La Choza del Maíz

This was a very tasty and affordable restaurant just outside of town. It is definitely not a place where the majority of tourists stop, which keeps it quiet and peaceful. We got to try a few different things between the 6 of us, and it was all tasty especially the Horchata!

Great location on the way to Rio Celeste. We tried the soup of the day with a chorreada and it didn’t disappoint.

Got a tasty casado dinner and a milkshake. Lots of options and relatively inexpensive. Menu was in both Spanish and English.

Food and service is amazing and it's not a tourist trap the prices are very affordable. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed this place a lot. Friendly service and fair pricing for the area that is full of tourist locations with terrible over-priced food. I tried the lengua and it was the best I've had. Accompanied with a fresh tortillas and Natilla. The chorreada was an experience of a true taste of Costa Rica. I will be back and highly recommend to all.

The world's most delicious coffee and breakfast.

This place is absolutely incredible! I came here with a friend so that we could taste their delicious "Chorreadas", this is a typical dish made out of corn, most people have them for breakfast or late-coffee in the afternoon. One can choose either a salty or sweet flavor and cheese or "natilla". Their menu is mostly traditional Costa Rican food! Located in the main road of Bijagua, it is a must to stop by. Their prices are really affordable and most important will be the quality. Come visit! Support the locals and experience something delicious over here!

Great place to try local foods at decent prices. Great friendly service. The chicken with rice was delicious and so was the casados.

Worth a stop if you are in the area. Authentic Costa Rican breakfast and lunch foods. Try the sleepy milk (leche dormida).

We were staying near by and decided to try this place for dinner. We had a delicious meal with friendly service, and would definitly eat here again!
