La Almunya del Sur Botanical Garden

Small but interesting and pretty garden. We hadn’t booked so just arrived on Saturday morning. We received a warm welcome, followed the signed route around the garden and were served tea at the end of our visit. Lovely way to spend an hour or so.

A beautiful sanctuary! These lovingly tended gardens are the perfect place to retreat and take solace from nature. The gardens have their own micro climate, and the trees give cover from the sun, making it a great place to visit even on hot days. Packed full of interesting plants and trees, and the whole experience is finished off with a delicious homemade lemonade with mint.
Call before you go to make sure someone is there to let you in.
Entry fee is €5pp or €8pp for a guided walk (payable on entry)
Expect to be there for around 1-2 hours.
There is a toilet for customer use, but no other food or drink available, so bring anything else you’ll need!

Great place for 1,5 hour to enjoy nature, birds singing with tasty finish from the owner;) thank you, we will be back!

What a wonderful find. This is a beautiful garden, full of amazing plants and laid out so there is something surprising at every turn. The skill and passion of the gardener is clear to see. We are delighted to have visited today. We did contact be email in advance as requested and paid when we arrived.

Hidden gem. Not big but very nice and cozy romantic place. Full of small details and very well maintained. Feels that owners put enormous amount of work to maintain the place. I recommend booking in advance. And the treats at the end leave a pleasant aftertaste :)

You have to walk each way in both directions and everytime you turn around you will see something new and unexpected. Beautyful garden .

Had an unexpected visit here as part of a TUI organised outing to Nerja & Frigiliana. The owner was charming and very passionate about his beautiful botanical garden which has been carefully built up and nurtured over the years. It really was a tranquil little oasis amongst what seems like endless miles of greenhouses. After a tour of the garden we were served lemonade & almond biscuits. A delightful visit.

Amazing place! Very well kept, refreshing, quiet, relaxing, full of botanical beauty, in the middle of mar de plastico :) worth visiting. We spent there 2 very relaxing hours

Extremely pleasurable experience. Gentlemen who opened the gate after we have visited the garden served us hot drinks on the house. We would definitely return again.

Beautiful botanical garden with so many different plants and flowers from all over the world. The owner is very passionate and loves to give information and show the cool plants. For example: let us eat stevia and a plant that makes your tongue numb for a few minutes.
It's 5 Euro to entre but totally worth it. Don't forget to go to the panoramic place, it's perfect to relax a bit over there.

We visited the Almunya garden yesterday and what a REVELATION.
It is truly a jewel in the desert and a wonderful oasis in the sea of plastic.
Carlos and Manu have created a fantastic garden and although not big with plants covering every millimetre and inch of the ground there is more variety than in gardens ten times the size. Wow, wow wow !!!!!

A true and beautiful oasis in the middle of a dessert, set in the mar de plástico. A gem to this area, and a testament to the dedication of the people who continue to take great care of it. If you are a plant junkie at heart, you don't want to miss this.

Very nice, cozy and well looked after garden. Strongly recommend to attend it if you have chance.

Absolutely amazing garden and you can tell the passion the owners have for the beautiful space they have created. I would definitely recommend a visit.
