Frauenwörth Abbey in Chiemsee

This is a beautiful spot on the Chiemsee lake. The scenery is simply stunning. This island is an awesome place to visit. There is a veil of bucolic idyll that covers the whole place. It is an incredibly picturesque sight. Should you be in the area, definitely make a visit to the lake a top priority. There is a regular ferry service and there are plenty of places where you can go hiking or cycling. Definitely, a must visit destination!

Go to Man island for a day off museums and tours, then come here to enjoy the multitude of dining options. Lovely island community and historic church. The Abbey is a nice place to stay, but you can only stay as part of a seminar group. Has a slight spider problem

This is a must see, go there by boat and spend a few hours on the island. Walk around and have a coffee or bite and and a drink. Great spot in summer.

Absolutely gorgeous in spring/summer. A beautiful place to walk and observe nature. The views are amazing.

This is on a lovely island and the boat ride across is very scenic. Ample space here for sitting alongside the lake and swimming. There's a number of bars/restaurants but they can get very busy. As with everything in this area, you must allow ample time to be served. Lovely island, well worth a visit.

An interesting mix between a religious and a commercial place.

Super beautiful place for a great day trip amidst Mountain view and lake. The Museum was great and ship ride adds a lot of fun.

I think doesn't get much more beautiful. Also a wonderful experience to see the many little shops and the active church with island community is fantastic.

Heavenly place to retreat from worldly troubles. Some villagers and cafe bar gave some earthly feeling. Misty lake and distant mountains make live painting.

Benedictine monastery on a lake island, with a Carolingian gate hall & a centuries-old church.

This is place to be overnight if visiting here. No wlan or other useless modern stuff 😀. Bed and shower should do.

Nice terrace, very nice waitress, tasty food. Best restaurant in the Chiemsee.

I didn't have time to to walk inside, but just the outside gardens worth the trip.
