Small but very nice place. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff was very friendly and the tapas were delicious. The guys were coming with full tray of freshly cooked tapas in every 5 to 10 minutes and we could choose whatever we like. Even when we asked only for chips for our daughter, they didn't say no, just made a full tray with small plates with chips in different sauces, thank you! We really enjoyed our cold beer and tapas there, even with small children. Highly recommend! 😊

Loved this place - we came twice during our short trip in Alicante. Super affordable and tapas are amazing. Recommend that you should go in weekends to enjoy the chaotic but fun atmosphere. Btw, the restaurant is closed on Monday!

What an amazing way to experience tapas in the city. I absolutely loved the way this establishment operates. When you can find a seat (this place is busy), the staff will show you to your seats and ask about drinks. This is where things get very different, and I loved the way food is selected. There is no menu. Waiters simply continually move about the restaurant with trays of food for anyone. If you like what they are carrying on their tray, simply take it hahaha. Each tapas is either on a piece of wood, or in a small bowl. Take one at a time or take several - it is up to you. How do they know what to charge you? Simple - they just count the pieces of wood and small bowls at your table - and the glasses from your drinks. This restaurant is absolutely a local and tourist favorite. You have to visit this place and try different tapas until you can barely stand up hahaha. The selection is so diverse - don't like anything on a tray? No worries, the next one will be completely different. Thanks so much for the tapas experience in Alicante.

Such an experience - one of a kind! No menu, no typical service. The kitchen makes tapas dishes and servers carry them around the restaurant for you to choose from. I do not recommend coming here if you get easily overwhelmed or have any allergens as there is no menu or anything unless you speak fluent Spanish and want to ask about the allergens in each dish. Everything that comes out of the kitchen is delicious, especially the seafood such as the squid and mussels and fried whitebait. Buzzy and lively atmosphere! so fun

Pretty nice idea of serving tapas. We could try many different ones. They were freshly done and tasty. Tapas are quite cheap, as well as drinks. Staff do not know english really well, but it was not a big problem. At the bill, they put a different price for tapa, instead 1.70 it was 3.50 - I hope that was an honest mistake, not conscious action. When I asked about the mistake on the bill, it was not a problem to fix that.

What a place!

Loved our visit and sampled a number of tapas including calamari, mussels, ham&cheese croquettes and more

With four beers the bill was only £23. I will be back tomorrow 🤣

We were so satisfied and happy with the whole experience eating at Tapa-Cana. We first visited for dinner, and we were so amazed that we could not resist but revisit the other day for brunch before we leave the city! Hahahaha, I think we scared off the stuffs for ordering the relatively heavy dishes at 11am 😂

They serve dinner in a format that they carry two to three types of tapas in a big serving plate, people can simply take whatever they would like to have from the plate. For lunch, as there are fewer customers, they serve by make to order. Make sure you are patient enough if you visit during dinner hours, as there is usually a queue outside!!!

Amazing place with a terrific concept (new to me!) where the staff bring you platters for you to choose whichever tapas you fancy. One server in particular remembered I asked for no meat and would come see me with the vegetarian options. The tinto de verrano was also lovely though pre-made... Overall we ate really well though perhaps too much? 😅Good prices, lovely options and great and friendly staff. I'll go back but eat more moderately.

A hidden gem! Amazing place to get tapas and beer! The concept it’s sit down order your drinks and the waiter comes with a variety of tapas you get the ones you like every time it’s different! And the end they charge you by how many tablas you ate it’s really good great service good customer service

Must visit place. Took me a minute to figure out you take the food you want off the tray as the staff walk around and they charge you €1.50 (?) per item. Be patient, the selection is random and all sorts come out over time. Gets busy and the staff were great.

Beautiful place, very fast and friendly staff and the food is great! Basically in 20minutes you enter, sit down, eat, get drunk, pay and get out. What more could you ask?!

Great experience! There is a bit of waiting line to get in, but then it's quite interesting. The waitresses pass with different tapas. I liked them and the concept. Friendly staff

I’ve got a seat without any waiting in the middle of the day. Felt like in a show or something - attention to each client, guys smoothly sailing around the bar with full hands of tapas. And the gong from kitchen every few minutes announcing new batch was crazy and yet effective.
Ended up with 7 tapas, 2 bottles of 0.0 beer on top and a feeling that it was a peak of my visit to Alicante.

The place is small, and there was a long waiting line, and it was a bit crowded inside, but it's a very delicious tapas restaurant with a wide variety to choose from. The staff are also friendly.

Tablas is a unique restaurant in downtown Alicante. In this place, you don't need to order food since they constantly bring out freshly prepared tapas that you get to choose from. Don't feel pressured to get the tapas, just get what you want. Of course, for the drinks, you can choose whatever you'd like!

it is a very fun and colorful institution, which should be visited at least once. everything is so fast, loud, and fun there that I forgot that 2-3 terraces are more than necessary for me! and I ordered 6!)))
everything is delicious, service is fast. the food is fresh and originally served.
thank you for the emotions

Excellent tapas bar that I visit every time I go to Alicante city. Waiters walk around the tables offering different tapas on a piece os wood...you pick out only the ones you like and then, they count how many wooden small boards you have and pay for them (1,50€ each) great price, location and staff. I highly recommend this place

A really nice place, with a great formula to eat tapas in Alicante. The price is good, you can choose tapas on the base of what the waiter is serving, so you can choose between different options looking at them. In addition, you can drink good beer with your tapas.
So suggested!

Be prepared to have a wait to get in but it is totally worth it.
The staff walk around with various food on wooden blocks or small bowls and its all amazing.
Each costs €1.50 each, large beer €3, small beer €0.80.
We had 4 bowls 4 blocks 1 Lg & 1 sml beer. Total €15.80. (App £14)
Make this a MUST VISIT if you are in Alicante.

This place has a great reputation among tourist and for a good reason! It’s super cheap, the staff is very nice and fun and the food delicious. I tried so many small dishes. Even the simple chicken wings tasted amazing. The seafood tapas they offer are excellent so those were my favourite. I had two glasses of Sangria which was also amazing. 1,50€ per tapas is a great deal! Highly recommend
