Fascinating tombs of some of the pharaohs. Many are very well preserved and there is beautiful decoration on the walls and amazing scenes from the kings life. Tutankhamun's tomb contains his mummified remains in a hermetically sealed casket. It's amazing how these were dug into the hills and concealed. Even more amazing how these were discovered.

Incredibly interesting and a must see! We paid extra to go in to Tutankhamen’s tomb. You have to be quite fit and able to go down in to the tombs, it’s a lot of steps and quite warm. Definitely pay the extra 20 Egyptian pounds to take the buggy and save the massive walk.

It is a must visit place in Luxor. The interiors of the Tombs are absolutely breathtaking. It is a great insight to the Egyptian Culture. It could take some time to walk around but it is worthy. They allow you to visit into three tombs with the entry ticket. My suggestion is to visit Tombs - 2, 8 and 11 (they are stunning). We have also paid extra for Tutankhamun tomb, but in all honesty, you may skip it if you have already visited Egyptian museum where you see mummified bodies. It only has his mummy and is not worthy of the huge price.
It is hot here, make sure you carry hat, sunglasses and keep yourself hydrated.

A place probably known to everyone who was even a little interested in history.
It's nice to be there, although it's not as spectacular on the outside as the temples of the queens.
Several tombs are available to visit in the ticket price. For the more famous ones you have to pay extra.

I was there in December and the weather was beautiful for sightseeing. It must be hell there during the summer months because there is no place to hide from the sun.

We have been to King Tut tomb and saw the mummy it’s dark skin they had to burn to take the golden mask off, King Snefro as well; colors are amazing still in good condition good, atmosphere surrounding you in mystery and magnificent atmosphere, makes your brain wondering what was going over there that time!
Very highly recommended; I would call it valley of secrets and wonders.

Spectacular location, the mountains are incredible and of course, the tombs are incredible and it's a truly amazing feat of ancient engineering and art to see!! See them all, some are quite steep so the climb back up can be a challenge but worth it! Pay extra for Ramses and Seti!

A place that you must visit when you come to Egypt, but be prepared. It is a popular tourist destination and bus loads of tourists are constantly arriving, resulting in long lines at each tomb entrance. Expect to wait 20 to 30 minutes to enter, 15 or 20 minutes (often standing in the hot sun) to enter each tomb that you want to see, and about 20 minutes or more to tag along in line behind everyone else to walk through the tombs.
It is also very hot inside some of the tombs. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and take plenty of water with you. Consider wearing a hat or carrying a small umbrella.
Guides are not allowed inside the tombs, but if you hire a guide it is very helpful as they can explain each tomb and its inhabitants very well for you.
Also, (very important!) if you want to see the tomb of King Tut, access is very limited so buy your tickets in advance.
Plan on at least 4 hours here or more to see as much as possible.
There are restrooms available and a small store/cafe where you can buy snacks, water, or other drinks.

The Valley of the Kings is an awe-inspiring ancient Egyptian burial site near Luxor. Exploring the tombs of pharaohs like Tutankhamun gives you a fascinating glimpse into their rich history and culture. The intricate hieroglyphics and well-preserved artifacts make it a must-visit for anyone curious about Egypt's past. The impressive architecture and the feeling of stepping back in time create a truly memorable experience for visitors.

Best thing about the tombs here is the beauty and preservation of the organic colours thought the years which is mind blowing.
My ticket gave me a visit to only 3 tombs out of 10, you can choose which tomb to visit but some of the tombs are for an extra price

Recommend visiting 14 and 16. You need to buy a separate ticket for Tomb of Tutankhamun (KV62) where the king's mummy is exhibited.

We had a fantastic experience visiting here but it appears prices have gone up 100% since last year. The price is now 600 egp each and have to pay with a bank card. They no longer accept real money and this is the case for all tourist attractions

Amazing to see how they have done 4000 years ago. For $12 you can visit 3 tombs but special tombs cost extra. My top tombs

1. SETI I it cost $30 bugs extra but totally worth it and you can skip rest. The amount of work is 10x better to others so why not spend when you came all way down here 😀
2. Ramses V and VI it cost $5 but again worth it
3. Ramses IV and XI are part of general ticket and very good

Some king tombs are very deep, some have very steep slopes. It is very stuffy and hot inside, plus very dusty. You have to buy an extra ticket to enter King Tut's tomb. Don't forget to wear a mask and take plenty of water and an umbrella with you.

Of course this place cannot be ruled out. A must visit place when going to Luxor. It has the most beautiful sites and tombs and are extremely well preserved. If you have any chance to visit the tomb of Sety I, do it. Doesn't matter the cost. This is the best of all.

The valley of the kings is an amazing place to visit and a must see when you are in Luxor! With so many rock cut tombs of the pharaohs all in one place. It’s interesting to see how detailed the drawings and engravings are on the walls of the tombs. They say the bigger the tomb the longer the pharaoh lived since they start the tomb once they become a pharaoh and stop once they die. Allow enough time if you want to see many of them. Some are very steep to get into and it could get very hot in the desert.

Wow, this place is massive. You need all day to get around every tomb.
If you go in Rameses lll, be prepared for a lot if steps down and then back up.
The tombs are impressive, especially Tutankhamen, who is still laid there protected with glass.

Plenty of different tombs to check out, some deeper than others and some with prettier hieroglyphs than others but all interesting to witness. Worth going to at least 2 or 3.

Must visit attraction in Luxor. A major highlight.

Came here at about 10.30am after the early morning crowd has left. Went to Medinet Habou first where the crowd was a lot lesser.

The entrance fees for 2024 just went up to 600EGP, a 50% increase over 2023😱. That's steep. That give entrance to 3 tombs.

3 more tombs came with extra cost, with Seti 1 at 1800EGP (way to expensive) and Tuthankamun at 500EGP (nothing much inside despite the fame). Chose Ramesses V & VI at 180EGP as recommended by our guide. Have the vibrant colours similar to Seti 1 and Not found in other tombs that comes with the entrance ticket. Worth the extra charge.

Though the sun scorching, the good weather and low humidity of winter in January made it so comfortable.

You can skip the 20EGP for the buggy ride from the ticket office to the entrance. It's an easy 200m+ walk only, especially during winter.

Something that you have to see to believe, the entrance to the tombs can be very steep and stifling hot once inside so wear light clothes and plenty of water , also make sure you are fit enough to undertake- be careful of the hawkers on your way back to the entrance to the park
