It is a natural park covering a huge area. Full of oaks, green all year round. Nice villages many with castles going back to the Moorish times.
Very good places for hiking. There are many mines in the area but not in use any more. A very nice one is Cerro del Hierro old mine for iron with beautiful scenery.
Sierra Morena is a natural parkthere is no wait time to enter and no entrance fees.

Walking the Camino via de la Plata from Seville in November - you walk through the Sierra Norte. The sceneary, natual beauty and never ending tranquillity through out the Sierra Norte will never be forgotten - not to mention the very friendly and helpful people of the area.

Be very careful. Do not enter in the summer unless really prepared and with a lot of water. Overheating and overexhaustion is very possible. Nature is beautiful. Trees are great.
