I went on a 6-day/5-night guided tour of Cairo and Alexandria with my wife and 5-year-old son on December 19th, 2023. I was a bit apprehensive about the trip due to the recent issues in Gaza, but I did not notice anything out of the ordinary during my 6-day trip.

Egypt Tours Portal wasn't the cheapest option available but frankly, I felt it was worth the money. Right from the point of the initial tour booking, my experience was excellent. Their customer service team was very prompt in responding and was very helpful at all times. As promised, the tour covered all aspects including hotel booking, guided tours, transportation and Lunch at good restaurants. We stayed at the Cairo Pyramids - Steigenberger Hotel, which was a 5-star property with spacious rooms and a balcony that offered a view of the pyramids.

During our trip, we had the pleasure of being accompanied by a dedicated tour guide named Abanoub Raafat. Abanoub is a young, intelligent and articulate Egyptologist who has extensive knowledge of Egyptian history, culture and hieroglyphics. In addition to his expertise, he is also an excellent photographer. Abanoub provided us with detailed explanations of the history of each site we visited and even took the time to explain the hieroglyphics at various locations. He ensured that we felt comfortable throughout the journey in a foreign country and treated us like family.
Our tour began at the Saqqara Necropolis, where our guide Abanoub explained the learning curve of pyramid building in ancient Egypt. We also visited the Saqqara Serapium, which provided context for how the Giza Pyramids were constructed. These experiences, combined with our visits to the Egyptian and National Museums in the following days, gave us a comprehensive understanding of Egyptian history. To top it off, Abanoub's photography skills ensured that we captured the perfect angles in every pic at every site.

I regret not including Luxor in my itinerary and including Alexandria instead. I highly recommend that anyone reading this should book a maximum of three nights (preferably two) in Cairo and about four nights in Aswan and Luxor.

I went with friends and I choose Egypt tour portal for 5 days 4 nights package. Yes it's a very tight schedule but it's suitable for people who have limited time and still want to see all.

Booking and payment:
Booking was smooth, the representative always replied promptly by email. You can always request to them if you wish to have some extra activities.

Upon arrival:
One guy met us at the Cairo airport before immigration and help us with the immigration clearance, it was very smooth.

Cairo:
Then we met our guide, Mohamed Elshemei. For 2 days, he really brought us to see many important places (Giza pyramids, Egyptian museum, Bazaar khan el khalili, the hanging church). He is very knowledgeable about Egyptian history and explained into details to us.
He also recommended us for Saqara pyramids as an add on and yes it was beautiful and couldn't ask for more. He recommended us great souvenir shop and also to create cartouche which what we always wanted. He took care of us and we are glad that he is our guide for our first trip to Cairo, highly recommended for him.

Aswan:
A representative pick up us from the airport and all went well, our guide to Abu Simbel was Amr, nice guy and make sure we are safe in good hands, he explained to us all history before we enter the Abu Simbel as guide is not allowed to go inside.

Luxor:
Our guide was Ghada.
We went for hot air balloon which the view is just bare minimum as all
Blocked by the fog, then we continued to visit Hatshepsut temple, valley of the kings and Karnak temple. The highlight was valley of the kings as we decided to add on extra to see more tombs.
Guide was not allowed to be inside the tomb, so she just explained it outside before we went inside.

Pro:
Super reliable travel agency and guides and they make sure you will be safe and comfortable throughout the trip. Highly recommended.

ISMAIL ALI is truly the most knowledgeable, friendly and polished guide we encountered at Egypt Tours Portal. His breadth of knowledge of the Egyptian Museum, Giza Pyramids and Egypt in general was vast and impressive. He explained each exhibit in detail prior to and during our time together. He gladly answered our many questions while allowing us ample time to explore on our own. He went above and beyond by offering to take pictures and help capture special memories for my husband and I. What stands out the most for us was his patience, kindness and genuine love for Egypt. He was truly a “Gift from God” during our trip of a lifetime.

I Have to say Ahmed who guided us around Giza and Cairo on 1st August 23 was amazing, one of the best tour guides we have ever had on holiday his knowledge and the friendliness he showed to us was extraordinary the whole experience was flawless. From beginning to end we hadn’t expected the level of hospitality and professionalism of not only Ahmed, but Sam Driver, who drove us around Cairo and Giza.
While Ahmed, pointing out importance sites on our journey from the Pyramid the sphinx to the wonderful dinner Cruise on the Nile in Cairo and so much more, stuff dreams are made of.
Then to Aswan to meet up with another group and tour guide was seamless will write a separate post about this ….
Reconnecting with Ahmed and Sam on our last day was a treat the Hanging church the Bazaar we we purchased a few things before going home was wonderful
I thoroughly recommend this trip to anyone

This company did an amazing job of giving us a complete tour of Egypt, both sightseeing, historical, and cultural! Did 2 weeks with 10 person group and it went perfectly. Can't say enough about our guides, Mahmoud Hasan and Mohamed Elshemei.

