This Michelin-star restaurant was one of the best tapas places that we visited during our stay in Alicante. The place can be extremely busy and has a good buzz. The chefs prepare the food with care and artistic flair. They interact without words and seamlessly prepare different dishes with excellent coordination. It's marvellous to watch them enjoy and be in the moment with the food they prepare and the customers.

It is also very budget-friendly.
A must-visit if you are in Alicante.

One of the best tapas places I have been in a long time. We arrived at 8pm, and there were already many people waiting to enter. As soon as the restaurant was open, we went in to grab a table. A very traditional tapas bar, and the food was excellent. Very efficient and fast service. We simply loved their food and ambiance. We would definitely want to come back again. Make sure you arrive early. We saw many people waiting outside as were coming out from the restaurant.

Food to die for, very friendly staff and such a cool atmosphere. Loved the grilled squid (calamar plancha) and the montadito foie gras just melts in your mouth. I challenge you to leave without a smile on your face!

Good place, huge choice and quality. We had gambas al ajillo, foie a la plancha. Normally you have to queue outside before you get a table

The best tapas I had during my trip to South East Spain. The beef steak dish I got was insanely good to my surprise. I sat on the stools in front of the kitchen. The chefs are so fast and friendly. The grilled squid was also to die for.

What a fantastic experience at Bar El Canto! Now I understand why there's always a lineup and why they've earned Michelin stars in the past. Everything about this place was exceptional. The food was delightful, the service was top-notch, and the ambiance was charming. I highly recommend trying their dishes, as each one was a true delight. Definitely deserving of their accolades!

Great food and even better service, avoid the pier and head straight here. The queue and the ambiance made the food all the more sweeter. We ordered about 8 different dishes and a dessert and were comfortably full. The wine is delish. This will be on our pits top list whilst we’re here! 🥰

The first place we went in after arriving at Alicante ant oh boy, this was one heck of a first expression of the city.
The food was awesome, the service was even better, and the atmosphere was fantastic.

Very high quality food, including local specialities such as mojama (dried red tuna) and Alicantian wine and a lively atmosphere. It gets very busy quickly after opening, so get there early. You may have to wait for a table, but you can have a drink while you're waiting. Recommend the poached pear in wine- delicious!

Really excellent tapas bar. We had to queue for about 20 mins (with a drink in hand) but well worth the wait. Great service, lovely food, and friendly locals who helped us make good choices! Fried squid, prawns in garlic, monkfish all amazing.

I dare to say this is the best restaurant in Alicante. I use google map often to find good restaurants, I went to around 15 very high google map score and reviews restaurant in Alicante. And this is the best. Generally most of restaurants in Alicante are very satisfiable, but this one is different. They have 140 different menus and whatever I ordered I was just so touched by each menu. Many locals come, they have a English menu both in paper and digital. Though digital version of menu is little bit hard to read. But it is guaranteed that whatever you order it will surprise you. The atmosphere itself is very authentic too, you feel very comfortable with the shape of their table and chair. The table has two stories which is perfect setting for tapas menu, you can share the menu easily, the service is also great, friendly staff, timely food and great explanations too. The sandwiches were surprisingly good, though Canape is cut sandwiches, not whole different menu. Lomo, jamon, entrecote, combination with mayonaise and pepper, you are in heaven. From the wall, they attached many news articles, I think this place was reported many times. I visited 4 times, there were always many people but if you arrive 8pm you don't need to queue. (I think from 9-10pm there are little waitings). Sitting in front of bar can be very authentic too. I strongly strongly recommend! I will visit Alicante for this restaurant.

It’s loud, chaotic and too small to accommodate all guests. Just the way you like your Spanish tapas experience. Tasty!

We had a table of 10 English folks. We had to wait roughly 45 mins, but we were all happy to do so, the staff were helpful and let some of us sit at the bar for a drink whilst two tables became free.
The staff were all very knowledgeable of the menu and food.
When the food came it was incredibly tasty loads of flavour, good portions, and most importantly the timing. They placed two plates for our table, which we’d pass around and share, once we’d mostly eaten the next two came, and it carried on like this for a while.
This for me was the best way to eat at a restaurant, it felt very welcoming and friendly in here. Classic, traditional Español food and environment.
I would more than recommend!
