At this place elevator is located. It costs 2.7 euro to use it both sides up and down. It's quite useful because you can also go on foot but it's exhausting. The place is absolutely amazing! The best views you can find in Alicante. No lines in the Morning but when I was going back in about 12am there were a huge line to get upstairs.

This is a very interesting place, saturated with the history that goes back almost 2000 years. Besides the place will give you one of the kinds of views on the city and surrounding area. Absolutely breathtaking view. The only downside is that you might stay in line for the elevator on top and back if the place gets too crowded

Absolutely stunning views all round from the top of the castle, stacks to see round the castle also. wheelchair access may be limited as there are some very steep places to walk.lots of places to get food and drink and there are toilet facilities scattered around..you can walk up the steps or take the lift up..the photo I put on with the blue lights on the ceiling is the tunnel you walk through from main road to the lift..

Amazing mountain views. Fresh air and a great authentic atmosphere! Bring your jacket as it gets chilly in the mountains!

Lift to the Castle. Free for over 65s! No queue in December. Great Castle with audio-visual history of Alicante. Great views of surrounding mountains.

The best thing the city could have created 😄 an elevator takes you straight up to the fortress and down. During the day huge lines and it's quite hot up there. I would recommend to come around 6 pm - almost no line and enough time to explore everything.

A fantastic castle with a gorgeous view of Alicante. There is an elevator, however we made the choice to walk up and enjoy the scenery as we went. There isn't a ton of educational posts but this feels like a real working castle and not a museum.

It was a hot 27 degrees and I managed to walk up the hill to the Castle. A great achievement.

What an amazing place to visit. Wonderful views across Alicante. Has a couple of cafes, a souvenir shop and toilets. You can take the lift, walk or a bus to the top. A must visit whilst in Alicante.

We walked through Alicante and entered via a steep walkway at the rear of castle (main entrance is opposite beach via a lift and tunnel) that had some houses with pretty garden pot arrangements, walk was fairly difficult but views are good, good castle to walk & on our visit food and other stalls with some street entertainment,
toilets and a lovely viewing cafe.

Great experience , you can use the lift from seaside to get in but the best option for active peoples is to get there on your own .
Great place to visit. Nice views amd snack bar . Entrance is free.

Perfect way to get to the Santa Barbara castle if you cannot do the hike up to the castle for whatever reason. We didn't have to wait for more than 15 minutes to board the lift though I imagine long queues in the summer or whenever a cruise ship group would be arriving in Alicante. The lift itself is not too spacious but it's incredible that they built it - it takes you straight to the top. It's only 2.70 euros per person and they also take card payments. I believe you can use the lift for free on the way down.

To be honest I went up for the view and it didn’t disappoint me. If you’re in Alicante it a must visit. Pro tip, go there late afternoon to avoid the big queues for the lift.

Good place to visit if you are in town.
There is elevator access for 2.70€.
It covers trip up and down.
Elevator gets turned off at 7:30 so if you want to stay longer your will need to take one of multiple roads down by foot.
Bring some beverages as it can be bit of a claim to get to the top of the castle for best views.

Very big, beautiful castle on top of the hill in Alicante. Free entry. Not many exhibits inside, but the complex is really awesome and offers great views over the surrounding area

Fair price with 2.70 € way top and back. Not to much tourists at once (during weekdays 14-17 o clock) and a beautiful view over alicante. If you are in Alicante you should go to the castle for sure.

Very reasonably priced lift to the top of the Santa Barbara castle. We walked back down. There is a lift attendant so there is no over crowding.

I used the lift to access the castle.

Its on the main road and easy to find. We went at lunch time which was quieter as it was hotter. There was no waiting for the lift. We were planning to go in the morning but there were a load of school kids waiting to enter. We did see posts about the lift being accessible in the evening and being free but when we walked by last night the door was closed after closing time of 8pm so dont think it is accessible

I paid €2.70 and had my 4 year old in a pushchair so didn't need to pay separately for her which was awesome. It is all very accessible and the staff very helpful. The toilets were very clean too.

My 4 year old loved the section on evil toys.

It is so worth the visit especially as it is free

Very good to use this elevator if you do not want to spend hour of walk up there for instance if you have limmited time and so on. Ticket costed 2 euro and something, but we had luck because ticket machine was broken so it was free back there (september/october 2019).

However its quite of waiting for it down there if you miss it right in front of your face.
