One of to do list in Berlin was to go to Christmas Garden. So here I am in Christmas Garden for the first time. Security guards at the main gate were not very friendly but full of attitude. Anyhow It was nice light show and decor is top class. We were thrilled by the beautiful ambience, the magical lights and sound effects, the cozy stands where refreshments were provided. Even it was bit freezing but for us, it was the perfect end of the day. We really enjoyed the light trail in garden. Even at the end, light show at glasshouse was awesome.
Bad thing is after paying very expensive entry fee, you’ll have to pay for the toilet as well. That was totally unfair. Hope next time they’ll arrange things better for basic facilities.

Overall, Botanic Grader's Greenhouse is a delightful place to spend some time and appreciate the beauty of nature.

Oh Boy, where do I start. Unfortunately, the european part and the garden house we're the only Open parts when we visited but with the reduced price of 3€, it was so worth it. It was so amazing to See the different plants and really feel the different climats as they are all represented pretty well. Such an interesting place and No too far away from the Center.

Definitely worth a visit :)

The greenhouse gardens (glasshouses) alone were well worth the small entrance fee (4€)! It didn't bother me that most of the outdoor gardens are temporarily closed for renovations right now on my visit, since it's the off-season and there isn't much plant-wise to see outside anyway. They are separated by climate zones but also then by country and plant categories. This is the 2nd largest botanical garden in the world, which is noticeable in the large grounds and very extensive and well-laid-out collection of plants from around the world. Impressive! The cacti collection is quite large too.
A lot of the plants from different zones were blooming; they were healthy and well-maintained. There were also smaller houses with begonias, Japanese plants, carnivorous plants, plants and their uses, etc.
Be aware that while there were some signs with interesting information, almost all of them, and all the plant names, are in German (and Latin for the names) only!!
Highly recommended for plant lovers and those who want a little peace and quiet!

The botanical garden in Berlin is an enchanting oasis boasting an incredible variety of plants in diverse microenvironments. Exploring the expansive greenhouses was a journey through different climates, each displaying a stunning array of flora. Outside, the park surrounding the garden was equally captivating, with a multitude of plant species and majestic trees. We also spotted two foxes! A truly unforgettable botanical experience in the heart of Berlin. 🌿🦊🍺

Well worth a visit to the greenhouses, even in Autumn. Massive, extensive glass houses, like being in the jungle! Beautiful gardens outside, would love to see them in the Spring too. Nice little cafe for hot drinks and eats.

Magnificent! The biggest greenhouse I have ever seen in my life. The plants are well presented by different zones. The collection of cactus is impressive. The building itself is nice. Unfortunately, the Botanic museum is closed for renovation and we have not walked in the garden because of the rain, but the greenhouse itself is worth visiting, and the price of 6 euros is really very moderate for the volume. And it is open on Monday when the majority of museums are closed.

Nice place where you can spend almost the whole day with your family , friends or maybe alone. It's a large place so please take some food and water which keeps you energetic. Diverse species plants here and there are also several greenhouses and a museum. If you are a plant-lover then go with it. It's a magnificent place. I love the cactus area and also the greenhouse.

Note: Take your student card because they have offers for students.

The holiday light show is magnificent. Clever lighting makes the trees dance. A mist from water sprayed into the air is illuminated with a laser. The effect is really entertaining.

Great place to learn about plants from different continents, in different artificial environments. Great outdoor trees with hills.

Berlin’s Botanic Garden is truly large and diverse with 20 000 different species of plants on 43 hectares. Some of the paths are under construction, but the stroll is nevertheless rewarding. Several clean toilets are available. Very worth the visit even when the weather is bad, thanks to the several greenhouses. They are well maintained and the routes are nicely guided. Although The Botanic Garden is not centrally situated, it is easily reached with U- or S-Bahn. The day ticket costs 6 euros.

This is, if not my favorite, one of my favorite Places in Berlin and probably the whole Germany. This place is full of life, fresh air, beautiful trees and plants.

