Hard Wax

Gday. Made an order for 20x records from Hard Wax, Germany on the 17th February, 2024. They arrived in Australia less than two weeks later.

Hard Wax went out of their way to ensure that the records were expertly packed and could survive their journey around the world intact. They don't use crappy packing materials - they only use stiff cardboard boxing that is made for vinyl records. They include extra internal packing materials as well. They wrap the records in tissue paper and separate clear wrap to keep it from moving during transit.

Everything arrives in its store-bought condition. The pricing including shipping is still 25 - 50% cheaper than if you buy it in Australia from any retail store (including supposed discount music sellers.)

The communication was excellent and I was notified via email as to when the parcel was sent out. The payment process is simple and easy to follow. Shipping information is automatically calculated on their website at the time of ordering and you can change your mind before making a payment to add or deduct items from your order.

I am always reluctant to purchase records from USA or UK because the packing is always lousy and the service is lacklustre. They want your business but treat you like a number; whereas dealing with German companies, like Hard Wax, I know that the experience will be friendly, professional, reliable and hassle-free.

Thanks so very much for the fantastic customer service experience. I know where I will be buying hard-to-find records from again that are impossible to acquire in Australia.

Great selection of techno vinyls! Prices could be slightly lower for second hand, but this is balanced due to the overall service! Skip the rest record shops and go there instead if you are looking for proper cuts.

Great store, mostly focused on electronic music, specifically in techno. The staff is kind and diligent. They have iPads for look into the inventory. Prices are standard, and the order of the records is by label

must-visit if youre into techno or vinyl culture. super friendly staff and you can really see that they care about the music and the culture. a great way to waste 5 hours spinning and listening to records. shame they had to move, i was lucky enough to visit the old location while it was still open, but hey, theres an upstairs stairway in the new location too ;)

Well, this place is legendary. Here you can find items that you will hardly be able to get anywhere else, at least immediately and in one place.

New location of the infamous record store. Perfectly placed by Tresor which I found to be a much easier journey. The selection of vinyl is unrivalled here, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Ideal!

Full of great vinyls, good collection, chance to listen to any of them beforehand in digital format from ipad+headphones, cool area inside the very Tresor building (Berlin Kraftwerk), cool vibes and nice staff. Has also a section for different genres but it is obviously focused on Techno and for it it’s one of the best shops in Berlin :)

Amazing record store you must visit if you like vinyls and electronic music. It’s very cool the way they tag each record with a comment so you can know what are you going to listen!

Absolutely incredible experience for me as a techno enthusiast from Canada. One of the legendary underground hearts of techno in Berlin and it shows.

This is the place to come if you want to discover some absolutely quality underground electronic music and to experience the culture surrounding it- the proper culture- of people who are in it solely for the music.

Even finding the store is an experience in of itself. If it is your first time visiting, you might wonder if you've found the right place or not, it's a little tucked away. Then all the sudden you find yourself in a very unique and thriving record store loaded with connoisseurs and DJs digging for their next record to spin.

New Era for the legendary Hard Wax. Lovely industrial environment, music and vinyl collection in the heart of tresor foundation.

Iconic record store of Berlin. It has moved to Kraftwerk in 2023 following the destruction of the previous location. Their collection range from techno to electro and disco with most of the new releases and some old classics. The staff is very kind and helpful. Multiple turntables are available to listen to records as well as tablets with previews accessible by scanning a QR code on the records label.

Super friendly staff. Enjoyed browsing classics and also receiving club recommendations from the staff 🙏

The best vinyl shop whether you’re looking for new or used vinyl. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, properly cared of records, players and headphones. Highly recommended. I could never leave this place without spending at least 50€ on some dope stuff, so be warned ;)

What an awesome place. First the journey to get to it is fantastic and very memorable. You won’t know you are at the right spot until you see people thumbing through vinyl. If you are just getting into electronic music Hard Wax makes it very accessible by adding descriptions for each and every vinyl. Everything is labeled with a description price and QR code so you can listen to it if it is sealed. The listening stations are also fantastic I could’ve honestly spent all day here. Staff was super friendly and helpful. One of the best record stores I have been too in the world. A must do in you are in Berlin and enjoy techno.

The location is super cool and the staff super helpful and nice. I went there to buy some records for my friend and I was pretty lost as it was my first time going to a vinyl store and buying records, but one guy with glasses working there helped me a lot and recommended me really great records of groovy techno that I asked for, he seemed to have a high knowledge of music. He also explained to me very clear how to use the vinyl player.
The place is a little bit hidden, It took me some minutes to find it just with google maps. Overall I really liked this place.
