Wow, what an incredible experience! The personnel were absolutely delightful and friendly, the view was beyond compare, and the food was absolutely exquisite!

I have to mention though, the bread for starters wasn't quite up to par, but that won't (dampen my overall rating) 😊🤓

We loved the atmosphere and service. Food is excellent. Do not expect too much luxury. It is a nice, clean, cosy, friendly environment in a town called Istan. It is in the mountains and the view is great. Careful with the road to the town though. There are lots of twists and turns.

A really excellent restaurant in this pretty pueblo blanco in the mountains. We stopped for lunch and were really impressed with what was an interesting and "different" menu. Different in that they did their own take on some of the dishes we've had elsewhere. So, for example, my roasted lamb shank came with an asparagus and orzo risotto, flavoured with anise. My cheesecake was pistachio and very subtle. Excellent, friendly and informative service. In addition the service was quick, but not rushed and attentive and "interested"! They obviously pride themselves in satisfying their customers. We will be back. Views are spectacular too.

A little gem hidden in the mountains reached after driving up a winding narrow road from Marbella. Creative starters and desserts and classic mains. The meat is the star here for me. Excellent beef, pork and “chivo malagueño”. The views are stunning.

Wonderful food, people, and atmosphere. This was the second time we had a Sunday lunch at Raices. The drive, 20 minutes from Puento Romano, is easy and takes you quite literally to another world. Take a hike before the meal, check out the dam, get some fresh mountain air. Great family value(s). The acces is a bit unusual, but don't let it fool you. I will take any spoiled guest here and they will be impressed.

The place is very nice, the service is great and the views are even better. But what will take your breath away is the food. One foodgasm after another for each tapa you eat. And on top of all that, it's good value for money. Just amazing.

Staying locally we decided to book a table and pop in for lunch. This restaurant is curiously located within the Istan municipal sports facility (the large open air pool looks great!) and enjoys outstanding scenic views of the area. Friendly and attentive staff, the food provided was very well prepared and was simply delicious. This restaurant's fare is a cut above what is available from others in the area and, I would recommend it.

Just enjoyed a beer here, but it was excellent. We will be back later as the staff are courteous and very helpful. Plus the food looks amazing.

I was thoroughly impressed with the experience. The food was perfect in every way, lots of local ingredients. The menu was also original and offered a unique take on traditional dishes. The service was excellent! Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a delicious and unforgettable meal.

Absolutely delicious food and great service. Not cheap but extremely good value for money. While the views are stunning the setting itself is not the best as it is in the sport installations of the town of Istán.
Highly recommend the croquettes and the venison is the best I have ever had.
A little bit out of the way but well worthwhile the drive. Signage to get there is good. A true gem!

Best croquettes in Andalucia and wow that partridge! Local food with a twist, wonderful olive oil from the next village and bread from Ronda. Beautiful views, delicious food, kind and attentive service. Thank you for a very special birthday lunch.

What a gem! We fled the madding crowds of Marbella to Istán, up in the Sierra Blancas. Not that far to drive, though all up hill.
Los Raices was simply stunning. Great views! But menu and the dishes were simply outstanding. Each and every one we had was off the beaten track. Each one really interesting. The prices were very reasonable. We had 2 1/2 pints of cerveza. 2 starters, we shared a main course, two deserts and two double espressos and finished off with 2 ice cold Limoncellos. Aaaaah! The bill came to around 55 Euros. Staff were lovely.
Definitely worth the trip.

Had a scrumptious meal here with my sister and my partner. Excellent food, very friendly service (we had a real giggle with the waitress 😄) and beautiful vistas of Istán and the mountains too!

Very nice find, in a lovely small town. Expecxt nice food, friendly service and spectacular views in a cosy atmosphere. Defintely a yes and worth a visit when in the area!
