Ticket cost: €6,50 for adults. €3 for students. It is worth a visit if you are interested in visiting museums. The original German flag is in this museum but you are prohibited from taking a picture.

We came here for a “quick stop” before going to Hohe Loog Haus with our kids ages 1,3,5. Even from the nearest parking spot on the road, it was still a 5-10 minute walk going at my 5yos pace, and we were quite lucky to get a spot thy close as there were tons of cars parked along the schlossstrasse on this Saturday afternoon. I had read reviews saying it’s not worth it going inside, so we didn’t buy tickets, but interestingly enough you can access inside even without buying tickets, though you can’t access the exhibits in some of the rooms without. The views alone made the stop worth it, and there is plenty to see on the exterior of the castle with signage in German and English. A truly beautiful castle. I think if we had left more time we would have bought tickets since a family ticket is only €12 and the exhibit did look interesting from the outside of that level when we took the elevator up. The wall is stroller friendly until you get to the stairs at the end, and only partially shaded. We did not eat at the castle restaurant but it looked great, as did the restaurant near the parking road.

Nice castle, great view (with or without fog below), and an informative little museum with info in German about the beginning of German democracy. The very first black, red, and gold German flag is on display.

Small, but beautiful museum inside. Outside still shows signs of the old buildings that have been destroyed over time, the outlines have signs telling the story of the castle.
The overview of the surrounding country and hug its vineyards is amazing and breathtaking.

Take bus 502 from just outside the Neustadt (wein str.) Station. After going for around 28 minutes it reaches the Schloss. The last 400 metres uphill walk is needed. But disabled people in car can reach right upto the schloss and park there. Nice walk around schloss. We didn't go inside.

Visited the castle just after sunrise, due to the Corona restrictions it was closed, so hiked up to a nearby viewing point to capture a panoramic view of the castle. The castle was the location of the Hambacher fest where the first German flag was unveiled. Definitely a place etched in German history.

The view is amazing from the castle. The museum is very interesting, although all text is in german. Audioguides in English/German are available for 3€. The museum also has some interactive sections for kids.

Easily accessible through public transport but with less frequency. We took the bus, 502, from Neustadt hbf. It has a beautiful view from the top.
Must to visit if you are a student from Kaiserslautern with the free Vrn pass ;)

Great hike up here. Great exhibition and awesome guided walk. Unfortunately the permanent exhibition was closed to be remade.
When visiting this cradle of German democracy you can not only learn about history but also get a wonderful view along the Weinstraße and across the Rhein Valley as well as over towards the Pfälzer Wald.
Fantastic.