We booked a trip to Egypt after learning that my husband’s cancer had returned aggressively and progressed to stage 4. He has always wanted to see the pyramids. It was all very last minute as we needed to squeeze it in before he started treatment, the staff all replied so quickly and we had everything booked in less than an hour. Unfortunately we realised that the painkillers my husband needs are illegal in Egypt so we had to cancel - and were so relieved when they waived the cancellation fees for us. We are disappointed we couldn’t go but if my husband is well enough again after treatment we will definitely use this company again.

The trip was absolutely wonderful. 9.5/10 experience. We went for our honeymoon in July 2023. First off, in my opinion, Egypt is one of those countries where a tour guide will benefit you in so many ways. Egypt Tour Portal does a great job taking care of EVERYTHING. When we first got picked up from the airport, a rep helped us fill out the forms and we were out in no time. Getting around Egypt in an air conditioned vehicle is awesome. All the accommodations were five stars. Clean and safe. All meals included which takes a lot of tasks off your plate. Our first tour guide Moses was AMAZING. So sweet, very knowledgeable and really took care of us. We were sad when we had to part ways with him when we flew to Aswan. Overall it was a great trip. Egypt Tour Portal does a great job curating the perfect trip. They worked really well with me in accommodating our needs while creating my itinerary. They are great for that.

Only down side, our 2nd tour guide constantly encouraged us to tip. After tipping for everything from a ride to the boat or someone forcing you to let them carry your bag, it got particularly annoying. Also, on the boat cruise, while the food was good, it was not as authentic Egyptian food as I wanted it to be. (They have to cater to lots of different people so I get it.) One of the days we had lunch at an Egyptian restaurant overlooking the west bank of the Nile and the food was awesome. I wish the tour would include more of that. But overall an amazing experience!

I recently had the pleasure of exploring Egypt with the help of Egypt Tours Portal, and I can't say enough about the fantastic experience they provided. From start to finish, their end-to-end travel package was seamless and hassle-free, making it an unforgettable journey.
One of the highlights of the trip was the incredible selection of destinations covered in the package. We got to explore the iconic city of Cairo, with its rich history and fascinating landmarks. The Nile cruise was a definite highlight, providing a unique and relaxing way to witness the stunning beauty of Egypt's landscapes and historical sites. The tour also took us to the awe-inspiring Abu Simbel and the charming city of Alexandria, each offering a distinct and memorable experience.
The tour company's choice of hotels exceeded my expectations. The accommodations were comfortable, well-maintained, and conveniently located, allowing us to unwind and rest after a day of exploration. Staying in such comfortable settings truly enhanced the overall trip experience.
What truly made this journey exceptional were the knowledgeable and passionate tour guides who accompanied us throughout the trip. Basma, our guide in Cairo, was a wealth of information and brought the city's history to life. Kero, our guide during the Nile cruise, was equally impressive, providing valuable insights into the sights along the river.
The transport provided by the company was of top-notch quality. Whether it was AC cars or buses, the vehicles were well-maintained and comfortable, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable ride to each destination.
Overall, I can confidently recommend this tour company to anyone looking to explore Egypt in a fun and relaxing manner. They made sure every aspect of the trip was meticulously organised, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the wonders of this ancient land. With knowledgeable guides, top-quality transport, and excellent hotel choices, the experience was truly amazing. I am grateful to the tour company for creating memories that will last a lifetime, and I can't wait to return to Egypt with them for another adventure.

Truth to be said, we didn’t know what to expect of a tour to Egypt. Never had good experiences with tours to Bali and Bintan.

Nora changed that.

Nora of Egypt tours portal really took care of us like family for our 2 days in Cairo. She had to endure the blistering Cairo sun at 40degrees while giving us a comprehensive explanation of the Giza Pyramids. It must have been so hard to do this while fasting! Her knowledgeable suggestions of the best places to take a camel ride along the desert were very much appreciated. The photographs that she took for us at Giza pyramids honestly look better than our wedding photographs. I’m thinking of enlarging them to hang on our walls when we get home. The Egyptian museum was stifling warm and she actually passed us her own personal portable fan for our comfort. She brought us to this hole-in-the-wall store to get our kitschy souvenirs that we requested for. Nora understood our requirements that we are useless at haggling in bazaars so she found us a fixed-price store to let us shop to our hearts’ contents. She even got us some seasonal fruits to snack in the hotel! She never tried to hard-sell anything and we felt that she honestly had our best interests at heart.

