Mariola Secreta SL Casa Rural and Retreat Centre

Photos do not seem to fully capture the beauty and essence of this place. I spent the week here on a writing/meditation retreat. A friend of a friend recommended it to the retreat coordinators and I’m so happy they did! The food was amazing delicious, variety of vegetarian excellence and they catered to a couple who had allergies to dairy too. Every meal was exquisite. The host had to go to town to buy more wine as we had drank so much! The morning coffee and tea bar has every form of coffee, tea, liquor, wine and beer and soda you could want and done so tastefully.
The rooms and the whole place is just beautifully and tastefully decorated. The bed was comfortable and I love the down comforter. Shower pressure, soaps were perfect. The soaps are for sale too! I could not even think of one thing I would do differently.

I walked around the trails several times and just love the land and the view. I rode bike twice and it was perfectly challenging for me.

Bottom line - highly recommend👍🏻

Fantastic place to stay, very luxurious but still feels homely and welcoming. The area is beautiful, very quiet and peaceful where you can really appreciate the local nature and landscape. Also a great place if you are into outdoor sports such as cycling and walking etc. Whilst it is definitely a countryside location, you can easily acces the local town as well if you want to get an idea of the culture etc.

It was a wonderful few days on the Yoga retreat at the Mariola Secreta. We had two yoga sessions a day plus an extra fitness session during the afternoon, with excellent tuition from our instructor Leanne Yardley. I have not done much yoga in the past but will definitely be continuing classes after feeling so rested and relaxed with all my usual aches and pains easing over the time we were there.

Ben and Andrea were such great hosts, nothing was too much trouble. There were mountain bike rides, walks into nearby Bocairent and a trip to a traditional weaving factory on offer.

Our accommodation was lovely and every corner of the farmhouse is beautifully restored and decorated. Andrea is a fantastic cook and our meals were exceptional with an emphasis on health and seasonal produce. I would highly recommend a visit!

Superb accommodation in an incredible location from which to explore the beautiful Sierra de Mariola park.
An impressive farm house, nestled amongst the forest. Sympathetically restored, yet modern, with great attention to detail.
Ben was super helpful with everything including equipment familiarisation, ensuring we had everything we needed for a day on the trails and providing route options that gave us enough challenges while maintaining the enjoyment and flow.
This area really delivers, whether you looking for road, gravel or mountain biking (or all of the above) and I can’t think of a better base than Mariola Secreta at El Cipreret!
Ben and Andrea have created something unique and very, very special.

I had an absolutely fabulous few days at Mariola Secreta on a yoga retreat. We had 2 yoga sessions a day plus a fitness session. I’ve not done much yoga but thanks to brilliant instruction from Leanne Yardley I feel much more confident, my aches and pains left me and I felt totally relaxed.
Andrea and Ben were amazing hosts, warm, friendly, kind and generous. They have lovingly restored a derelict farmhouse and created a wonderful home to share with their guests. Nothing was too much and even though the weather wasn’t great it didn’t matter. There were bike rides, walks and a trip to a local traditional blanket factory on offer as well as our yoga and fitness.
Finally, the food, Andrea is a genius every meal was delicious, beautifully and effortlessly presented with an emphasis on health. Thank you Ben, Andrea and Leanne for a really relaxing few days with a lot of laughs. I will be back!

We have had an amazing stay with Andrea and Ben at Mariola Secreta in their beautiful renovated farmhouse - what an amazing place! They really have thought of all the little things that make a stay much more comfortable, with the lovely robes, gorgeous toiletries, hairdryer (with diffuser - perfect for us curly girls!), straw hats, pool towels, Alexa speaker…
The rooms are beautifully decorated in a rustic style with large en-suite shower rooms with a high pressure rainfall and handheld shower, large comfy beds with lovely textiles, and some rooms had fab window seats looking into the courtyard or over the mountains. There are multiple communal areas where you can sit and read or have a drink, and Andrea is happy for you to sit chatting in her enormous kitchen whilst she rustles up one of her superb meals, with lots of fresh produce from her own vegetable garden.
We chose to relax by the stunning salt water pool for most of our stay, but Ben is extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about cycling and walks in the area, and has a whole garage full of bikes (and e-bikes) for hire if you’re feeling more energetic than us! They can also arrange massages, yoga, trips out to local producers and craftsmen - to be honest, I bet they’d be able to arrange anything you wanted! The house is at the top of a mountain, so the views are stunning and there is total peace and quiet - other than birdsong or the buzz of the bees in the pretty gardens (and the occasional crow from Paul, the cockerel!)

Can’t wait to return…

We have just enjoyed an incredible break at this gorgeous retreat. Such peace and tranquility! Ben took us on some incredible guided mountain bike rides (from the doorstep!) deep in to the national park, with great variety of trails from cross country to downhill… Ben and Andrea have done an extraordinary job of renovating this house, whilst retaining all of the charm and character of the old building. As well as this, they are amazing hosts and Andrea is a superb cook, creating fresh creations seemingly effortlessly every day! Superb break to get away and recharge for a few days.

Where to start? Scents of pine trees, lavender and rosemary. Andrea's lovely food. My son said, "There's no universe in which I haven't gained weight here, the food is so good." I'm trying to find the words that describe how adventures can be so relaxing. One minute you're off on a hilly and rocky e-mountain bike ride led by Ben, who knows the area and will match the route to your riding skills, the next you're lounging by the beautiful swimming pool, and then you're off to jump into rock pools, or to the beach or a nearby lovely town for dinner. I loved my stay here, Andrea and Ben have done a fantastic job in creating this slice of paradise in Spain, and they're fantastic hosts.I will definitely be going back.

