I LOVED it here. The food was outstanding! The couple who run it are so friendly and wonderful. I thought the atmosphere was fantastic as well. I will never forget the wonderful taste of the fire and wood cooked steak. It was cooked to PERFECTION! The pasta tasted hand made and fresh as can be!!! Well worth the trip. 🖤

Food tastes amazing! Fresh of the wood grill! Meat and potatoes had such a great grill taste. I have not had better then at the „Zum alten Goten“. Definitely a recommendation!

A special place. If you can only eat spiesbraten one time, eat it here. I had the ribeye. Plan on some extra time for homemade food. I will be back to try the lamb. Kids schnitzel was also wonderful.

My wife and I have been frequenting here for the past ten years. They catered our wedding, and we return every year on our anniversary. We absolutely love this restaurant, authentic food, and fantastic company. The Spießbraten is, quite simply, the best I have ever had. This place is our favorite place to eat in all the world and look forward to it every year.

As an American who has lived in Germany for 2.5 years please trust when I say the ribeye speisbraten is the most incredible piece of beef I've ever eaten. I grew up on a cattle ranch and have eaten fresh beef my whole life. We happened upon this restaurant and while it's a hour drive from where we live, I'll be back as many times as possible before we leave Germany. My wife had the pork loin speisbraten and thoroughly enjoyed it, but the real shock was my nine year old daughter had the lamb speisbraten and told the cook that it was the best food she'd ever eaten.

Best steak I've ever ate. Perfect medium rare as I requested. Love the history of the building as well. I completely recommend.

Phenomenal! If you're looking for spiesbraten in a charming, quaint atmosphere, this is the place. Run by a welcoming husband-wife team, this became our favorite local haunt.
