Very authentic architecture and interior design which make you feel immersed in history. Everything was impeccably clean, the owners and the staff were very welcoming and hospitable. The dinner and breakfast were finger-licking good, with vegetarian options available. All dishes are home made and the ingredients are grown in their own garden/farm or picked early mornings in the forest. We arrived tattered after a bike accident. The owners helped us to sew our torn clothes, repair our broken bike and gave us some medicinal plants to heal our wounds. In some places you feel magic happening... Gasthof Strohmaier is such a place.

We did not stay in the hotel but stopped for a lunch while on a hike from Czech Republic. Very helpful and friendly service. We had some tasty Bavarian meals. The gentleman at the restaurant had good recommendations for us and was knowledgeable. Great spot to stop for nature lovers and travelers alike.

At a first glance, the place seems a bit outdated and quiet.
But don't be deceived!!

The food is just outstanding, the chef is a young but commited lad.
I have been here many times over and always find the food to be amazing. Always fresh, seasonal, local ingredients and no pre bought sauces etc.

The restaurant is old style deco, can be interesting to look about. To bring you back to an older time.

We ate a fantastic salad and meat, I have no idea what was the salad made of but it was so delicious. Also meat was very well cooked, and souce was on the right taste.
There are vegan, pork and beef options.
Qite nice restaurant with clean atmosphere. Also the kindness of the people of the owners is much tastier than the foods.

Fantastic place. We stopped for a lunch here and tasted very good quality local cuisine (pancake beef soup was delicious) and beer. Service was the best.

Extra ordinary, food made with love and local products, everything from the forests and we were so lucky with all the staff treating us like kings !! A must visit

Wir waren in der Nebensaison (Anfang April) dort, wurden sehr freundlich empfangen. Trotz Ruhetag gab es hervorragendes Abendessen für uns. Ein reichhaltiges Frühstück mit hauseigenen Produkten war köstlich. Insgesamt ein super Aufenthalt. Gerne wieder, wenn wir in der Region sind.

Sehr schöne Pension, die Wirtsleute sind herzlich und man fühlt sich direkt Willkommen. Der Gasthof ist eine kleine Zeitreise in die Vergangenheit, die Zimmer sehr hell und gepflegt. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Danke an die Familie Strohmaier für den schönen Aufenthalt in familiärem Ambiente.

Der Gasthof befindet sich in einem schönen Gebäude mit gemütlichen und sauber hergerichteten Zimmern. Dazu gibt es sehr freundliche und herzliche Wirtsleute, einen klasse Service und wahnsinnig leckeres Essen mit Zutaten aus der Region und dem eigenen Garten. Auf jeden Fall eine Reise wert, wir kommen gerne wieder! Vielen Dank an die Familie Strohmaier für das tolle Wochenende!

Die Gastgeber waren ausgesprochen freundlich und das Essen war hervorragend! Obwohl es Nebensaison war und das Lokal eigentlich schließen wollte, wurden wir äußerst großzügig bedient. Wir kommen gerne wieder! (Bewertung = Restaurant)

Naprosto perfektní zážitek, velmi krásná historická budova, příjemná obsluha a velká změna, jen co člověk přejede z české strany. Kdo se dostane do Nového údolí, tak by měl přejet rovnou sem a dát si vynikající pšeničné pivo. Jediná výtka, neberou karty, za to ale berou kromě eur i české koruny.

Ein absoluter Geheimtipp! Wunderschönes Ambiente, hervorragende Küche!!! Hier wird noch richtig gekocht! Echte Feinkost. Sehr zu empfehlen! Wir waren zum 3Kings3Hills Trailrunning Festival zu Gast bei Familie Strohmaier und wurden mit unserem Hund ganz herzlich aufgenommen. Eine wunderschöne Gegend, zum Laufen, Radfahren, Wander perfekt! Wir kommen gerne in 2025 wieder! Danke für Alles!
