Playa Negra Brewing Beachfront Hotel

I have been here 2 times, since there is a new management in the hotel, I can see a big improvement! Kind staff and beautiful room in front of the beach😍

Stayed here 2 nights during a super busy weekend in PV. Upon leaving I forgot my wallet in the room and it was found and returned by Montana *the owner within an hour!!! So greatful 💖

I've been a hotel guest for 5 weeks, I couldn't wish for better accommodation in Talamanca Puerto Limon/Puerto Viejo. The staff are very friendly. The beach is a very fine, deep black lava sand, phenomenal. good for bodysurfing,swimming and beginner surfing.best place in puerto viejo for a freshly brewed beer from montana the boss! love this place

Nice place across from the beach. Volunteers were helpful and friendly. There was always someone cleaning and ready to help with anything. The beer is very good quality and the overall experience was great. We all had a great time!!

We had a wonderful time at Kaya's Place! It was our first time visiting Puerto Viejo and the staff were so kind and welcoming. They gave us great recommendations for things to do. The center of town was only a few minute walk away, but we found ourselves staying at the hotel for dinner and drinks because it was so good and inexpensive! We definitely recommend trying the beer as well.

You'll Regret not staying here- I was blessed enough to have visited Puerto Viejo for two nights and chose Kaya's as my place for lodging. I made the perfect choice, especially as a solo traveller!! Everyone here are genuinely lovely, authentic, and welcoming. JT the owner and brewer has a micro-brewery that I had the pleasure of being invited to visit where he personally shared some of his intelligence on how beer brewing works (an invaluable experience). The rooms are comfortable accommodations with eclectic/rustic style. Beds are firm (you can decide if that what you like or not). Bathrooms are clean and functional. The restaurant is top notch in taste, variety of dishes and quality. Luis the bartender is an amazingly funny, and well-rounded individual who acts as a concierge voluntarily to ensure your stay is comfortable. Crystal is the coolest chick around, very laid back and always looking out for your benefit. The location is literally across a small road to the beach, you fall asleep to the waves laying in one of the many hammocks on the second floor. You are a short walk to the center of town and official Mepe bus stop, but when arriving the drivers know Kaya's by name and will drop you right in front oh the place on the way into town. All in all in a matter of minutes arriving here, I felt like family. My experience here is not one I will soon forget, the warmth shown to me from the staff will be carried forever. I plan to return soon.

We stayed ~200 m down the street from here, but we drank here a few times. It was so relaxing! Right across from the beach with a great view of the waves, and a beautiful wood floor that looked freshly remodeled. Wonderful, welcoming staff, and their beers were delicious!

We were amazed to find such great beer in Puerto Viejo. My wife and I each had a flight of five beers so between the two of us we were able to try everything they had on tap. We especially liked the Arcturus double IPA and wheat beer with passion fruit. There's a nice view of Playa Negra from the seating area and the staff were friendly.

I dropped in one afternoon for a tour of the brewery and had a great time. The tour includes 5 generously sized samples, a glass, and walkthrough of their brewery. The owner (TJ?) is a mad beer scientist; the beer is excellent. There were a couple oddball brews like nothing I've had before and they were all good. I needed some food after all the beer so I ordered the Caribbean chicken and was pleasantly surprised with how good it was.

All in all this was a random afternoon stop turned into a great evening.. definitely needed a taxi :-/

Good service and easily the best beer in Puerto Viejo. They make some of their own and also have a good selection from across Costa Rica. Plus it's beach front and a great place to chill. Highly recommend.

I’ve been traveling to Costa Rica and Kayas Place for a couple years for my retreat away from SoCal. Each visit is more charming than the last with the friendly staff to greet me, daily laundry service, and the amazing beers on tap from BriBri Springs. Absolutely love Kaya’s Place and cant wait for my next adventure in Costa Rica ❤

Maybe I was homesick but I loved tasting some craft beer down on the beach. We stayed in one of the rooms that had a private bathroom. The A/C made this room a perfect place to relax between activities.

Kaya's Place is an amazing 26-room hotel on Playa Negra. It's got good vibes and great pizza, and beer on tap! The staff is friendly and the breeze is cool. I would recommend it to all my friends.

The craft beers, nachos and chicken wings were delicious! Our zip lining guides recommended it and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Very gracious service and reasonable prices! ¡Pura Vida!

Another amazing experience in Puerto Viejo at Bri Bri Springs Brewery. JT and his staff always treat us like family just to top off the experience of tasting amazing and passionately brewed artisan brews. Drinking the Arcturus Double IPA now. Delicious.

Outstanding. We only stayed here one night and absolutely loved it. If you want the Marriot, don't stay here. If you want a laid-back, fun place with great staff and terrific beer, definitely stay here.

5 stars to the brewery. There are a lot of beers to choose from. But you also need to taste the ginger beer they make (non alcoholic and gluten free) its amazing!

Really good and unique beers, just unfortunate they only had 3 on tap to try.

This place rocks. Beers are delicious, bartenders are friendly and the view can’t be beat. The food was really good too.
