A brilliant guided tour of the castle, unfortunately you can not take photos inside. Our guide was excellent, her English perfect.
We were also incredibly lucky to be able to use the stables venue for a party, it's only permitted to be used twice a year!!

dated to the 19th century, a very strict guided tour allows you to see a part of the castle and Monastery. the tour costs 16€, in german and with audio guide for english speakers. the guide is very friendly and gives a lot of infos. you pass from the dinnerroom to fiesta hall to sleeping room to the chapel and then you take the stairs down to the monastery hallways with gothis arcades until the Court church. very impressive, dont forget to buy the guiding book since photography is not allowed.

We went to the Christmas market held here. There was an entrance fee to get in, but it was less on Monday than other days. There was a wide variety of vendors, particularly food. We found the food to be of high quality and very delicious.

Very beautiful palace! You can only go with the tour guide. Not all the places were open as we couldn’t visit the treasures and carriage museum.

Nicest Christmas market of the 20+ we visited. Small entrance fee (under€10 I think) totally worth it. Over the top beautiful event and setting.

I was there to watch Kool and the Gang and it was a beautiful ambiance. The grounds were safe and I enjoyed my time there very much . I will go back again to visit during regular hours.

This is the business class of Christmas markets. You have to pay to get in but it is a nice environment. The food stalls are in the center of the courtyard.
Buy your tickets online for a discount price. It’s an easy walk from the train station to the Christmas market.
This was my first time going and I wish I went years ago.

Vast Rococo palace complex on the foundations of a Benedictine monastery, with lavish state rooms.

Beautiful palace! Well worth checking out. I took a tour. My german isn't great (and the tour guide spoke quickly), so I got an English audio guide. There was lots of interesting information. The tour guide also told us some additional information in English as well, since the tour guide provided some information that wasn't on the audio guide. Unfortunately, you can't take pictures in most of the palace.

Christmas Market visit from Munich. Missed that the opening was not until 3pm. Visited old town while I waited. If I visit Germany again at Christmas this would be the ultimate Christmas experience and would stay the night near the castle. There was so much to see like going back in time to the middle ages with hidden luxury alcoves curtained off , a champagne tent on a hill , restaurant that served raclette and fondue, and a great range of market stalls. I couldn't recommend highly enough.

Pity that you get inside only a few times per year but luckily on Christmas and once in Summer one get to see the gorgeous park and the castle area

Vunderbar! Amazing look into the biggest palace in Europe. Interesting to hear that the wealth was gained through industry and guile rather than war or colonisation.

Wonderful Christmas market. They had a great variety of food offerings and the public fireplaces helped shake the cold.

Visited for the Christmas market, so we didn't go inside, but the grounds of the place are very nice and the views of the buildings are good.
The Christmas market is also very nice and worth a visit.
Hope to visit again in the future in order to visit the inside.
Easy access as it is only a short walk from the Hauptbahnhof.

Unassuming from the outside but so stunning from the inside. Well worth a visit.
Our fantastic guide Helena was the best tour guide I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, spoke with passion, was well informed and kept us interested and entertained at all times.

Enjoyed visiting the Christmas Market here in the square while visiting and meeting our son. We enjoyed the crafts and food at the market along with the Christmas decorations.
