Villas Pina

Best place we stayed at in all of our time in Costa Rica. Eric was super nice to us, also giving us many tips for things to do. The breakfast was just amazing (although maybe just a bit too much haha), and the rooms were incredibly luxurious. They have a super nice garden, and we could even get our laundry done here.

Staying here felt like a 5-star hotel experience. Worth it for sure!

Words are not enough to describe this place. Erik went above and beyond to make our stay incredible.
The villas are beautifully designed, comfortable and well equipped. We had a lot of towels, beach towels, mosquitos cream and suncream to use. The gardens are super well kept, they have sloths around the area, and you can spot them.
Every morning we would have fresh coffee delivered to our villa, and when we mentioned that we didn't drink regular milk, Erik remembered and replaced it for almond milk.
Lastly, the breakfast - AMAZING. Everything is freshly made, they have typical food, fresh fruit and the best empanadas we had of my life.
If you are planning a stay in Puerto Viejo, this is the place. You will absolutely not regret it. The only I regret is not staying longer.

No words can describe how welcoming Eric and his wife Sharon were! This place is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful, peaceful and relaxing! The breakfast was amazing, everything is extremely fresh and made fresh every morning. Thank you so much for making our honeymoon so unforgettable!

Everyone is always so friendly and helpful you are constantly made sure to feel like you are on holiday, the breakfast was always so fresh and so innovative.

The team and Villas pina are always making sure it’s manicured and groomed to perfection, whether it be the actual villas or the gardens.

Eric’s garden is something out of a book with plenty of wildlife.

We were fortunate enough to have a resident sloth stay in a tree next to our Villa

Words cannot describe how fantastic this place is and how amazing Eric and Shannan’s hospitality truly is. The villa is BEAUTIFUL. You are surrounded by so much greenery. Occasionally you will see sloths on site, frogs, other wildlife, oh and their beautiful pets (Betty La Fea being my favorite gentle giant). Breakfast and coffee are provided every morning and it is truly wonderful. I’ve traveled and stayed at many different places and I can say that the hospitality that Eric and Shannon provided is nothing but world class personal service. I went there to celebrate my birthday and unfortunately on the day of my birthday no taxi would pick us up due to the ongoing traffic of the holiday so our originals plans were canceled. We were upset because our plans were cancelled and Eric was kind enough to provide us with another option and even offered to personally drive us and pick us up. I don’t think any other place will ever ever ever top this villa and the amazing hospitality Eric and Shannon provided. If I could I would return for every vacation! Thank you again Shannon and Eric! If you are debating whether or not to stay at this villa DO IT, you will not regret it.

There are so many excellent features at Villas Pina. Eric and Sharon and all of their staff are so kind and helpful. They showed us all of the sloths that make their home in the trees on their property and shared their knowledge of many birds, plants and all the wonderful things to do. The breakfasts were amazing! The attention to detail was fantastic and coffee delivered to your own patio every morning was simply wonderful. We rented bikes from them for many of our days there and enjoyed exploring the area. There are so many beaches nearby and lots of great restaurants in Puerto Viejo. I highly recommend you stay here and we hope to come again someday. Thank you so much to you all for making my birthday trip so memorable!!

This place is absolutely amazing. The rooms look beautiful, the breakfast was delicious and the garden, the area surrounding the rooms and the common area is very beautiful. There are Sloths in the trees, and you can sometimes hear and see monkeys running around.

Furthermore, the staff is very friendly and you can really see that they care about what they do. In the morning they will even serve you coffee on your doorstep.

All in all it is an amazing place and if you are looking to stay in this area I would highly recommend it.

We loved our stay at Villa Pina. The rooms are spacious and very clean, located in a beautiful garden, where you can encounter an amazing wildlife. The breakfast is delicious, cooked freshly every day with no meat.

The hosts are amazing and have given us some great advice on places to go to, based on our interests.

The location is a drive away from the village, but if you seek a quiet, clean and beautiful accommodation, this is the right place for you. It is an upmarket option with great value for money.

Erik and Sharon run their place with affection towards their guests and the staff.

If I could give 10 stars I would! We love Eric And his lovely wife Sharon! There rooms are great, showers and beds great, staff is very accommodating. Can’t wait to return for another visit!

Absolutely stunning place to stay!

Eric and Sharon are the best hosts you could imagine who will make your stay at Villas Puna and the area the highlight of your trip.
Not only was the location really beautiful and clean with a great vibe but we also got to experience nature right on the property - Sloths, Pelican…. In addition, Eric showed us the various plants they are growing and let us try the fruits - gotta love miracle fruit ;)

Having traveled the world quite a bit, Villas Pina was one of the nicest places I got to stay so far. Thanks a lot once more Sharon and Eric. We will be back ;)

Eric and Sharon at Villas Pina have built paradisiacal hotel suites surrounded by tropical gardens in a very calm environment.
It's the perfect place for resting and relaxing if that's what you're looking for.
The suites are very new, clean and nicely decorated, the service and attention to detail is remarkable, breakfast is superb too.
Eric's knowledge of the area and must see attractions is a plus and comes very useful when you only have a few days to explore...
Definitely a place to come back.

