Beautiful setting. The food is absolutely amazing and the hosts are always friendly and welcoming. I've never had a bad dish here.

This Steak was AMAZING. The place is small and just a couple staff members so you need to be patient but it’s worth the wait. The potato and homemade sour cream are delicious. Definitely worth returning to. 🙏🏼🙌🏼

Wow! The wait staff were just amazing. They took the time to clearly explain the process in English. They were effecient and friendly. I was really impressed that the quality has not changed even after all these years. To notch cut of beef. The baked potato was loaded with sour cream.

It was such a pleasant meal. The hot stone fillet steak was so good that we finished it within 10 min. The atmosphere and service are both excellent and the price is fair. Our waiter was very kind and gave us complimentary digestive brandy after meal. If you are in Ladenburg don’t miss this lovely place. Highly recommended.

Great place to get a steak. You won't get one served like this in the US! Great food and fun friendly staff. You must eat here!! Old style restaraunt with very awesome staff and great service and the food is great! Your stomach will thank you! One of my all time favorite restaraunts anywhere in the world.

Absolutely wonderful quaint beautiful little restaurant. The steak in the lava rock was amazing and the homemade sauces were delicious. I've book marked this restaurant so I can visit again. Highly recommended.

The staff and food are very nice! They offer English menus and speak English. The Hot Stone dishes are definitely the highlight of the menu and a definite recommendation.

This is my favorite place to eat when I'm in Germany. I've been here now a few times, and I've since looked for similar places and unfortunately have nothing close to Die Kartoffel. The potatoes are absolutely delicious with that sour creamey topping goodness, and then aren't even as good as the meat. For some reason, I really enjoy getting a raw cut of steak, and being able to take it off right when I think it is ready. For the sauces, I only actually like the red one, but damn if it isn't a super delicious dipping sauce. It is a bit pricey, but if your anywhere close come visit. The town is also a really cool historic old town with authentic architecture and dates of the buildings right on them. Plus the staff we've had every time has been awesome.

Food was very good and service was great. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive.

Always a pleasure going to "Die Kartoffel". Took my wife here on a date when we first met 19 years ago and we love to come back when we pass through Germany. The food is delicious, the ambience is amazing and the town of Ladenburg is wonderfully quaint. Always a 5 start experience. PS I strongly recommend the lamb...

A very unique concept of steak dining. You will decide on how well your steak is, coz you are making it on your own! They will present the raw meat on top of a mega sizzling stone (imported from Italy) 👌🏽

Chairs are small and a bit uncomfortable but the service and food are amazing. The sauces are excellent. Steak on a hot stone is genius and tasty. We will come again.

Amazing hot stone experience.

Authentic old German food. Limited menu but mad good food. You gotta get the steak and potatoes… its just a must. You cook ya own steak so its get done exactly as u like it. 3 home sauces on the side and a butter or sour cream soaked baked potato. Atmosphere is cool. Old farm decor low ceilings and wood beams.

Absolutely the best restaurant for German food in Germany. I've been coming here for over 10 yrs, and I always bring visiting friends and family. Everything is delicious, the staff is actually friendly, and they have an awesome vegetarian selection, too! 10 stars if i could. Get you some kartoffel!

Best steak I've had with excellent service to back it up.

Great meat, excellent atmosphere, very nice interior. If you are close to the restaurant don't miss it.