Its a big place that you can use to walk and free your mind or to jog and take some fresh air. If you want to rest for a while, there are sparse seats around that you can use to recover, also a couple of restaurants and cafe inside the Garden.

I dont remeber how many times I've visited this place, and don't know how many more i will, it's just an amazing place that you need to see.

Well worth the money! I and my boyfriend spent more than 3 hours there and would have spent even more if the garden wasn't closing soon.
The garden was close to bus stops which was practical, it was nice to roam the garden even though it was raining, visiting the greenhouses was included in the price of a regular ticket (!), everything was well-maintained, there were free (and pretty clean) bathrooms in the garden and the greenhouses, the staff we talked to was nice, there wasn't too many people anywhere (although that could have been because of the rain) which was appreciated.
It'd be nice if there was more maps and directional signs scattered throughout the botanical garden as it is huge and a bit hard to navigate, and also if there were English names (not just Latin) and English informational signs next to the plants (there were some English signs in the greenhouses but not in the outside garden). Some parts of the garden and greenhouses were closed off, but since it's so vast there, there was so much other stuff to see.
Anyway, would love to come back again! So many parts we didn't get to see yet and I bet it'd be fun to come here again. :)

It was a very pleasant surprise to discover how beatiful and interesting this place can be. Very well maintained and with a wide variety of plants from all over the world, you can easily spend at least 3-4 hours visiting the greenhouses and gardens.

An Enchanting Oasis in the Heart of Berlin

I had the pleasure of visiting the Botanical Garden in Berlin recently, and I must say it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment I stepped through the entrance, I was transported into a world of natural beauty and tranquility.

The garden's extensive collection of plants and flowers from various corners of the globe left me in awe. The well-maintained pathways meandered through lush greenery, offering a feast for the eyes at every turn. Each section of the garden has been thoughtfully organized, allowing visitors to explore different ecosystems and appreciate the diversity of plant life.

One of the highlights of my visit was the incredible Tropical House, which took me on a journey through dense rainforests. The humidity and temperature inside mimicked the authentic environment, instantly transporting me to another continent. It was fascinating to witness giant tropical ferns, vibrant orchids, and exotic palm trees up close. The sense of serenity and wonderment one feels in this space is truly indescribable.

Another feature that I found particularly impressive was the themed gardens within the complex. From the Japanese Garden, with its meticulously arranged rocks and tranquil water features, to the Rose Garden filled with a riot of colors and intoxicating scents, each area had its own unique ambiance. Walking through these themed gardens felt like embarking on a sensory journey, offering a momentary escape from the bustling city.

I must commend the knowledgeable and friendly staff who were ever-present and ready to assist with any inquiries. Their passion for horticulture was evident, as they shared fascinating anecdotes about the plants and their care. It greatly enhanced my overall experience and added an educational element to my visit.

Furthermore, the botanical garden provides ample seating areas and beautifully manicured lawns, perfect for a leisurely picnic or a moment of quiet contemplation. The combination of verdant landscapes, chirping birds, and the fragrance of blossoming flowers created a serene ambiance. It's an ideal spot for nature enthusiasts, families seeking a peaceful outing, or couples looking for a romantic rendezvous amidst nature's marvels.

Lastly, I appreciate the accessibility features offered by the garden. Ramps and smooth pathways ensured easy access for individuals with mobility challenges. The restrooms and eating facilities were clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable experience for all.

In conclusion, the Botanical Garden in Berlin is a true gem that should be on every nature lover's must-visit list. The sheer variety of plant species, the thoughtful organization of the gardens, the knowledgeable staff, and the overall serenity of the place make it a haven in the heart of the city. It’s an oasis where one can unwind, find inspiration, and connect with nature in a truly immersive way. Highly recommended!

Unique experience. Sincerely didn't expect so much beauty at one place. It is the biggest collection of trees, plants and flowers so well taking care of. I spent 4-5 hours there and it was worth it.
