Hotel Restaurant Zum Stern

My move to Baumholder was tuff on one of my children. My boy had a tremendous culture shock and wouldn't eat. We tried for weeks for him to feel comfortable with the new foods and flavors and then we stumbled upon the Zum Stern. He asked for chicken nuggets so we told him that the schnitzel was a large chicken nugget. He ate it and loved it, he also loved the salad and specially their home salad dressing. That was 7 years ago. When he thinks of Germany he thinks Zum stern. After that night he absolutely loved and embarrassed the German cuisine. We miss you guys at the Zum Stern!

This small cute little restaurant is great! Close to base and the food was delicious! The staff was friendly and the food had reasonable prices. The table setting was cute as well, differently different if you’re coming from another culture. I will definitely be coming back. The food took a little long, but only because it was a large group and they cook fresh food which is a PLUS! The wait was worth. In the pictures are the 4 piece baguette and the onion soup. The onion soup was to die for! Looking forward to going back!

I enjoyed this place a lot. The staff is bilingual and their coffee is great. I got the jāgorschnitzel, which I recommend for your first authentic German meal. It was covered in a yummy gravy sauce with a side of mashed potatoes. Also just a walking distance from base.

One of our favorite restaurants in the area. Their daily specials are always good and I truly enjoy their jagerschnitzel. Portions are good sized and the food is priced a little high for the area - but it is worth every cent. Has a large area you can use for functions - they did not charge us for this - only requirement was that we ordered food from them and not catered from elsewhere.

This restaurant is a great place for Americans looking for a good first German restaurant experience. The staff are very friendly and speak English. They are more than happy to explain the menu items for those of us who aren't sure what a croquette or spetzel is. I would definitely recommend this to German newbies who want some practice as well as the staff are very patient and helpful with new speakers.

Wonderful food, friendly staff, if you're new to Germany though, don't rush your dinner. Germans are really big on making public meals into social gatherings, enjoy the ambience and don't be too surprised if it's a half hour wait or so for food. I promise it's worth it.

Excellent food at arguably the closest restaurant to post. The cordon bleu is by far the best cordon bleu I've ever tasted. The pork is beaten thin and perfectly battered/fried. I dare you to get this dish and not like it. They have very decent lunch specials as well.

Great place to stay and eat! Very clean rooms, spacious, good wifi. Restaurant had some of the best food I had in this area. Would definitely recommend.

One of the best meals we've had in Germany. Friendly staff. Very accommodating. All in our group were pleased.

This place is by far one of my favorite restaurants in Baumholder!! The food is excellent, the prices are affordable and the customer service is outstanding!! Oh may I add their homemade bbq sauce, I can’t describe it, you have to try it😋😋😋
