What a beautiful place! We had a perfect 4 night stay here in October. Yvonne and Carston were lovely hosts. The whole place is immaculate and very tastefully decorated. The breakfasts, scenery, pool etc cannot be faulted. We enjoyed a communal dinner on the Saturday night and it was a great experience. I have had many hotel stays and this is up there with the best. I have recommended it and would stay again in a heartbeat!

What an amazing gem just off the beaten track. The perfect hotel with breathtaking views. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday this is the ideal place. The rooms are spotless and clean. Yvonne & Carsten are the perfect hosts. Their Andalusian tasting night was the best we have ever had. We will definitely be returning. Well worth the visit.

Great location. The view at the hotel is very beautiful and short walks from the hotel you can walk and enjoy different views of the near by mountains. Enjoyed my stay very much and the hosts, Yvonne & Carsten were amazing.

We have been coming to this tranquil retreat for over 5 years and Yyvonne and Carsten have made so many improvements and nothing is too much trouble, very special people.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this well run establishment to anyone who is looking for that place where you are made to feel at home.

We had an absolutely wonderful and relaxing stay with Yvonne and Carsten. Their hotel is in a beautiful setting in the foothills of Tabernas Desert near Mojácar, and they were the kindest hosts. A highlight was having dinner outside on the terrace with the other guests on our second night, starting with an Andalusian aperitif as the sun was setting. Yvonne and Carsten know everything about the area - we went to a wonderful snorkelling beach and we'll be back for desert hiking in cooler weather! We also loved relaxing by the pool, the lovely breakfasts with fresh fruit, and the honesty bar. A perfect short break - thank you Yvonne and Carsten!

A charming and peaceful small hotel with a delightful swimming pool set in well tended gardens and overlooking open countryside and mountains. Tastefully appointed bedroom with very comfortable bed, effective a/c and deep walk in shower. All areas kept beautifully clean by friendly housekeeper. Lovely breakfasts with fresh, tasty ingredients. We will definitely return.

Yvonne and Carsten have created a true piece of paradise here. The Cortijo is in a stunning elevated position at the foothills of the Sierra and minutes from the coast. As soon as you arrive you begin to relax. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained as is the whole property, to a very high standard.
We had a garden room with our own private terrace which was very comfortable, spacious and clean.
The breakfasts are delicious and of a high quality, with delicious fruits, chia pudding, eggs, cheeses and meats, bread, pastries, amazing hand pressed orange juice and coffee.
There is a very well stocked honesty bar and the possibility to have a sharing/grazing board by the pool when ordered in advance. Yvonne has an encyclopaedic knowledge of the area and is very generous with her time and in recommendations and directions. The whole vibe there is of relaxation, friendly connections, laughter and unpretentious luxury. Good for the soul.
Communication too from the moment of booking, to perfect directions to post checkout is spot on.

A wonderful place with breath taking views, delicious breakfast and very confortable rooms.

This is an outstanding place to stay. Beautiful in every way.. Relaxing pool area with views over the Andalusian hills. Tastefully decorated rooms, that are spotless.

Yvonne and Carstan are very friendly and helpful , nothing was too much trouble for them . Great choice for breakfast, in gorgeous surroundings.

Close to Mojacar old town with its lovely cobbled streets and great restaurants or Mojacar Playas with the beach bars and expanse of coastline.

Would definitely look to visit again as this small boutique hotel provides a relaxing base to recharge and explore the area.

Luxury it sure was! What a lovely stay we had with Yvonne and Carsten. The rooms are very big and clean, with a private terrace where I could enjoy the beautiful views. Breakfast was delicious and home made. We could not have asked for more. Keep up the good work!

Our stay here was amazing. Hospitality has a new meaning for us now. Nice views, fine pool, delicious breakfast and a good selection of wines and liquor (not free). Many tips from the hosts about day activities and diner suggestions. Hosts are very nice and fun to be with.
Beach chairs and parasols for your trips are complementary. No idea what the sauna looks like because weather was too good to sit inside. 5 out of 5 "in den ...."s

El Sarmiento is an original Cortijo that has been renovated very nicely. Spacious and spotless rooms, a nice pool and safe and (sun sheltered) parking are there. It is situated within a 5/10 minutes drive outside of Mojacar (reachable via an full asphalt road). The location has tranquillity and amazing views. You'll hear birds, sometimes a goat or occasionally a dog somewhere in the countryside.

The breakfast and hospitality are outstanding. There is also a possibility to have dinner on some nights, which is recommendable. Tell them if you have any intolerances, allergies etc. No worries, they make it happen to present surprisingly delicious food 😀

The owners speak various languages (fluent in English, German, Dutch/Flemish and Spanish... Maybe even more?) and can provide you with enough info to fully enjoy the area and many options for excellent food.

They have chosen for the "adults only" concept, which doesn't mean they don't like kids but guarantees for a relaxed and tranquil atmosphere.

Jammer dat er maar 5 sterren gegeven kunnen worden, want deze vakantie steekt overal bovenuit. Begint al bij ontbijt op terras, met prachtig uitzicht; Carsten die een heerlijk ontbijt verzorgt, met versgeperste sinaasappelsap, en de vraag: wat is jouw belangrijkste keuze van de dag: gekookt eitje, gebakken, roerei, met of zonder spek?
Er zijn 5 kamers, voor alle mensen werd een 7-gangen diner verzorgd ( als je wilde, en iedereen wilde). Heel gezellige avond gehad.
Bidons voor water, strandtas, badlakens, alles is er en hoef je dus niet zelf mee te nemen.
Yvonne is behalve gastvrouw ook graag ' reisleider', geeft tips en routes voor uitstapjes, restaurants in de buurt, en ze doet dat met overgave.
Dit alles in een prachtige omgeving, waar je helemaal tot rust kan komen.
Een absolute aanrader!

Geweldige locatie, mooie kamers met zeer verzorgde service van Yvonne & Carsten in het zonnige Mojacar. Wij komen hier intussen ook minimaal 1x per jaar vanaf de B&B (Boutique Hotel intussen) zijn deuren opende in 2014 en voelen ons hier dan ook thuis in de oase van rust. Op aangeven van Yvonne & Carsten gaan we ook regelmatig op verkenning in de lokale horeca.
Mijn persoonlijke ervaring als fietser : geweldige streek om mooie fietstochten te maken in de bergachtige omgeving.
Voor ons telkens iets om naar uit te kijken !

Cet hébergement intime et confortable donne une vue magnifique sur les montagnes. L'accueil est très chaleureux. Excellents petits déjeuners avec jus d'orange frais, œufs préparés à la demande et excellents produits. Des conseils avisés sur les activités, les restaurants, et la région tellement belle. Des soirées de dégustation conviviales. Nous ne pouvons que recommander ce lieu.
