Capela de San Xoán de Loio

Pretty little chapel, closed so I couldn't see the interior. The walk there and back by the river was magnificent.

En un paraje natural difícil de describir. Hay que verlo. Para verla es bueno Ruta de senderismo : Rutas de Paradela.

Unfortunately the Xunta is letting the altar piece fall into ruin even though the chapel and its contents have considerable historical value. Actually it's shameful that the Xunta and the Catholic Church have no regard for its heritage if it's not going to make them money. Responsibility for the chapel's basic upkeep has fallen on the shoulders of the inhabitants of Loio and the surrounding area.

Paraje natural de incalculable valor.

Se encuentra entre Sarria y Portomarín.

Intentaba ir al Monasterio de Sta Maria de Loio, y el Google maps me condujo hasta aquí. No hubo forma de llegar más allá. La Capilla estaba cerrada me tuve que conformar con la belleza del paisaje.
