Brauhaus Bönnsch

Good food and good beer. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We ordered one Spare ribs and one Schnitzel, the portions might be too big for Asian girls like us.

We spent two nights here during the group stages of Euro 2024. The beer was amazing as well as the food and service. Well worth a visit.

I am a Czech guy so a foreign brewery visit is a must!

The Weissbier is something Germans should be proud of and here it delivered. Bonnsch is served in funny looking glass and it was enjoyable.

I did not do any research of local products but beer is usually more enjoyable if poured into a wet cold glass in one go. The juggling with glasses behind the tap with foam out of control looks silly. I am coming again when passing by.

This bar was a great find to stop under the sun and enjoy more German food, and some local beers. Trying Käsespätzle was an experience, as a German pasta dish with cheese and fried onion which had an amazing taste and very interesting texture.

You know Kölsch but do you know Bönnsch as Well? Tasts completly different, very mild but tasty Beer (and i Love the glases). Atmosphere overall is very rustical and directly in the City Center. I ll come again.

Hearty german restaurant serving german traditional dishes. The price was fair. The food was good with very generous portion. Service was a bit slow but understandable as there were only two women working: taking orders, serving, giving out bills, collecting money, tapping bier and helping asian tourists with the menu.

Very good, your typical German brewery in Bonn centre, we took our dog in and they were super friendly, finding us a place that best worked for us inside. Plates are a bit expensive but they are massive as well so be sure you are hungry when you order one of the mains. We had pork knee (€20) and pork Schintzel (€17), both delicius plates.

Nice atmosphere, good food in generous portions, excellent beer, friendly staff. I was afraid it looked a bit too tourists-oriented when I chose it, but even if it is, it is definitely worth it, especially for short visits in town!

This is by far my favourite German Restaurant in Bonn. The draft beer is smooth and good.

I’ve been here multiple times and it never disappoint. The food is always taste good and the staffs always served with a smile and polite.

I guess its one of the places that I consider as the jackpot of my trip. What a lovely pub, and a tasty restaurant, extremely generous and very very reasonable in pricing. The beer is excellent, the food is tasty the portions are huge, the waiter is exceptional he sat near us and explained every detail we asked about. The bread is mouth drooling, i am going again whenever i am in bonn its the place to be. Enjoy.

They have their own small brewery on site and serve their own beer. Its delicious and I was able to buy the glasses too.

Great service unlike some other places in Bonn. All tourists should come here and you will get: a smile, English menu and great beer. Food is also good! Oh and they have wine if you’re not a beer drinker :)

The hardest part when reviewing a restaurant is that you need a valued unit of measure in order to know if anything is good.
So, to what can you truly compare German food ?
I pondered this question over my first five beers in Bonnsch. They were all excellent. The lighter beer is sweet like a summer garden. Its darker cousin exudes a hoppy and deeply bitter autumnal tang. Both were a resounding success and brewed on the premises. Absolutely world class.
Then dinner arrived. Ordered at random from a paper menu only available in German. I was sitting in the cellar where no internet connection or google translation would come to my rescue.
Clearly, a measure of courage was required. My party and I tucked in.
Sausage, chips and curry sauce are a delicacy, apparently. To me, they are a lazy takeaway; I obviously know nothing.
Beef with gravy and chips, also a safe staple until you find the gravy is sweet and sprinkled with raisins and flaked almonds. Bizarre.
Schnitzel might just be fried meat over which someone has driven their Mercedes before laddling mushroom sauce over it.
Some plates came with soggy veg.
Yes, but why?
German food is confusing and must be decoded.
I decided four more beers were required.
Even if you can’t make head nor tail of what you have ordered the food is lovely in Bonnsch. It’s well presented and well executed; the beef was tender, the sausages were excellent, and all of it was properly seasoned and made with a palpable sense of pride.
I have been assured that this is where all the tourists go, and so they should!
Be a tourist and you will have fun here, and you can spend hours trying to work out that German food is what children create when you give them sweet ingredients instead of crayons, and who wouldn’t love a plate of that?

We visited here twice while in Bonn, the beer is excellent and the glasses are very satisfying to drink from. We had food the second time
Which was a very tasty. We asked for extra hot on the curry wurst and it was disappointingly mild but other than that it is a fantastic spot that we would recommend

Good food and excellent beer.
I'm not in Bonn very often. I've eaten at various places in Bonn. All had good to excellent food choices. Bönnsch stands out for their beer. Today I had there 'Chocolate Malt' Weizen. A very dark, rich Weizen with a slight chocolate taste to the foam and just that tint of weirdness in the aftertaste that brought strong memories of real ale.

Lokal brewery-type pub, with great beer and typical local food. Overall as good as expected.
