Went there for a weekend trip. Restaurant has a warm and cozy atmosphere. Main theme is deer hunting. Food is traditional franconian kitchen. Beer is very good. I had a "Pfefferkarpfen" (baked carp with black pepper and salad) which was excellent and is highly recommended if you are at the place between september and april. Rooms are nothing special but warm and clean and have good value. Breakfast was also solid with typical german cheese and sausages to choose from. There are vegetarian options both for breakfast and on the regular menu.

Such a wonderful place for a french guy.
Welcoming people and get lunch on a beautiful day outside is a pleasure.
For sure too much to eat in the plate, at least for a french stomach.
Their own beer with the ladyboss on the picture will give you à cheap souvenir.

We didn't stay for the night, but we had a delicious meal at the lively and busy biergarten. The staff was friendly and did everything possible to satisfy us, despite it being really busy and stressful. The food is very traditional, and very, very good.

Giving this five stars on the merit of a summer visit. Biergarten was bustling and had a great Schäuferla and a few very good beers. Took my wife there in the winter and it didn't quite live up to my hype. Duck and Schäuferla were nice but skin was undercooked. That would have been a four star visit but will give them the benefit of the doubt until I get back there.

Stopped here while on a bike tour along the canal. Large servings of traditional German /Frankisch entres. Good beer, atmosphere (outside) and prices.