Loved my stay here. Ben and Andrea are wonderful hosts, the accommodation is amazing and the surrounding area is beautiful. Being able to have the national park right on the doorstep for walks and bike rides is a luxury. Andrea cooked delicious food and had no issues catering to me being vegetarian. Ben was a brilliant bike guide and took me round some really fun trails with great views. Would definitely recommend, there's something for everyone.

I had a fantastic week at Mariola! The location is lovely and quiet? The ensure rooms are well designed with everything you need. The food was amazing and we had a great time out on the bikes with Ben.

Thank you Andrea and Ben for making our yoga retreat so enjoyable in your beautifully restored and furnished farmhouse. You are exceptional hosts and you provide exceptional comfort. I would love to return for the yoga with Leanne who is an excellent teacher, the fab mountain biking on the doorstep with Ben and the culinary delights conjured up by Andrea. My particular dietary needs were well catered for and the home-baked sourdough every day was truly scrumptious!

The hotel is not open at the moment, but it will definitely be a wonderful place to relax and discover! A super nice, cosy furnished house that offers everything you need!
Lovely furnished rooms, a pool that invites you to relax as well as for a swim and a wonderful nature with cute villages where there is a lot to discover.
Andrea and Ben are absolutely lovely hosts, very attentive, helpful and caring. We really enjoyed Andrea's cooking and baking skills (the fresh homemade bread was one of the highlights!). We got to go mountain biking with Ben, which was definitely a lot of fun. Since he offers both "normal" and e-bikes for rent, there is something for everyone.
We really enjoyed our time with you and hope to see you again soon!

We had an amazing time at Mariola Secreta. The house is beautifully renovated and its location is perfect if you want to explore the surrounding national park. You can start your mountainbike ride right at the doorstep. The views are stunning, it's the perfect spot to enjoy nature. Ben and Andrea are the most genuine and welcoming hosts and we feel very fortunate that they have shared their piece of paradise with us. Andrea is an amazing cook, the food is fresh, healthy and flavorful. Ben is always happy to show you the best mountainbiking tracks in and around the park. We will definitely come back! PS. This farmhouse is exceptional in all sorts of ways. The location is excellent as the house is on a popular pathway crossing the Sierra de Mariola National Park. It's fair to say that the house can be considered a boutique hotel, as the design and the quality of materials used at the renovation is to an exceptionally high standard. Luxury at it's best.
Ben and Andrea are amazing hosts who take care of the guests needs. Ben provides you with bikes and Andrea cooks the most delicious meals one can imagine! Her sourdough bread is a dream! I could eat that every day.

Mariola Secreta is a beautifully renovated farmhouse in the stunning Sierra de Mariola National Park. Having followed the renovation from the start, we were excited to have the opportunity to stay for a few days and experience the exceptional accommodation, hospitality, and surrounding parkland. The renovation has been done to a very high standard, with an eye for traditional techniques as well as application of modern sustainable technologies.

Each of the guest rooms are individually styled, well appointed, and have wonderful views across the surrounding countryside. Activities include mountain biking, led by Ben who is highly experienced and knowledgeable of the area, relaxing by the pool, exploring the park, and enjoying Andrea’s excellent cooking.

We intent to return very soon !

Can not recommend this more highly. The location and the owners are incredible. There was a great collection of bikes both hard tail and electric bikes. The terrain was excellent for both novice and experienced riders with a bike park not far away. The food was exceptional and really used the best of the local Spanish ingredient. The house was also of the highest standard offering both access to the main house as well as having private en-suite room. I look forward to visiting again

Mariola Secreta was my favorite place I stayed in a 2 month trip around Europe! Andrea and Ben were beyond wonderful, Andrea’s cooking was delicious and Ben was really wonderful for helping me find trails around the national park to wonder.
The park is beautiful, as is the house, so cozy and welcoming. The pool is awesome too, with a great patio to enjoy.
I cannot recommend staying here enough!

We had a wonderful stay with Andrea and Ben at the beautiful, peaceful hotel. They looked after us so well and were fantastic entertainers, including taking us out on some amazing bike rides in the national park, cooking amazing meals and recommending a few fantastic walks. The room was so well designed, cosy and with a very good en suite bathroom. 100% recommend staying, enjoying some relaxing time in the most serene, luxurious environment!

We were invited to stay at Mariola Secreta as guests of the owners prior to its public opening and were blown away both with the gorgeous converted farmhouse and the surrounding area of the Sierra de Mariola natural park. The hosts couldn't be more accommodating, proving us with local knowledge of key points of interest nearby. I also thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to go out mountain biking in the beautiful natural park guided by Ben, one of the hosts. Looking forward to a return visit already!

We were very lucky to be invited to stay here prior to its official opening. Mariola Secreta is a truly wonderful place, nestled in the beauty of the national park. It provides a lovely 'home away from home' feeling (if considerably more luxurious) with ample space to enjoy the surroundings, either privately or in the communal areas to socialise with the other guests; a unique feature which is difficult to achieve with most hotels. Our hosts were very knowledgeable about the area and provided mountain bikes so we could explore further. We really enjoyed visiting Bocairent, Pou Clar and the Bodegas Enguera winery (wine tasting + bat watching!) Thank you for having us, we cannot wait to visit again. (P.S. If you meet Seb the cat he is very friendly and enjoys scratches under his chin!)
