Burg Falkenstein

I've been to many castles in Germany and other European countries, this one is up there with the best! Fantastic history, beautifully restored, very friendly personnel, a must visit for anyone in the area.

Nice castle to visit. It's a 2km walk to get there, but if that's too far there is a (paid) shuttle service from the parking. It's a very nice walk to the castle. The castle itself has a rich history. Unfortunately most info given is only in German. But even without the ability to read about the history its well worth a visit. There is also a restaurant here.

Amazing castle! It was really fun to visit, like a trip back in time. You are able to walk through almost the whole castle by yourself. And also go to the high tower for a beautiful view. There is a lot of information, but only in German so we couldn't understand that much of it. But it was a really nice experience anyway. The walk there is easy and not too long from the parking lot. You do need to pay 3 euro in cash for parking. Students do get a cheaper entry for the castle as well 🏰 Highly recommend, walking trough it is just such a fun experience!

Very nice castle with impressive outside looks and equally cool interiors. It hold
a superb birds of prey show if you are luck enough to makr part of it.

The castle's museum is fine, not too big but still, quite interesting. The birds of prey are what makes visiting this castle truly worth it and a special attraction of this region. In my opinion, it deserves a visit, although some improvements can still be made regarding the organization of the raptors' exhibition or even regarding the prices.

Very beautiful castle. A true original. Very worthwhile a visit. The road leading to the castle is also fantastic. The place itself remains impeccable and they do a very good job conserving the place. As you can see, the views are also quite nice. Don’t miss the museum!

Recommend to have more time to sightseeing all the room, you can walking tour by yourself all room have the information sign.
And outside area they have some kind of bird (sorry I don't know that bird) showing.
They have one cafe where you can take a rest with nice view. I don't have time to order some. And small outdoor bar for drinking beer.
At the downhill have transport service if you don't want to walk up to hill.
I love this castle. I will be back one more time.

A great place to visit. The castle is very well maintained. The access is via a nice route through the forest. From the keep you have an impressive view over the surrounding area.

Great castle with a nice hike when you park on the below street! The hike is 100 'm steep so get your stamina up. The castle combines many building ingredients so enjoy the details!

Beautiful castle. There are 2 trails to the castle from the car park. Do not take the main one for cars/train. The second one, through the forest is way nicer.

I went with a bunch of friends and had a lot of fun. It's very beautiful and and very clean. Wonderful people all very kind. I learnt alot and had a lot of fun dressing up in old time. Loathes with my friends. I Definatley suggest you visit when you can. But, bring your hiking boots, a bottle of water And a warm jacket.

A must-see! Well maintained castle from 1220 with falconry. Try the Knights Festival in late May!
