean foods. Run by a helpful couple, the store is cluttered in a way that leads to unexpected finds. This is the place for hard to get items. Entrance (and parking!) are in the alley.

Tricky to find. It really has it's store front and plenty of parking in the alley behind east 3rd. Best store on the North shore for Indian foods.
