Great food and service. Can seat large groups as well. Vegan options available and the bread they bake is terrific!

Definitely pay a visit if you can. Children friendly and there's a cute resident dog, a samoyed.

Based in an old train station house, this is a unique restuarant. Run by an Estonian/Irish couple you can see the authenticity in the Irish inspired menu, and hospitality.

Reccomend asking for off the menu items of the day, food was homely and delicious. Felt very welcomed here, will definitely return. P.s make sure to book in advance in the summertime - can be a busy place.

A lovely restaurant in an old railway station building. The food was really tasty, portions were huge and good value. The sticky toffee pudding was so good and a welcome taste of home. The owner was also welcoming and friendly. Would definitely return.

This place is a treat and getting high marks for a reason - quite a unique building (an old rail station) with some pretty awesome service. Menu is supposedly Irish, as the head chef /owner is from Ireland, but it's actually a bit of a mix. But portions are big and reasonably priced. And the main lady of the house is super welcoming and will easily show you around the building if you're happy to follow her. Top notch hospitality and great food - so make sure you book in advance!

Exceptional food and service. Felt homey and personal. The food was great. Had the fish and chips, which were well seasoned. The fish was like eating a fluffy cloud. Had the pudding for dessert, which came with the house ice cream (caramelized Irish bread and Bailey's in the ice cream) and it was a total banger. All in all, super lit and on fleek.

We have been to Vana Waksal restaurant twice now, and each time we have enjoyed the friendly service and excellent food. The fish and chips is so fresh and highly recommended. Only a 5 minute walk from Aegviidu Station and 50 minutes from Tallinn by train. Definately worth it for a quick hop out of town for lunch or dinner. Thank you Piret. See you soon!

A brilliant surprise in Aegviidu. Wonderful atmosphere, delicious Irish soup (and the other food looked great too) and really friendly staff. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice day trip from Tallinn

Very nice place, excellent food and service.

If you go there, ask for off the menu items ;) We got the last beef steak and duck with noodles. I have nothing but good words about this place! Steak was so beautifully made and so tasty, the sauce on the side was full of flavours. Duck with noodles was also delicious, duck was perfectly cooked, noodles had great taste. Lately not many places can cook duck and beef.... we've got so over cooked duck/beef lately, so it was wonderful to get perfect duck and beef. We were so full, so no dessert this time....but next time we'll come and have some dessert. Recommended place!

Very nice place for having fun

The sticky pudding was divine, no picture available as we ate too fast. Service and rest of food were wonderful as well.

A good reason to go to Aegviidu (possibly the first ever?)

Restaurant is based in a old train station in very authentic atmosphere. Place is runned by estonian-irish couple were husband is cooking real Irish dishes what are amazingly delicious. If you want good food and see sightseeing out of Tallinn, jump into the train, drive 30 min to Aegviidu and you will not regret it - i bet you will return there in first place😁🤘

Where the old roads are meeting with the new, it is much more than just worth stopping there and have a meal.
All of your tastebuds will immediately send that thrill to your entire body & your inner voice starts saying “God, this is what I missed ... for decades.”
It is for sure, once you try it out, will not be the last experience at Vana Waksal.
