Very friendly staff, cosy inside with a great terras outside. Very clean and comfortabele, good quality food. When you order a steak you're asked how you want it cooked and you get perfectly how you want ik.

We had a great meal. The atmosphere was amazing and our waiter Mainul was super! The pork knuckle was delicious & beers too!

First time here for a family lunch, very good food and quick and polite service, i had the white asparagus which is in season with smoked ham and potatoes which was delicious, would definitely recommend and will definitely return

Ask for "RAY" we were greeted everytime with his big smile and his friendliness, and level of alertness for customer service is above and beyond, food is absolutely delicious I highly recommend the BERLINER CURRYWURST you can't go wrong!! Prices are beyond reasonable, big portions for your money

Food was awesome!

We really love this restaurant. There was plenty of seating outside during the Summer when we visited. Serving traditional German food, you can't go wrong. Equally, we loved the drinks with plenty of choice. We will visit again.

Great little restaurant under the arches. The menu has good options for kids and adults. The pork knuckle was amazing - so crispy and a huge portion!

Lively atmosphere
We arrived at probably their busiest time on a Friday night. They explained that orders wouldn’t be processed for 30 minutes. We were happy with that. Very pleased to just know ahead of time.

Lovely. Bratwurst and fries and mustard... Standard German food, a green beer with some strange root thing in, and a great setting. Nice attentive waitress.

A nice classic German restaurant situated right below Hackescher Markt Station. The food was authentic German and very well prepared. The restaurant resembled an old 🍺 tavern. Must try if in the area shopping...

Great atmosphere, nice staff and wonderful tastes. Really liked the interior design of the restaurant. Dishes were super tasty. Would try it again whenever Im in Berlin. The price was really good compared to the quality of the meal.

Service was good, was served by a nice gentleman- fafi. My grandparents love the place. Food, Drink was great and atmosphere too.
Would go back if I am in Berlin again.

Wow what a lovely atmosphere and the food was delicious. I had the pork knuckle with Mash. The crackling was out of this world together with the meat just falling off the bone. Be warned that is a huge dish enough for 2. The soup I had was out of this world. The service was excellent and a special thank you to Patritia who was really really helpful

Nice atmosphere inside. The staff was friendly and had no issues with English.

The bread starter wasnt worth it in my opinion.

The burger however was nice. Both the normal fries as the sweet potato fries were really good.

Went there with my girlfriend after being disappointed in another place, we were pleasantly surprised by Restauration 1840, the staff were friendly and jolly, as well as helpful and attentive. The food was fabulous and very tasty and reasonable priced. We'll definitely be back next time we're here in Berlin

Excellent choice for lunch or dinner (I understand that they also serve quite a bountiful breakfast here) while taking in all the sights of Berlin-Mitte. Tourists need to keep the energy levels up, and visitors from all over the world as well as locals inhabit this wonderful space. Service is unbelievably good in spite of the eternally crowded atmosphere, and the cuisine is superb, served up in large portions. Highly recommended!