All in all, man, am I glad to have Egypt tours portal and Nora to bring us around Cairo on a private tour.

It was evident that Nora really treats her guests kindly. She was really helpful to our questions of how much to tip and etc. I only wished that we have given a bigger tip. She was that nice. No kidding. We usually do not do tours, preferring free and easy trips.

We weren’t have enjoyed Cairo as much without her. Egypt tours portal also has a guy who waited for us before the immigration clearance right when we disembarked! That made us feel really special and exclusive. It was an eye-opener to see how things work in Egypt.

We felt safe and happy with Egypt tours portal so far! Now onward to our Nile cruise with Omar in the same company!

3 Days Best of Egypt

We booked for a 3-day trip (3rd to 5th Dec 2021) from Hurghada which includes Cairo, Aswan (Abu Simbel) and Luxor. It was well planned and nicely executed by Egypt Tour Portals

Day 1:
Picked up from our Hotels in Hurghada and transferred to Hurghada Airport for Cairo.

Cairo:
We met our tour guide Mahmood, and he was amazing in explaining the history of the place and he led us to a mesmerizing day through the Giza Pyramids Complex, the sphinx,
the fun-filled camel ride around the pyramids and the famous Egyptian Museum. He Also helped us get a camel ride for better view of the Pyramids.
Mahmood was kind enough to negotiate on our behalf to get us a better deal on souvenirs.
We enjoyed each moment spent in Cairo, I would recommend him for great experience in Cairo.

In the evening he dropped us at the airport for out flight to Aswan.

Aswan and Abu Simbel:
we stayed overnight at in a hotel in Aswan and early morning stayed our journey to Abu Simbel with our guide.
Day2:
The Abu Simbel was indeed a nice experience especially given the history behind it. Even though it was a long journey to Abu Simbel, it was worth it.
Once we are back at Aswan, we had lunch and got our train to Luxor.

Luxor:
As soon as we get down at the Luxor train station, we were greeted by our tour guide Samar and transferred to hotel. She is one the nicest lady we met in Egypt.
Day3:
She knew Luxor history very well and went way beyond her duty to make us feel comfortable.
From sharing the history of Luxor, taking us through the sands of time in the valley of kings, sailing us across the river Nile for lunch and serving us sugarcane juice she did it all so perfect.
Samar is the perfect hostess, and I couldn’t recommend her highly enough.
At the end of our Trip, we were transferred to our hotel in Hurghada.
We enjoyed Egypt a lot specially with Egypt Tour Portal and hope to come back soon.

We used Egypt tours portal to arrange our four day River cruise from Luxor to Aswan. It was high season in February but tourist arrivals were way down because of the conflict in Palestine. We sailed on the Beau Rivage river boat. Throughout the tour, the agents were very helpful and always responded immediately to enquiries and questions. Everything on the itinerary was exactly as advertised, and our departures were always promptly on time. All transfer vehicles were new, well-maintained, Toyota minivans. The boat accommodations and food were above average. By comparison, it seemed like we had one of the best boats and crew. In terms of service and hospitality, I would without hesitation, rate Egypt Tours Portal as excellent. Our guide on the river boat was Waleed from Luxor. He was kind and extremely knowledgeable and very enthusiastic and animated in his presentations. Whether related to ancient Egypt or current local culture, there was no question he wasn’t able to answer. After the hustle and bustle of navigating Cairo on our own without a guide, we felt completely at ease, and very well looked after. Waleed patiently accommodated side visits for shopping and we never felt rushed. After our cruise was over, we had to change our itinerary because of a last minute cancellation by the airline. We called Egypt tours portal and they came through in arranging a last minute hotel stay and airport transfer. They even set us up with a delightful private tour to a desert oasis on our very last day, with only two hours notice. Overall, Egypt can be challenging to navigate as a non-local, especially if you can’t speak Arabic. Hire a guide and use these people.
The only complaints were the river boat not providing free drinking water and the relentless barrage of street hawkers, but that’s Egypt. Overall, a once in a lifetime experience.

Wow. This was an incredible holiday.

Myself and my wife decided to visit Egypt through Egypt Tours Portal (ETP), who were incredible in devising a fantastic itinerary, packing in sights for Cairo, Giza and Alexandria within 4 days. From their initial communications to their warm emails, we really recommend this agency to anyone considering visiting Egypt.

