Jesuit Church of St. Ignatius

I went there for a concert in the evening. I intend to return for mass to see the natural light through the stained glass windows; Jesuit liturgies in Germany are usually excellent: tasteful and thought provoking but not pompous.

The building is a great example of 20th century "brutalist" architecture which manages to create a welcoming space, despite the unadorned concrete, using complex geometric shapes and a series of nooks and crannies filled with wooden devotional statues. The belfry is integrated into the church as an access lift. The church is situated on the first floor and the elevation gives it a certain lightness, while the ground floor contains community spaces and a kind of narthex. In a city full of uninspiring churches which are the product of the post-war reconstruction spree, this bold little church stands out.

Travelled a bit far just to celebrate Mass with the Filipino Community here. The homily gave justice to our tiring travel. Renewed spirit. After the Mass, we had the chance to taste some delicious Filipino food that I've craved for so long. Plus, you get the chance to meet new friends.
Soul and Body satisfied. Kudos to the organizers. Our trip was long and tiring but it definitely was worth it.
We'll definitely be back. Maraming Salamat at Mabuhay!

La misa de noche a las 21.00 (Moonlight Jazz Messe) es una preciosidad, tocan jazz de mucha calidad y el padre explica fenomenal las lecturas. El ambiente está decorado con velas para la oracion sin distracciones y un recogimiento total. Me gusta acabar aquí el fin de semana y ofrecer la semana.

St. Ignatius ist die Stadtteilkirche des Westens und neben der Hochschule St. Georgen in Oberrad ein Standort der Jesuiten. Familiengottesdienst es jeden Sonntag um 10:30 Uhr. Die Kirche ist ein schöner Ort, um innezuhalten. Der Kirchenraum ist eine Wucht. Ebenso die Orgel, die häufig von erstklassigen Organisten gespielt wird.
