Al Hambra Hotel

The hotel itself was my favorite of the 3 I stayed in during my Egypt trip.

The owner and staff were beyond welcoming—I was taken on a personal tour of the area by the owner, including hearing stories about his family's life in the area over generations and having what I think were freshly picked olives from a tree we passed. He warned me about common local scams, recommended what's worth seeing, and personally walked me to the ferry so that I reach it without getting harassed away by motorboat/felucca owners. He took me to a high-quality cotton store, where (even if he did get a % cut) I saw scarves being hand-made and yarn being spun, and bought 2 gorgeous scarves for $30, cheaper than I'd get similar quality back home. He was always ready to help, including when an excursion canceled on me last-minute, and checked in on how I'm doing throughout my stay.

The majestic courtyard from the photos really is as great as it looks, and it was pleasantly cool sitting there for a post-breakfast coffee.

I enjoyed breakfast indoors and in the courtyard, but I’m sure you could also take it up to the roof terrace for a great view over the town & Nile—I simply didn’t feel like climbing all those stairs first thing in the morning, but did head up there some evenings for nighttime views, and once at sunrise to watch the hot air balloons parade across.

It is a 3 star hotel but it was well worth our money. Clean, plenty of warm water, spacious rooms/apartments, comfortable beds, friendly, polite and very helpful staff.
Excellent location on the west bank. Close to the ferry, right accross from Luxor temple, and close the main attractions in the west bank. This deserves an excellent review for us.

This is still a 3 star hotel, though. Apartment looks old, little bit rundown. Nevertheless, we were very happy. We are a family of 4 (2kids).

Nearby restaurant, Sayeda Zainab is also recommended.

I don't normally write reviews while still at the hotel, but the so far amazing stay at this hotel has made me. First off this hotel, even compared to some western ones, is beautiful looking. It's nice Court yard and balconies really make it seem like a higher end hotel. Rooms are spacious, and really clean. The roof top terrace is nice and offers great seating and views around.
The hotel is a short walk up from the ferry (about 5min) so although it's on the west Bank it very easy to just get on the ferry and cross to luxor Temple and all the shops are restaurants.

While staying here the staff has been absolutely amazing. No joke, they try had to make you feel like family and I have been absolutely welcomed. I honestly can not think of a hotel where I had better hospitality than this al hambra in all my travels. If you have the opportunity, choose this hotel.

I stayed here for a couple nights on my first time in Luxor, and when I come back I will definitely be staying here again. The rooms were very cleans, the staff was very friendly and helpful with what we needed (tour guides, transportation to and from hotel) and it is located in a convenient spot near a small supermarket and a fantastic restaurant called Al Sayeda Zainab Restaurant. This hotel is located on the West Bank of Luxor where it is more countryside as opposed to the city side (East Bank) which was nice because it is a quiet area. Also, the hotel itself is very beautifuly designed. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting this historical area.

Very enjoyable stay, only stayed two nights. The room we stayed in was clean. The staff especially Mohamed were friendly, last day enjoyed tea and coffee on the rooftop with very nice views. They were situated near the sites we wanted to see valley of the Kings, Queens and the other tombs. Nicely priced drinks and the Egyptian tea was very nice. Overall a nice hotel with staff to match. Definitely would recommend.

Everything was really good in Al Hambra Hotel. The room was clean and had towels, fridge, air conditioner, and balcony. The staff ware really friendly and helpful with us every time. They have different kind of tours if you need it.
Also they gave us the room before the check in hour so that was really good for us!
We came here because a friend recommended us this hotel. We are so happy and we can recommend you this Hotel for your next holiday in Luxor!

I searched online for quite a while looking for a nice hotel on Luxor's west bank and came to the conclusion that Alhambra hotel was it and boy was I NOT disappointed!! It is an extremely clean hotel with an incredibly friendly staff who will bend over backwards to ensure that your stay is as comfortable as possible. If you are on a budget and looking for a nice and clean place then this is it. I came alone this time but will definitely be back with my family!!

My base for the week on the West Bank of the Nile . Locally owned hotel. Friendly helpful staff. Near to ferry across the Nile to East Bank and main Luxor . Roof terrace .

I loved staying there. So close to the west bank tombs. People are so nice. The location is so quite. And the service was great. I'd love to go back there.

Amazing place for the price, down a dirt street but is worth the trip,west side of the mile is a much less touristy place ,check out wolf restaurant while you are staying here
