Peak Me | A language school with a twist

Wonderful varied and imaginative course tailored to participants needs by a friendly, caring and fun group of people. The course is well designed and engaging. The lessons are varied, challenging but fun. The excursions are a fabulous experience in an amazing area. This is a ‘full on’ course, expect to finish feeling mentally and physically tired - in the nicest possible way. No hesitation in recommending a course with Peak Me if you want to improve your Spanish language and see this beautiful area of Spain.

This was a wonderful week with interesting and varied Spanish sessions, both inside and outside the classroom, and delivered by very experienced and encouraging teachers. The decision to have small groups is really beneficial and creates an enjoyable and supportive atmosphere. The setting of the school is absolutely beautiful and the walks around the village, meeting people who live there, mean you begin to get a feel for the community you're staying in which is a real privilege. The hiking with local guides, and even a biologist with binoculars to highlight the flowers and wild life, was very enjoyable. Everyone involved was passionate about their love of this part of Spain and the quality of life it offers.
The PeakMe staff are incredibly helpful, thoughtful and generous in the way the week is organized and the accomodation they've chosen is lovely too.
I think this is quite a unique experience and I'd wholeheartedly recommend it for the balance of learning, fun, great company, good food and well being! Thanks very much!

If you want to learn Spanish well, this is the place! Beautiful location in northern Spain, good teachers and a fun, varied curriculum. My Spanish has grown enormously in one week! The walks in the afternoon were educational, varied and enjoyable. Everything was well arranged, highly recommended!

My one week talk&walk with Peakme went beyond my expectation. The curriculum was well designed, and I learned quite a few things that were very useful for my continuing trip in Spain. The staff worked their best to make sure all students enjoy the activities. I especially loved walking in the nature, which took place in the beautiful mountains in Picos de Europa. After the program finished, they also helped me arrange the transportation for another hiking that I enjoyed very much. The whole experience with Peakme was amazing.

What a wonderful week at Peak Me 'Walk & Talk' in Asturias! Everything was well organised from the airport pick up, to lessons and walks. The Spanish lessons were lively and varied and included visits to local shops.
The afternoon walks were amazing - beautiful scenery, both in the mountains and on the coast. I learned a lot about the local way of life and the floral and fauna of the area. The team was very friendly and helpful. Thank you Celina, Ana, Lucila, Julian and Nano. I hope to return. I thoroughly recommend this experience.

What a wonderful week spent improving my Spanish at Peak Me language school in beautiful Asturias, Spain. In the morning, you exercise your brain: The teachers at this tiny school are so lively, kind and encouraging, leading Spanish lessons that mix listening, speaking, and grammar exercises with excursions to places of cultural interest in the tiny towns of Abandames and Panes. In the afternoon, you exercise your body and spirit: on vigorous hikes into the magnificent "peaks" of the Picos de Europa national park, learning about the history, ecology, and current culture of the area from a passionate and charming local guide whose knowledge deepened my appreciation of the place. If you seek a tranquil and stunning setting in which to improve your Spanish - every morning I woke to the sweet sound of cowbells and birdsong - in a place with few tourists (on 3 of 5 of the outings we encountered not a single other hiker) Peak Me is the place. My only regret is I didn't book a longer stay.

I just returned from a week of studying spanish at Peak-Me and it was a wonderful experience. Ana, Julian, Celina and everyone was so welcoming and helpful, in any way they could be. Panes is a special place. I hope I can return there in the future. It was a marvelous trip.

A wonderful experience in a beautiful place. First rate professional Spanish language classes daily, with interesting and fun hikes to breathtaking mountain vistas, the beach, an idyllic organic farm, and spots on the antique Camino de Santiago. Or you can do yoga, or mix it up. All of the students in my group agreed it was the best school with the nicest people. The whole community seems involved in making Peak.me students welcome.

I had a brilliant week at PeakMe. The classes were excellent and very well-judged to my ability. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The walks on the coast and in the Picos were glorious - despite some rain! My Spanish improved and I feel more confident now. I hope to go back.

This school is great if you're looking to combine nature and Spanish.

I had a fantastic time at Peak Me. It was the perfect combination of learning and leisuire. I'll for sure go back if ever I am in the N or Spain.

Cons:
Biggest problem I /we (classmates) had was not with the school itself but the logistics of coordinating food and meals.

