Luxor Travels

Booked the short Valley of Kings private tour through Viatour operated by Luxor Travels.
Because it doesn't say what time the pick up from hotel would be I wrote additional message through that website and later in the afternoon rang them directly. Both responses were 8am,
This morning we were ready by 7.50am and left with our guide Rajab and driver Mohammed in a clean and cool car for our 40 minute drive.
Note this is during Ramadan and they are fasting during the day in 40C temperatures.
We started driving through the East Bank of the city to cross over the Nile bridge and along the West Bank we were given a good narration of history, before our first stop at the Colossus on Memnon and Temple site.
Plenty of time to look and take photos.
Then continue past the big row of alabaster makers and shops before turning at Howard Carter's small villa and up to the Valley of the King's. A new tarmac road leads to a big car park and plenty of tourists going through the bazaar with many shop keepers trying to sell you souvenirs before the Visitor Centre where you go through the bag scan and security - not sure they are really looking for anything. But the scale model shows in the middle shows every tomb location and also at the back look underneath to see the size of each cave.
At this point you choose if you want to see a extra caves including Tut Ankh Amon
Once your tickets get purchased then we hop.on the small buggy that takes you to the next gate and ticket gets torn, then walked up to the shady area for the next installment of the history guide.
Rajab had postcards that identified the key elements before he recommended 3.
One needs good footwear and some fitness as it's fairly steep down and stairs back up in the heat.
Quite incredible history and condition of this site, why do people then touch it?

My biggest disappointment in Egypt has been the amount of litter and cigarette butts everywhere including in these tombs. This must stop and there are bins located at most of the shelters.
Top tip given to us before hand - avoid the WC's they are very basic and no paper, avoid.

Rajab was a very polite guide who answered our questions and Mohammed drove well that we very satisfied overall.

Incredible! We had an egyptomogist with a masters degree as our guide, Khalid! He was so thorough in his history of each person and timelines. We finally understood how the people and stories we have already heard about, fit into a chronological time line. The sites were breath taking. Massive and still with original paintings. Khalid is great at taking beautiful pictures and answering any questions.

Very happy with our experience with Rajab (the great haha). We gave him a list of things we wanted to do and he took care of everything. Prices were great and we were able to see everything we wanted in Luxor!

Luxor Travels was extremely helpful in making sure myself and my partner were both safe and extremely satisfied with the services we were given.

The tour guide Hassan was exceptional, our drivers Ahmad and Saaed were punctual and made for comfortable rides, and the hot air balloon ride at sunrise which the team organized was a clear highlight of the trip.

Luxor Travels did an outstanding job with all of the private tours we took with them. We did a 2-day tour of Luxor, a trip to Abu Simbel, another trip to see unfinished obelisk, Philae Temple and Nubian village, and lastly a trip to the Pyramids of Giza.

In Luxor - we had Khalid for the West Bank and Saber for the East Bank. Both gentlemen are AMAZING tour guides! They are both very passionate about what they do and took the time to explain everything to us. They shared so much of the ancient Egyptian history with us. The tombs in Valley of the Kings are incredible! Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, Karnak, and Luxor temple are all quite stunning in their own way. VERY much worth making this a two day trip. It’s simply too much to see in one day.

In Aswan - we had Abdul! Like Khalid and Saber, he did not disappoint! Soo much information and so many great conversations on our way to Abu Simbel. On the second day we visited Philae temple, unfinished obelisk, and Nubian village. The timing of it all was perfect and the boat ride back to the hotel from the village was perfection,

In Cario - we had Mohamed who took us to the pyramids. Very informative and took great care of us while we were there. He also stopped by the lab so we could get our PCR test.

All of these gentlemen were extremely knowledgeable and very passionate about what they do! I HIGHLY recommend Luxor Travels for all of your Egyptian tours! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was an amazing tour arranged by Mr. Ragab. The tour was timely organized even though was on a short notice, provided with all promised measures and fantastically executed. It was compact one day tour covering all major attractions, precise at a very competitive cost- I belive the lowest of any provides can promise. Our guide Khaled was an amazing Egyptologist with a tremendous grip over his knowledge in History. He answered to all our queries and made the tour more fun and interesting than what I could even expect. They arranged everything we demanded with flexibility during our trip for our convenience. Kudos to both Ragab, Khaled and whole Luxor Travel team for their humble hospitality shown during the day tour. I would never have a 2nd thought about choosing them when I go there again and I would recommend Luxor Travel for best tour experience at Luxor

First and foremost he was on time and professional.

Second, he was understanding about all our little Knicknacks that we needed on the way to the site:

-Lady hygiene stuff

-Forgot to change money into local currency (he was chill about it anddd found us a local currency exchange at a very fair rate)

-needed to change clothes in the car

-stop by the market for drinks en route

So knowledgeable, and so precise.

Also , super flexible to the varying speeds and interests of everyone on the tour.

He was also really respectful to other tour guides. As you can imagine they’re all competing for airtime and silence at the sites, super classy.

He’s also fun!!!!!!

So when you’re in Egypt, and you know you’re having trust issues with people around you, he is the person you can trust.

Totally reasonable prices!!!

We did 6 tours slip in 2 days with agency, all of them on a very well organized way, and most important Ragab (the manager) made the tours as we ask, we choose everything.
He assigned us a guide Mohamed (a very nice guy). We especially recommend the hot air ballon, Karnak temple and valley of the kings if you are short of time.

Nosotros hicimos 6 tours separados en 2 días con la agencia, todo ellos súper bien organizados y lo más importante es que Ragab (el dueño de la agencia) armo el tour como nosotros se lo pedimos, pudimos elegir qué hacer y cuando.
El nos asignó un guía llamado Mohamed (muy buena gente). Si estás corto de tiempo no podes perderte el paseo en globo, el templo de Karnak y el Valle de los reyes.

He tomado dos tours con Luxor Travels, uno conociendo los antiguos monumentos en Luxor y Aswan, el otro visitando Monte Sinaí y el Desierto Occidental. La organización logística de los viajes fue ejemplar, y el guía, Ragab El Motgalye, es encantador y muy conocedor de su país y su historia.
