Funicular Aeri de Montserrat

If you are planning on going up to Monserrat then take the Funicular and save yourself the drive up to the peak. It’s fun, looks awesome and it’s the best option for families.
Everything is well managed, clean and efficient. Book your tickets in advance and get in the queue as soon as you arrive. There were only 2 cabins in operation (one in each direction) and each takes about 23 people so expect a little wait.

Great views. Very nice people. Pretty crowded. Give yourself extra time up and down. The train takes you right to the funicular. Just pick the Aeri stop. If you miss the train, it runs every HOUR. It gets pretty crowded too (standing room only).

The cake car and rack train are operated by different companies , so if you book the tickets early like us and not able to get out at aeri Montserrat station , you loose money and get screwed .

Favourite day trip from Barcelona! Bought delicious cheeses and fig cake to take back to Canada. Picked up sandwiches and wine for a lunch on our hike. Book the funicular.

The customer service was good, they understood English and was very helpful. If you're afraid of heights, this really is not that bad. Fun for 10 minutes. Great time to take pictures (don't be rude and put your camera in front of other people's faces)! Very easy to park and go

There is really easy parking here. The train stop is also right here. The ride up to Montserrat Abbey is about five minutes. I did purchase my ticket in advance but I don’t think it’s necessary. It runs about every 5 to 10 minutes. It’s a spectacular way to take in the views.

The experience was amazing. In not even 5 minutes we're up in the mountains over Montserrat. It's worth to experience at least once in life. Up, it's a small city built with stores, hotels, restaurant, toilet facilities, everything you need to. You can also get down with the train or on the other side, with a smaller kind of train for tourists.

High tech way to get from the bottom to the top of the mountain in less than 5 minutes. Great views as you ascend to the top and descent back to the terminal.

Terrific ride. Get there early in the morning and wait for the crowd to take the 1st aerial so that you will have more room inside.

Absolutely worth the money! 8€ one way or 13€ round trip.

We went in afternoon around 1pm and there was little to no line going up and coming down at 7pm for the last cable car.

One thing to note is that on weekends there are less R5 trains back to Barcelona -- they come every hour at XX:45, so if you don't want to be waiting for a train for 45min like us, I'd catch either a XX:15 or XX:30 cable car down the mountain.

Great to experience. It is very busy, so need to make sure you’re near a window if you want to see everything.

So great! Lots of parking and convenient and scenic ride to the top. Definitely recommend to avoid trying to find parking on the mountain itself, which is extremely crowded and full of traffic.

Such an amazing time. Take the tram to the top top top and spend hours hiking or just taking in the breathtaking views.

Beautiful place. You have to be in physical good shape to visit. Very deep and very up hills. But it worth to there.

If you want to get the full experience of your Montserrat day trip, definitely go for the cable car experience! The €24.50 Montserrat transport ticket you buy from the metro already includes a return ticket with it and i can say it's definitely worth it! 💖 You get to ride it with 20-25 other people so getting a nice window spot is based on luck. Notheless, it was definitely one of the highlights of the trip!

Great experience. We took 2 dogs with us, and they travelled for free. Fabulous views.

It was much better than expected.
We fall short of time to enjoy the full montserrat.
Metro train, Cablcar (ropeway), Hill train, almost vertical Mono rail all at one point along with paragliding & architectural marvel.

Bought train ticket + cable car combo at plaza España station, very easy to connect
