L'Atelier

We had a fabulous lunch at L'Atelier. The food was delicious, the service terrific, and it felt like a mini-vacation visiting this quiet, quaint mountain town. We sat outside, as we had our dogs with us, and our dogs were welcomed with water bowls and snacks!! I didn't put any rating on the rooms as we only had lunch, but I would imagine that there is a great deal of loving attention given to the rooms.

A hidden gem of a restaurant!
Take the stairs next to the pizza place and turn right. We went several times during our stay. I particularly recommend the cold aubergine or the briuat de queso de cabra as a starter, the risotto or gratinado andaluz as a main, and the briuat de miel or the tiramisú as desert. Absolutely delicious and the people running it are a true delight (they speak Spanish, French, German, probably more)! They also offer rooms.

Awesomely good restaurant! I love my meat, but this wasn’t just the best vegetarian restaurant I’ve ever been to - it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had and one of the most charismatic restaurants I’ve ever been to, full stop!
The Italian cheeses, mushroom and truffle risotto was the best risotto I’ve ever had! Lovely, lovely food.
The host (owner?) was a lovely French gent, and the chef (owner?) was fabulous.
The interior of the restaurant is full of character and charm. Lovely music that helped create an “oh so cozy” atmosphere.
Priced really well too. We’d be lucky to get two main courses in some horrid gastro pub in the UK for the price we paid for three courses and drinks and coffee at L’Atelier.
My wife and I just LOVED this restaurant, and if we are ever lucky enough to be in Mecina de Fondales again, we’’d definitely eat there again. FANTASTIC!

Even though I have been a vegetarian for around 15 years, it was Brigitte who showed me how good the vegetarian cuisine can be. She conveys all her passion through carefully thought dishes, always framed in elegant and beautiful plates because food at L’Atelier is not only a gastronomic experience! Michel and Brigitte take the experience to another level. The ambience with a Morocon touch, the soundtrack, the attention the owners give to the customers... I wouldn’t say that whenever in Granada this place deserves a visit, I would say that Granada is also worth because of this pearl! Michel was right about something else: everyone enters as a customer as leaves as a friend.

Great to see a vegetarian restaurant in the hills. It's a well established place, well over 20 years. Time has proven all its needed for this little gem of a restaurant. We selected several dished to share and all were delicious. The chef and her husband waiter were very friendly and welcoming. Thanks to them again and for everyone else - Enjoy!

Excellent vegetarian food, the owners Michel and Brigitte are great and friendly people and they welcome you like you were at home. Brigitte cooks like a goddess! If you are lucky like we were you might even share a moment with them and learn super interesting things from Brigitte, who knows tons about food. A place to visit for sure, at the heart of the beautiful Alpujarras.❤

Third time here and will be back again! Vegetarian and vegan paradise in a less touristy part of the mountains. Beautiful food, prepared delicately with a strong Asian and curry influence. Bad choices don't exist here.

We spent a night in a lovely cozy room. Michel made a good breakfast and helped us to plan our hike. After we came back we tried some vegetarian food, which was tasty. All in all a great place to stay.

Love coming here from time to time

Muy buena la comida, muy buen trato, casi como si vas a casa de amigos y cocinan para ti. Sitio singular, muy pocas mesas, una experiencia y un lujo un sitio así en un lugar perdido y maravilloso como Mecina. Para repetir, sin duda

L’Atelier es un verdadero refugio en el que poder sentirte en armonía. Tanto el trato recibido, como el servicio, el ambiente, la música que suena y, por supuesto, la comida hacen del lugar una experiencia para los sentidos.

Llevo viniendo a Mecina desde que tengo 10 años (ahora tengo 28) con mi familia y nunca entramos. Ha sido este año, cuando en enero vinimos a pasar unos días, que por fin lo hemos probado y no nos ha dejado indiferentes. Hoy, 14 de noviembre, he estado con mi pareja y hemos cenado fabulosamente lo que a continuación podréis ver en las fotos.
Seguro que volveremos, de eso no hay ninguna duda.

Estamos muy contetos de encontrar un restaurante vegetariano en La Alpujarra. El lugar es muy tramquilo, acogedor y precioso. Los propietarios encantadores. Tienen opciones sin gluten y sin lácteos. En mi caso que tengo una dieta muy estricta por tener un cáncer, Brigitte la cocinera, que sabe mucho de alimentación, te aconseja y adapta los platos. Si quieres pan sin gluten, avísalos con tiempo, lo hacen ellos mismos y es buenísimo.

Alojamiento con desayuno y restaurante vegetarianos genial!! Una gente excepcionalmente amable, un sitio muy tranquilo y acogedor, para vivir la experiencia slow, y la comida buenísima, incluido pan casero para el desayuno. Muy recomendable acercarse aunque sea un pueblecito más pequeño y escondido que otros de la Alpujarra

Es un sitio especial, no espereis un restaurante normal porque no lo es. El lugar, la atención y calidez de los dueños, y la exquisita comida hacen que sea una gran experiencia, también para los no vegetarianos.
