Great place to visit, very interesting but horrific. Very reasonable price to enter. Certainly to graphic for young children, would recommend older teens upward age group. But certainly worth a visit.

Very good. Here you can know how the mankind can be insane and cruel.

This museum offers a permanent exhibition dedicated to the various instruments of torture, punishment, humiliation and capital punishment, used during the period in which the Inquisition operated. The objects are original and were actually used for such purposes.

Santillana del Mar is definitely worth visiting as it is not far from Santander. The Museum of torture is small but impressive and it matches with the town very well. I recommend!

Fascinating and horrific in equal measure! This is not entertainment. However it is still highly recommended. It is truly distressing to see what mankind is capable of. Terrible cruelty is on display in very corner of this museum. Essential for adults so that we can protect our world from descending to these or similar acts again. The incredible beauty and peaceful nature of the town outside this museum exaggerated the experience for me. I brought a 13 year old boy with me thinking this would be fun. He was pretty upset so I would not recommend bringing smaller children to this. Go... but be ready to be shocked.

History is always important. The museum is cheap, but not for the faint of heart. Reading all those torture methods certainly needs a lighter program after to brighten up a little. The architecture and lighting also helps to set the ambience of heaviness, and it does feel like a brief time travel inside, which is fascinating and slightly horrifying at the same time.

Its located in one of the many backstreets of this medieval town. We found it by pure accident while wandering the cobblestone streets. 4 floors full to the brim of gruesome examples depicting poor victims meeting their grizzly end. Cheap entry too.

Good museum, but - in fairness the real torture was the English translations.

Worth the visit but I will not recommend this to be seen by children. You can see many torture instruments with description alongside from the Inquisition period. It is a small museum but interesting.

I'm note sure how to really describe somewhere that proves man's inhumanity to man. To see the real articles of torture accompanied by descriptions and sometimes drawings/photos. This place used to be based on the Inquisition, now it's a lot wider. This makes it so real. This really isn't a place to enjoy, but it is a place that needs to be visited.

Very interesting topic, but it could do with a guide of some kind instead of artifacts with explanations attached- some kind of narrative would be great. Still very good, affordable, and with good hours.

Very detailed descriptions and wide variety of torture objects, however the descriptions seem to have been written by a complete sadist.
