Dobříš Castle

Really nice chateau and Gardens but the French garden is a bit small.. Entrance is 60czk. I would recommend it for sure for couple photography

Dobříš Castle is like a jewel that stands out in the beauty of the Brdy forests. The castle is a beautiful building of a three-winged Rococo castle with an extensive French and English park. Rococo castle at the foot of Brd. The summer colony of the great bat is located directly at the chateau, in the surrounding parks you can meet 7 other species of bats and other rare animals.

Small castle in rococo style was rebuilt in the 18th century after the original baroque castle was destroyed by fire. The castle was owned by Colloredo-Mannsfeld family till 1942 when it was appropriated by the German Reich. In 1945, it was confiscated by the Czechoslovak state and in 1998, the house was returned to the family. It was again renovated after that and now includes hotel, restaurant and a park. Park is under revitalization till 2020, so it was not possible that visit it, but it does look beautiful from outside.

Nice castle with beautiful park. Excellent for wedding. Lots of flowers, fountains and green labyrinths in the French garden. A large "semi-wild" English park with many walking trails.

The fantastic exhibition about the Little Mole (Krteček) is definitely a must see for small children! You can spend there several hours if you want ;)

It's a slept on Chateau in the Karlštejn region, I beautiful castle a glorious French garden behind it. The Park is currently under construction and won't be finished till 2020.

Dobříš is a small pretty palace owned by Colloredo-Mansfeld family. Interiors are nice, gardens seem to be beautiful.
Our suggestion for improvement would be for a guide to speak more about lifestyle of the era and less about complicated genealogical tree of the Colloredo-Mansfeld family.
Unfortunately the gardens are closed for reconstruction so you can only enter the palace itself. Small pets are not allowed inside even in a bag. Parking is available in the town, walking distance from the palace.

Greatings my friends! Stay while and listen: Visit was so wonderfull! Greatest adventure was The Soup made from "holiest animal (in The/e/ India)" BEEF soup. And I stop there only for a while.
