Hotel Das Rübezahl

We stayed at Hotel Das Rübezahl for 4 nights last month (October 2023). Our stay was extremely relaxing and enjoyable. All the staff were most welcoming and their English was fantastic which was great as our German is very bad. This is the perfect destination where you can choose to do as much or as little as you like. Our room was very spacious and we enjoyed the romantic views of the castles from our balcony. Set in the beautiful countryside we walked to the local village along the river, listening to the many cow bells...it was so special at sunset. There are many hikes in the area to admire the mountains…it appears that Neuschwanstein Castle follows you with views from many vantage points. Not to be missed is the gorgeous Rohrkopfhutte where the views took my breath away. We also took advantage of the free bicycles at the hotel and explored the area. There are many easy designated cycling paths and we rode to visit both the castles, Marienbrucke, St Coloman Church (the church in the meadows) and in to the beautiful village of Füssen. Locks are provided with the bikes so no stress. Back in the hotel there are numerous options to unwind and spoil yourself and your loved one in the garden with two swimming pools, sauna, fire pit…and of course views to the castles. Dining options were a real treat with the breakfast room being my favourite…both bright and cosy. Choices at the breakfast buffet were unlimited and this has to be the largest and most amazing breakfast I have ever enjoyed…so take your time and enjoy the many treats.. I highly recommend staying at this fabulous hotel. I hope you will enjoy your stay as much as we did!

Liked · Stayed here for two nights with my partner and the view was incredible, just as advertised with Neuschwanstein shining in the mountains. Snow on the second day helped add to the magic, too! From the moment we arrived the hotel staff were brilliant, friendly, attentive and engaging. The breakfast was plentiful and suited our needs and we had dinner in the evening in the restaurant which was also delicious. The spa area was very comfortable and had enough space for guests to enjoy it, with nice extra touches like healthy snacks and all sorts of tea available. I would definitely love to stay again. Especially in the summer months.

Disliked · Would have preferred a double mattress, rather than two singles pushed together but it was not too noticeable. More than one jacuzzi would be great and the outdoor pool could have been warmer. The restaurant was maybe a little too high on the price side. Small things that did not detract from the stay.

Best hotel ever! It is located far from the crowded places and with an incredible view of the castles. The dining included is delicious and the drinks are mind blowing.

A beautiful hotel with unrealistic view of the Mountains and castles in the area, spectacular landscapes of nature and green, so quiet and charming. The hotel is extremely clean and the staff were very friendly and caring. The pool was small but warmed and very clean, the sauna was amazing as well, in general it holds a very lovely spa and great ambience. The breakfast was also amazing, with spectacular view and many varieties of options. The bar is lovely at night and the cocktails were great! The hotel had a parking area just in front of the main door, I never had any issue parking there, welcomed welcomed with lovely glass of champagne and spent an amazing time over there!

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. (That is saying a lot.) I visited with girlfriends and can't wait to go back with my husband. I loved the huge, beautiful rooms with luxury bedding. The cleanliness was top notch. The breakfast buffet was insanely huge with so many lovely items to choose from. We also ate dinners here which did not disappoint; everything was so delicious and high end. The wait staff were very attentive and took great care of us both at breakfast and dinner. We had magnificent castle views.We were so busy being tourists we had no time to visit the pool, but it looked beautiful! I can not recommend this hotel with enough enthusiasm and excitement!

We have got a reservation for dinner really fast (in the same day). The person that replied to my e-mails was kind enough to provide more time slots as the slot we wanted was not available.
The atmosphere in the restaurant is really nice and the food is excellent. We even got a really nice table with a view towards the Castles.
Extra points for the staff for being able to prepare a little cake with a birthday candle for my girlfriend (it was her birthday).
Will definitely come again here if we will visit the surrounding areas in the future.
P.S.: favorite restaurant in the whole area of Füssen and Ottobeuren.

Exceptional hotel with an amazing view of the castles, great food, excellent beauty and wellness options, a creative bar and lovely service. Loved the spring water tap in the room!

Wow, what a hotel! Beautiful views of a huge open pasture and the mountains where the castles are located. The room was spotless and very beautifully appointed. The bathroom was gorgeous. I highly recommend staying at this property. we didn't have a chance to take advantage of it, but they offer bikes free of charge.

We stayed in the Tegelberg room and it was very nice with a separate bedroom and the balcony had a wonderful view of the 2 castles. There was no coffee in the room but it was graciously brought up to us on request. The food was always fresh and hot and we had wonderful service from our server named Sebastian. The heated pool was luxurious and the sauna was the largest and best I've ever been in. All of the spa amenities were lovely and high quality. We also got a voucher to visit the Rohkopf but didn't have time to make the trek. Overall we loved our stay and would love to come back to this cozy and welcoming place.

Das Rübezahl is by far one of the best hotels I have ever stayed. I would like to give it 6 stars. When we checked in, my husband overheard that the other couple mentioned to the staff that it was their 14th visit to this hotel. After 6 days I can understand why.
Service - top. The staff was always friendly. One evening my father-in-law didn't feel well so he stayed at his room. We asked the staff if they could bring his diner to his room and they took care of everything.
Food - also top
We have booked full board package and we could have lunch on the first day already. Normally the lunch consists of soup, salad, main course and dessert. You have one option for main course. We asked the staff for vegetarian food and the kitchen even offered us two different dishes.
Every evening dining at das Rübezahl is an enjoyment. Not only was the staff very attentive, they change the tableware and coasters every day. The food, especially the soup, was excellent.
Breakfast - due to Corona regulations, they didn't have breakfast buffet. Instead you fill out a wish list and everything was served on the table. Our whole family felt like a king because we were really spoiled by the staff.
Room - clean, modern and the mattress was very comfortable.
Wellness & Sport - the pool has a stunning view to the new swan castle and the mountains. You can use their bikes for free.
I will definitely come back again.

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff, felt very looked after. The massage was the best I've had and you are able to rent bikes to explore. Will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful time at the Rübezahl! The rooms were spacious and nicely arranged. Breakfast was served at the table and you could choose from a whole range of tasty specials. For lunch you get a three course menu (even though they call it a snack) and the 4 course dinner is definitely something you want to try. The spa area offers lots of space to relax und the beautyalm has a nicely chosen collection of treatments. I can recommend the Allgäuerin arrangement - it‘s a treat especially after a day out in the mountains. There is a lot to do in the area: we visited the castle, took the bikes around the Forggensee and hiked quite a bit - best being that you can always go for a quick swim in one of the many lakes in the area.

This is the Best hotel I ever been! All are kind with you, the view from the room is magical, you can touch the castle! The Spa in the evening is amazing The breakfast full of delicious dishes.

Great hospitality, friendly and relaxing atmosphere, great Bavarian traditional food and beer, breathtaking surroundings. Quite unbeatable!

Absolutely the most perfect place to stay in the area. Very attentive staff, beautiful rooms, and wonderful included breakfast buffet. But the drop-dead unobstructed view of the Castle Neuschwanstein from the balcony stole the show!

Absolutely stunning and highly recommend. Very friendly staff, from check in to departure. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay for our honeymoon/babymoon. Easy access to nearby Füssen and the Neuschwanstein castle, we walked to both but even easier by car.

We arrived in Fussen with reservations only to find that when we went to check in there was no one at the desk. We checked with more than 10 other hotels before finding a room at Das Rubezahl. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, the rooms were amazingly comfortable. The included breakfast was great. Only regret is that we could only stay one night.

The food is delicious! The staff is very friendly and professional. Another super big plus for the perfect view towards the mountains, great atmosphere and big parking lot.