The accomadation affiliated with the school is in Panes which is a VERY small village. The local shop for groceries is pretty limited in variety and most of us were not impressed with its offerings. It had basic things but given we had to cook for the week in our flats - we felt it a bit restricted.

Additionally, its operating hours are a bit unique making it somewhat difficult for when and how you can actually get food.

The accomadation for the school is a walk from the village. Not bad ( about 10 - 15 minutes). It would not be a problem without any bags, but, may prove difficult if you're carrying groceries.

Also, it's Spain so the mealtime servings are way later than most European countries. The village is quiant and lovely but limited on where and when you can eat or drink.

I recently became vegetarian before the trip which proved even more tricky as most meals were/are heavy on the meat.

My advice: pre-plan and stock up on groceries if you can or figure out how to get to nearby Unquera ( about 20 minutes by car - if you have a car) to replenish your supplies.

Wow. What a wonderful program. Super productive and fun Spanish lessons in the morning and exploring the natural wonders of the Picos de Europa in the afternoons... The team were sooo professional and accomodating and generous with their time and knowledge of the region. Can't say enough about how delighted we were with our week at Peak Me... Full marks!

A magical week, full of pleasant surprises. Excellent Spanish teaching in very small groups, stunning setting, wonderful outings to the mountains and coast, introductions to local culture, history and food…We felt like part of a generous, lively and caring family.

I had a very positive experience studying Spanish with Peak Me. Staying with a local family, daily class work, and afternoon activities gave me a myriad of opportunities to grow in my language skills. I highly recommend this program!

A well organised course with excellent teaching. Exciting hikes in the Picos with marvellous views and spectacular scenery. Fantastic guides and good company.I enjoyed finding out about the local traditions of cider and cheese making. Una semana preciosa!

Peak Me is a passionate team of competent teachers who made learning Spanish so much fun for us. The teaching techniques are well suited for adult learning. It's quite intimidating to get back to a classroom again but the interaction with our small group turned out as lovely connections. Speaking to locals and playing games with peers werw 100% effective ways of learning.

The walks was on a different level of marvel. The views are breathe taking. Even it was a week of rain and mostly overcast I am happy I joined the walks. Phenomenal! Awesome! We run out of adjectives.

I had a fantastic week at the Peak Me Spanish school and already am thinking about when I can return, it was so much fun while being educational.

The school has an incredible amount of organisation which was evident even before I arrived. To tailor individual classes at my level, I was asked to complete a detailed assignment that covered my knowledge of grammar, reading, writing and aural comprehension.

Then when I arrived, material was already prepared that worked on my weaknesses during the classes. Ana and Celina are great teachers and are very kind when I was not clear in what I was trying to say. I am confident that my Spanish communication has improved because of the classes.

Then in the afternoons, the other two students and I went on 3+ hour walks through the nearby hills or along the coast, accompanied by Spanish speaking guides Julián and Rosa. They continually talked about what we were seeing or hearing, relating interesting anecdotes from the history of the region, and so much more.

To learn a language, the most important step is to hear the language. Little by little, the comprehension and ability to distinguish from the firehose of Spanish syllables flowing over me as to what are the words. So uplifting!

So whatever level of Spanish that one has, spending time in Peak Me will be very helpful. I loved it and recommend the school to all people who aspire to be able to communicate effectively in Spanish.

An exciting and most enjoyable week with lovely teachers and students too. We felt very well looked after and developed our language skill throughout the week. A great balance between indoor and outdoor experiences.

Would highly recommend Peak Me for learning/developing your Spanish. Alex, Celina and Ana are the best teachers! I was a complete beginner and very nervous but I learned SO much and feel much more confident to travel and speak Spanish. I had 1-to-1 lessons and they go above and beyond to help you. They are SO friendly and accommodating. I will 1000% be back and can't wait to continue my Spanish learning journey and do online classes also.
Alongside all that, we got to do the most unbelievable hiked with Rosa! Coastal, mountains and everything in between!! She is SO full of information about the local area and nature and I adored listening to her!
The whole Peak Me staff are what I consider friends now after only 1 week. We had drinks, they brought us to amazing restaurants and showed the best of the local area.
A peaceful, learning filled, wholesome week and I was so sad to leave.
