Marina Philae Temple

Superior experience, by entering the gates of this place you'll feel like you travelled by time to the pharaohs age !! Surrounded by the carved symbols on the walls, the whole atmosphere is incredible!!

This temple was moved to the current location piece by piece. It is very impressive in person, considering the scale of the move. Some of the buildings were constantly underwater before the move. Even with years of erosion, the architecture details are still very well preserved. The architecture style has heavy Greco-Roman influence. There are a number of altars set up by Coptic Christian, who lived in the temple for refuge. Unfortunately, many of the ancient carvings were defaced by the Coptics. The current temple is only accessible by motor boats. The ride to the island is also a very scenic experience. There is also a small cafe on the island that sells snacks and drinks.

Really enjoyed this temple, with Egyptian, Greek, and Roman influences, including some of the last recorded hieroglyphics. Access by boat, separate from ticket entry. We paid 600 for 2x adults and 2x students for entry, and negotiated 400 for a return boat with 1hr on island (which was just about long enough)

It's amazing experience to visit a place that exists for thousands years and touch the history.
The sad part of this visit to see that people tried to destroy images of ancient gods and put new writings. 😔

Nice place to visit in Aswan. You have to take 20 min boat ride from marina port. Don't pay more than 70 egp per person for round trip boat if you are not egyptian. Philae temple is very good and have many photo spots.

It's by the lower (the one near city) dam.
You have to take ferry to get there as temple is on the island. Ferry cost from LE 150 (€7) per boat (flaka). Its cheaper if you join other tourist on the spot.
From the ferry you get nice view of the other very pretty islands and the dam.

Phila temple is my favourite... Its own island temple inside nile river over mesmerising natural view and so peaceful you can visite it day and night for evening light and sound show

You go there with a falouka, enjoy 1 hour this big temple in the middle of the Nil !
And you can enjoy the entry where you can found few cats relaxing in the fresh area 😍

A lot of falouka to go, try to deal the prices because they can ask a bit expensive.

Dont forget to turn around the temple, behknd you have a little "garden" from where you can enjoy a beautiful view !!

This temple had been moved to an island, and the only way to get to it was on a boat. The boats were powered by stinky two-stroke engines. Luckily, the trip was quite short but well worth it. The temple was stunning and quite well preserved. If you come to Egypt this is one not to miss.

A must see temple that was moved after the high dam was build and it was a great project by UN and sound and light at night is must see too.

Great little island treasure. Also where the temple or love is at. So make sure to get a kiss. Very peaceful & great are to spend a night or two next to the temple.

If you want to pay a smaller amount for the boat, have a group share the boat, as there is a sign outside saying that 200 Egyptian pounds can be paid in the boat for a maximum of eight people.✨👌
