An amazing historical site worth the 6€ entry! It’s small and quaint and doesn’t have a lot of people visiting all the time. It’s very well preserved and a deff stop and see if you’re in the area!

Beautiful scenery and not many people around on weekdays in April. Basically no wait time, affordable tickets and free audio guide which can be scanned with QR code! Lovely place!

Very nice views over Antequera and a good audioguide to talk you through the walk. We also paid a visit to Real Colegiata de Santa María below the Alcazaba.

Wonderful experience to visit medieval Arabian castle XI century Alcazaba with ancient ruins of the roman baths with mosaic floor, which are located down of the castle walls. Must see

Beautiful castle in a fascinating town that is Antiquera. The castle is very clearly mapped out and labeled. As seniors this cost only €3 each including the adjacent historic church.

We discovered the delightful town of Antiquera purely by chance while driving through Andalucia. An unspoilt place full of history and beautiful buildings. Looking down over the town is this medieval Fort which is well worth the visit. As my wife is wheelchair bound we avoided all the steps by choosing the long route following the road. Entrance was free as it was a Sunday. The views from the square in the fort, of the town, countryside and the far off mountains were also worth the trek up there. Later a cafe in the square provided just the nourishment we needed before setting off back down.
There is plenty of parking down below along various streets.
A place I would highly recommend.

A must visit if you are in the area. Allow 2hrs for exploring the Fort and Church. Good value for money with great views from the towers! Free parking can be found all around the Fort on the streets or in the big car park.

Impressive fort/castle, high towers and walls, beautiful sights on the mountains. Info points through a qr code on your phone (free), entrance fee 4-6 Euro
Next to alcazaba there is a huge church built on old fundaments. You can walk around the church and castle and enjoy beautiful sights

It is worth visiting the Alcazaba especially for the amazing views of the city. In the Alcazaba you can go up two towers and stroll on the walls. Entrance 4€. I recommend.

Compared to granada's Alcazaba this is almost as big, significantly cleaner and more accessible, and (at least during our visit) wayyyy less people. Worth the visit if you want to avoid crowds and get nice photos

Seriously under-rated in all comments I found. Very atmospheric place dating in parts to roman times but including mainly moorish and christian heritage. Incredible views of Antequera from top.
I really love this place, entrance 5 euros and you can spend a couple of hours viewing battlements and towers. Closed mondays and opens at 10am other days. Go first thing am after opening for a special experience.

Very well cared for landmark with exceptional views and interesting history. Easy guided tour, available with audio guide via an app, very reasonable entry fee. A nice day out with family.

Although cannot be compared to its siblings in Granada and Seville, the Alcazaba fortress is must have at your visit to Antequera.
The entrance fee to the fortress only is 4 euros ( to visit the church is about 2 euros more), and it includes an audioguide. The monument is very well kept, and has a bonus of Andalusian music playing in the background as you stroll through.
The views are breathtaking, and the history of the fortress is well told by the audioguide.
If you travel by car, you can park at the parking lot in front of the entrance or find a spot on the adjacent street.

This is a MUST to visit for anyone interested in history and architecture. The Alcazaba is remarkable. I loved everything about it, wasn't expecting to see soo much. Take comfy shoes and be prepared to climb steps. You can buy a bottle of water for €1 when you pay your combo ticket for the Alcazaba and the FABULOUS church. The self guided tour is great and easy to follow. There is ambience music while in the gardens, which is a nice touch. There are modern, clean toilets and a small gift shop. There are ramps for access to all areas of ground floor.
