The trail to the top is not easy - it requires quite good condition and you have to be prepared for more difficult parts.
Of course, it's best to go during good weather. It is slippery (dangerous) after rain. In hot weather, the route is even more demanding. Strong wind is also disturbing. A sunny spring or autumn day will be the best also because of the views, which are great not only from the top.
The most popular trail starts from hotel El Refugio del Juanar. The place is quite popular, especially at weekends, as many trails starts there but you should be able to find a space to park a car. Go to the end of the road where you will find a gate and a slightly misleading information board, as there are only two trails marked there (no information about La Concha). After walking a few hundred meters, you will see the first small sign informing you about the trail to La Concha. Later, at the fork in the road, there will be another one (photos attached).
Many people complained about the trail markings. I was walking for the first time and there was a competition taking place that day and the organizers had placed markers every few dozen meters, so I had no problems. On other days, official signage must suffice, which may be (more or less) problematic.
It took me less than 4.5 hours to reach the summit and return, with a longer break at the top. The transition time between 4 and 6 hours that I read about earlier seems to be correct.

Absolutely magnificent views. I walked up via the Istan side, which I learned afterwards, is the steepest side of the mountain. They provide warnings that mountaineering skills are required for this hike. I was not entirely sure what that meant, but it’s true that it’s quite a challenging hike. If you do it in the summer, make sure to bring enough water and snacks. The views on the summit are rewarding. Very nice. Although not for the faint hearted, because it really is quite high and steep :)

What an adventure! It starts easy and fast but becomes very hard and slow. It will take 6 hours even if fit. Easy to take wrong turns so check your map regularly. Take the right mindset and make a lifelong memory!

Breathtaking views of Marbella and part of the coast. Many people don’t know than just a few minutes away from Marbella Old town you can immerse yourself into the most beautiful nature.
Stunning trekking paths. If you start from El Refugio it would take around 2 hours to get to the top of la Concha. Not suitable for beginners as you have to go through a few risky areas.
A few days ago we walked all the way up to the top to enjoy sunset 🌅. I don’t recommend you to do this on your own as we were really well equipped and were accompanied by experts.

Love hiking , but this was not the easiest ! We went from Il stan, and that took us 4 hours at least to get up climbing the cliffs etc. was not the safest road . Take the one from Ojen instead , which is shorter and nicer .

Amazing views to the sea, Marbella, surrounding mountains and Africa. It takes 6-7 hours there and back from Refugio de Juanar. On a hot and sunny day take a lot of water, because there are no springs. Beautiful scenery around.

Amazing walk! Drive up to the metal gate past juancar. Enjoy a stroll through the olive gardens and then up the mountain. My favorite part was towards the end of the walk on the mountain ridge.

We took the route from the El Refugio de Juanar. it was 3 hours up and 2 hours down. Not difficult if you are reasonably fit. Stunning scenery from the top.

What a great hike, not an easy one for sure! Need to bring at least a half gallon of water and some food for when you reach the top. There are two benches at the summit to relax and catch your breathe and snap a few great pictures! Took a good three hours to get up, unless you’re in better shape, then you could do it in less time.

Beautiful peak and amazing 3 hour walk to get to it from the parking. Parking above the Hotel Juanar, just continue to drive up the hill for ~300 metres.
Bring a lot of water and wear sunscreen.
Trail is not very well marked and there are moments when it's easy to go the wrong way.

Quite stunning views across Marbella from la Concha. I trekked in from Refugio Juanar on a Monday morning and barely saw another person all day. Some orienteering skills are required

What a great day this was, out with my girlfriend all day in this beautiful scenic mountain range, great walk, great weather, fantastic vibes word to my mother, absolutely exquisite environment. Would come again however I must say the way of transport to places like this one in Spain is just a pain in the butt as if you don't have your own car then it is very difficult to get there or it takes an extremely long time, but you can sacrifice for nature once in a while.

Lovely views, this is the peak and the Mirador spot with the best views is just a couple of 100m away...

The “small brother” of la Concha is really worth a visit. You don`t need your climbing shoes, easily accessible. You need only ~30min to be there from the parking lot (However the BIG la Concha you would better to prepare 2.5h)
