Great place for camping and hiking. Not to many people, which is great for communication with nature. If you're planning a long hike make sure to have enough food and water since there are no store around.

I love this lake. Is a cold lake and you can go fishing and also camping around it. It is located in the moor and you have a little place to cook and spend a good time

First impression is like if you were at Mt. Evans in Colorado. But if you dare to walk, you will find out that it is not. Great and peaceful place. Bring a jacket. The wind is cool at that elevation.

A beautiful location, simple but free campsite, amazing, light-pollution free night skies and an absolute killer of a bike ride to get there from Otavalo. 1200m of altitude gain in16km on a cobbled road..... Worth the effort though!

Incredible lake. You can enjoy wonderful landscapes and climb Fuya Fuya mountain. It has two access ways: via Tabacundo and via Otavalo. During the rainy season it is better to go from Otavalo, since the other road is not in good condition

We wanted to camp there but the tourists office told us that was not safe since there’s no signal there and assaults in the night were reported. We did laguna cubilche instead

Mojanda Lake is a fresh water lake that sits in the caldera of Volcano Mojanda. The volcano’s cone was blown off about 200,000 years ago. One can see through the hole in the broken cone Mt. Imbabura. This view is the most impressive view from the Laguna de Mojanda.

Great place to make a day visit if you are in Quito. Road access is pretty good, an SUV and 4x4 is recommended if it has been raining a lot. In dry season any car is able to reach the lake. Bring warm clothes to be able to walk around comfortably.
