Cafe Gustitos

Lovely focaccia sandwiches, pastries, and food to go! Sit down breakfast is okay but I prefer Bread and Chocolate for that. Coffee is great! So is most of the staff, they are amazing! Came here multiple times during my week here.

My favorite pick up and go! Price is fantastic compared to others in this area and portions are just right. My favorite dish is fried shrimps. The shrimps are not large but good sized and for 4200 Colones or about $6 USD with fries and a salad it the best! Very tasty and crispy. I normally get it to go because this is a small joints that is always full of customers that heat up an already hot spot!

Cheapest food I could find on the beach. Mostly locals frequent this spot. They don’t always have all their items available however the menu is large! No one speaks English but they do their best. Great service and food. Even went back a second time!

I ate here many many times while in puerto. 3300 colones for a massive plate of rice, beans, meat, salad, and plátano (the dish is called a casado). A yummy fruit drink is also included. Cheap (comparatively) and good

Great place. Good is really tasty and prices are unbeatable in the area.
I got a "sopa de marisco", which means seafood soup which was great.
Quantities are good too.
Highly recommend if you look for quality-price over fancy stuff.

Yummy lunch at a good price for Puerto Viejo/Costa Rica. Typical casados for 3500-4500 - they did have a Plato del dia for 3300 but we were told it was sold out that day (even though could order the same thing at full price haha...)

This joint is elite for a cheap feed when everything else costs your first born child, had the burgers went down a treat. Not as good a restaurant burgers but the price is less than half.

The food here is brilliant and the price is absolutely unbeatable. Me and my friends came here 3 times in the 3 days we stayed in Puerto Viejo, and I've dreamt about it twice since.