The most amazing accommodation. If you like relaxed vibes, clean and beautiful rooms, delicious breakfast, 3 resident sloths, friendly & adorable dogs/cats, and amazing hosts then look no further. Sharon and Eric go out of their way to give excellent recommendations during your stay and to ensure that every little detail is taken care of. They are a short drive outside of the centre of puerto viejo, but easy access to go into town for dinner etc. Playa negra is a 5 minute walk and cahuita national park about a 20 minute drive. 10/10 recommend !

We stayed at Villas Pina 3 nights and it was a great, wonderful experience.
The owners, Eric and Sharon, and all of their staff are very kind and always available for help. They are animal lovers, have 2 dogs and 6 cats, they show to the guests the sloths which live in the property, explain you about the birds and other animal “visiting” the property, as well as the plants and trees which are in the garden.

Room: top!!! Big, beautiful, comfortable. Every room has 2 beds, his own kitchen and his own patio. Fresh coffee is delivered to your own patio every morning at 6.30 a.m.

Breakfasts: amazing! fresh pressed juice (everyday a different one) + 1 bowl of fruits, granola, yoghurt + a small dessert (e.g. muffin) + a plate of typical Costa Rica breakfast

In the common area there is a pool, towels, coffee and filtered water always available.

We had originally planned to stay elsewhere, but came across this gem of a place when our highly rated beach hotel had big time issues (including leaking roofs), and we were astounded at this place. Sharon and Eric are fantastic hosts, hospitable and they went out of the way to arrange a room for us when we were stranded with nowhere to go. The room was extremely comfortable, the breakfast delicious and I had the best night's sleep that I had in Puerto Viejo. Thank you for the stay, we will return.

Let me start by saying we had originally planned on staying only two nights, but then left our highly rated and fully paid for second hotel to return to this gem. Why? It is new, immaculate, beautiful, with ice cold AC, large shower with plenty of hot water, a well equipped kitchen, comfy beds, private patio with hammocks ( and hot coffee waiting each am), sloths, parrots, kinkajous, a private path to the beach, beautiful gardens and pool, delicious big breakfast, really wonderful staff, gracious hosts with attention to every detail. They even arranged to have a wonderful dinner waiting for us upon our late arrival. I come to Costa Rica twice a year, and this is by far the best hotel I've stayed in.

My husband & I stayed at Villas Pinas for 9 nights. The room was spacious & clean and the AC worked really well. Eric & Sharon are incredible hosts and I cannot thank them enough for making our stay super special. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with all kinds of tropical flora. The enormous breakfast (included in the price of the room) was different each day and was prepared to order. Before breakfast, a pot of coffee was delivered to our room, but I recommend trying Alain’s tea. The location is great - a five minute walk takes you to the beach, a small store and/or Banana Azul. We felt very safe and spoiled!! If I return to this area, I would definitely stay at Villas Pina.

It’s a beautiful place, the rooms are clean and beautiful. The stay here is absolutely worth it. The breakfast is really delicious.

The owners are friendly and helpfull. If you need a tour or a food recommendation they will gladly help you and reserve some spots.

The nature is well preserved and there are a lot of animals. The common area is also great.

There is also a lot to do around the place, you will definitely enjoy it.

We spent 3 nights in this beautiful place. Villa Pina is a small paradise inside of a jungle and close to the beach with a black sand. You can feel that this place built with a soul. The owners Eric and Sharon are so nice and thoughtful people. They try to help you in any issues even if it is not about staying. They care a lot about every guest and make you feel like at home. I woke up one morning and there was a rain and I found an umbrella right next to an exit of our villa. It was so thoughtful! The breakfast is outstanding, I've never eaten so much for the breakfast 😋 😄
The beach is around 5 minutes walk, they have a private path to the beach. Thank you Eric and Sharon for the hospitality! Don't think twice,  just book this place it really worth it to have a great rest.

We had such a great stay! After all the adventures, eco lodges and cold showers (which were also awesome) it was so good to relax in a spotless air conditioned room with a strong hot shower again. Abundant breakfasts, freshly prepared, different juice every day. Eric and Sharon are amazing hosts - we felt like staying with friends. And so many good tips! Other bonuses: visiting sloth, cuddly dogs & cats, incredible garden with all kinds of tropical plants, secure parking and our absolute favorite - coffee delivered to the room each morning before breakfast. Those lazy mornings on the terrace spent bird watching will be remembered!

Our villa was impeccable: clean, AC, kitchenette, outdoor space with relaxing chairs and hammock overseeing the garden.
The staff was friendly and Eric and Sharon were great hosts. They welcomed us with agua de coco, gave us tips and recommendations for the day and made sure we had a great time in puerto viejo.
