Schalkenmehrener Maar

Dauner Maare are 3 volcanic lakes in a row. Wonderful to refresh yourself after a hiking or bike tour. Note that you do not need to go to the official Freibäder but you can also just find a comfortable spot and swim as you wish. The numerous bike trails are really beautiful and some like the Maare-Mosel radweg is also easy for children.

The two volcanic lakes here are close to each other. The smaller is great for swimming and relaxing. The larger lake doesn't allow swimming or boats. There is also a small tower on top of the hill with great panoramo view called the drunkenturm.

A very nice place for a walk or a swim. You can also rent a row or paddle boat. The nearby village has some excellent restaurants and cafes.

Beautiful place, with great hiking trails. Loved. It was pleasure to jump in the fresh water after a few hours hiking. Hint: you do not have to go to the commercial beach. There are other points of access into the water.

Great scenery best experienced on foot. Many hiking trails of different lengths. A couple of cosy businesses along the way offer refreshments.

Nice area for hiking and MTB

Beautiful nature & park. Very peaceful and relaxing. We totally enjoyed going there and our daughter was in paradise. Very good place to go with kids and to enjoy a warm, sunny day. Having a delicious ice cream at the near parking was the cherry on the top.

Beautiful hiking paths around these volcanoes. From the Drink Tower there is an amazing around view of the area.
A must see for nature enthusiasts visiting the Vulkaneifel.

Very nice scenic spot in Eifel Germany. Via the tower drunken turm you can view the Maaren and distant cities in the valley. Must see if you are in the neighborhood