This trip would not have been possible without our amazing tour guide Hany Mubarak. Hany was so friendly, warm and attentive, who was knowledgable about all the sites we visited. We had such a good laugh with Hany, and he made the trip so much more fun. We miss him already, and he deserves a lot of praise.

Likewise, our driver was great too. He was always so friendly and punctual, with the air conditioned mini bus always presented to a great standard.

The hotel that was picked by ETP (Concorde El Salam Cairo) was simply incredible too.
Elegant and comfortable, with such a great range of delicious restaurants. The facilities and room were exceptional, which made the trip even more memorable.

Thank you so, so much for a surreal holiday.
We will definitely be using this agency in the future. Simply incredible.

We did a 12 day tour from Cairo down to Abu Simbel. We were so well taken care of and the organisation of the tour so managed so well! During the trip we had two tour guides Mohamed Heder in Cairo and Mahmoud Nour from Luxor. Both our tour guides were so incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make the trip an amazing experience for us. They also were both so excited and passionate about sharing their knowledge of ancient Egypt with us which made the tour so much more interesting. I couldn’t recommend this tour company and the guides enough!!

Highly recommend Ahmed El Gohary tourist guide in Cairo, he's very knowledgeable, professional and helpful navigating all your needs.

Also we highly recommend Ahmed Beh Haggag aka Ramses 51 we had him guide us in Aswan, his friendly, very funny and knowledgeable guiding helped us understand the wonders of Abu Semple Temple and the new dam.

Samer Nagi was also a great guide through luxor, informing us of the extensive history of the Valley of the Kings, luxor and Karnak temples.

One part we would recommend reconsidering is taking the night train between Aswan and Luxor, it's not a very comfortable experience, a plane or road trip would be better.

Also in terms of tipping, tip what you can afford and not follow the advice of the locals.

Overall Egypt Travel Portal (in particular Mr Shorouk Muhammed from the management team) accommodated all of our needs, best hotels were provided post negotiation.

I highly recommend spending the extra $ and going through them as we were given a VIP service, seeing the generic travel agencies made us realise it was definitely worth every cent we spent!

Aswan: Move n Pick (new one) the best hotel in Egypt we have seen thus far

Cairo: Steigenberger Pyramids had the best view (ensure you negotiate the best views in advance)

This was a trip of a lifetime! The Egypt Tours Portal tour guides we had were excellent. We did the 9 day tour and had 3 different tour guides for the 4 cities we visited. Our guide for Cairo and Alexandria, was Yasser. He was extremely personable, knowledgeable, always on time, and funny. In Aswan, our guide was Ahmed, and he too did an excellent job and was well versed with our tour. This trip was exceptional because of the guides we had as well as the history.

We booked the tour 1 week before the tour's start date. Egpyt Tour Portal was able to work their magic on arranging a seamless tour without missing a beat. Shorouk and Muhammad were the main in charges of our tour planning.

The communication has been very prompt and professional. We travelled around a few cities. Either the agency and/or the tour guides contacted us one day before via WhatsApp or Email about the pick-up and some instructions. Everything is well organised. If possible, perhaps the contact details could have been spelt out in part of the itinerary for people who likes to know everything beforehand. But it doesn't bother us.

During the tour, we realised that, despite the offered tour package, customisation of the tour is still possible, which is great for people who likes flexibility. Very accommodating.

Mr Shemi, our tour guide in Giza, was very knowledgeable and gave us helpful tips. He told us all the amazing stories about the pyramids.

In Luxor and Aswan, we had Mr Mahmoud the story teller. We time travelled back the glory times of the accient Egpyt by the stories told by Mr Mahmoud, who was very detailed and gave life to those wall crafting. We were in a group of 17 and many of us has different schedules due to the said customisations. For the photophile like us, we barely have time to have a close look of those magnificent tombs and temples. Perhaps cutting short or skipping some unexpected shoppings during the packed schedule day would allow us to have more time for what we signed up for.

Mr Abanoub was not only the tour guide in Cairo and Alexandra, and also a photographer who shared photography tips and took great photos of us. He was very knowledge and provide great hospitality. He went an extra mile to be sure all our needs met.

Overall an awesome experience.

The Pyramids and Sphinx tour led by Ahmed Refaat was truly exceptional. His detailed explanations brought the ancient wonders to life, providing fascinating insights into their history. Ahmed's friendliness and passion for the subject made the tour not only educational but also enjoyable. His in-depth knowledge and warm demeanor enhanced the entire experience, making it a memorable journey through Egypt's iconic landmarks. He also knows where to take AMAZING pics!! Hassan was a great driver, highly recommend this tour!
