Café del Sol

We got breakfast here at Cafe Del Sol in the bakery area. It was amazing. The iced coffee with a splash of milk was surprisingly creamy and chocolaty, I will coming back for another one! The scones were also a delicious side item with a hot latte. I liked the cups and platter for coffee and the French style chairs and tables. With indoor and outdoor seating you can eat in the A/C or in the ocean breeze which is a block away. The tropical pancakes were perfectly sweet with fresh fruit on top, we bolstered our choice with a side of eggs and bacon (both were great). The granola comes with a little yogurt, I stole the side of yogurt that comes with the pancakes to give me more. But the fresh fruit with the granola was heavenly. My kids said the orange juice was the best they've ever tasted. The Tico breakfast was traditional and delicious (not pictured cause it was take out for the husband). The service was also exceptional, I didn't catch her name but the lady servicing the bakery was so kind and helpful. We had a great experience.

Have been here a few times now and really enjoy it for a variety of experiences. There are three levels to the restaurant, the first being the most formal and a great spot for a valentines dinner. Our server Michelle was attentive and professional and accommodated our group with grace. The second floor is a lounge where my partner and I have danced with staff and other patrons while live music plays. The rooftop is a great place to see monkeys in the late afternoon, or head on a Saturday night for their DJ dance party and bump music with happy locals and tourists all evening.

I keep ordering their risotto as it is perfection in a plate, and my partner and friends have ordered the ribs and found them incredible. One member of our group had the sea bass filet and adored it, though confessed the ribs were superior. Generally though everything is incredible! The antipasto crostini are a delight as well. I really can't say enough how lovely a spot this is.

Nice spot to stop for a snack near the beach. Good coffee, bread and pastries. Places to sit inside and out.

Chef Jimenez is amazing. The meal was spectacular. Taste, presentation, originality A+. The staff at Cafe Del Sol in Potrero in Costa Rica near Liberia and Playa Flamingo are friendly, professional, courteous, speak Spanish and English. The renovation and decor is outstanding, five star! Three floors, each one has its own ambiance and personality. The rooftop wine bar spectacular and intimate atmosphere for gathering of friends. The food menus are different on each floor but guests can choose from the other menus as well if they prefer. The drinks were original and very tasty, decorated with lavendar and tropical delicacies that made it all so delicious. The rosemary in the gin and tonic was dried and smoking a bit which gave the drink a special effect and a lovely scent. Chef Jimenez, you can tell this is his passion, he loves what he does and is so very creative and innovative. Dining at this restaurant was more than an excellent meal, it was an exceptional experience, one that makes you want to go back on the two other floors to experience Georges (the owner)'s vision of what a dining experience should be, complete, elegance, artistic and gastronomical delight to the palette, the eye, the scent of food creations. Highly recommend this restaurant. A delightful surprise and a must go to if you are in Costa Rica.

Amazing fresh fish and grilled vegetables! Whole fresh red snapper poached and finished in a perfectly seasoned sauce. Very nice and friendly restaurant. My companion had a beautiful sea bass fillet that was delicious. Highly recommend!

Asparagus with shrimp risotto more delicious than it appears.Did not leave a grain of rice in the bowl. That good. The bar is just beautiful! Good service.

Today is my last day in Guanacaste and me and my family spend time in Danta Beach.... after that we went to Café del Sol and really was a good choice. Relax place,good service and the food.. Great!!!!.... love it

Breakfast restaurants are rare in Potrero so we were happy to find The Bakery open in the mornings. We had breakfast here 3 days in a row. The granola with yogurt and fresh fruit was fantastic. You get a huge bowl and it's only $5 US!!

In the morning the cafe has breakfast, croissants, coffee both Costa Rican and espresso. You can buy your loaves of bread for the day. Such a charming place!

Five star experience from top to bottom. The entire staff was beyond friendly, nice, conversational and caring. The food was unique for the area and very very flavorful and tasty. The the new renovation & overall design was just incredible! We enjoyed the entire visit the whole time we were there. Order the Mole Chicken and Guava BBQ short rib!

We had breakfast here two days in a row and it was delicious! The best latte I’ve ever had. I had the avocado toast which was incredible. My kids had the pancakes and French toast which were also amazing! Definitely check this place out

Big fan of this place! Went here with some girlfriends after sunset and really enjoyed the ambiance. We started on the second floor at the Lounge and shared a few tapas and cocktails. Everything was delicious. Then we moved up to the cocktail bar rooftop and we were blown away. The design was amazing, the bartender was super friendly and the music was amazing. This place has everything. Will be going to the bakery tomorrow morning to try that out too!

Last time my boyfriend and I traveled to Costa Rica this place was under construction. This time around we were lucky enough to check it out. It did not disappoint. The Greek salad was spectacular and we had the time of our lives during the rooftop cocktail happy hour thanks to our bartender Angel. The ambiance was very nice. With 3 stories, there are many comfortable places to sit and enjoy the very delicious menu. Highly recommend!

We ate here twice, once for breakfast and dinner. The food was delicious. My husband had the red snapper and it was so flavorful and cooked to perfection. I had the jumbo shrimp and it was very good also. The customer service was excellence. This is definitely a restaurant you need to try when visiting Guanacaste, Potrero.

Delicious food and drinks. I’m allergic to gluten and the waiter let me know they can do pizza, sandwiches and lots of the main courses gluten free. My meal was fantastic and the rest of my group agreed this was one of the best meals we had in Costa Rica so far!

Great place. Went for a late night diner on our arrival in Potrero. Excellent Service with lots of smiles. Food is great. Fresh Fish and Chips that is a full meal in itself, Greek Salad was delicious and well presented and Margherita Pizza was simple but very tasty. A great experience with very welcoming staff! Great little place for breakfast with outside seating and howler monkeys in a big tree over the patio

Simple, but tasty, dinner, lunch and brunch menus with open air seating very near the beach and a few other local businesses. Good service. Occasional late night music.
