Our experience being hosted after our long trek was a class act in hospitality. Alejandro and his wife are masters in their trade. At every stage they managed to make us feel special. You can tell they have had 25 successful years of running their hotel. Dinner was delicious, fresh and healthy after a week of eating oily food elsewhere in the Alpujurras. The room was clean, comfortable and is perfectly positioned with a balcony overlooking the mountains. Alejandro was so kind to let us hop in with him on his way to Cadiar so we could catch the bus. Thank you!

The kindest people run this hotel! They were so helpful and attentive. Oh, and you must eat dinner here - the food was the best I had on my trip to Spain! The views were absolutely gorgeous, too!

We actually stayed at one of the casitas next to the hotel but run by the same people. It was really nice with beautiful views and a great base to explore the area. Our kids loved the hotel pool too. A very, very pleasant stay. Thanks to Alejandro and his wife, whose name I could not pronounce. Both really friendly. I would definitely recommend.

The family run Hotel Los Bérchules is lit up by it’s warm and friendly staff effortlessly harbouring a fun and welcoming atmosphere.

The rooms are comfortable, with notably good showers and pitch black darkness through the night.

The food is exceptionally nutritious and delicious and ideal after a day walking in Sierra Nevada.

Not to forget that opening up the shutters at dawn to see the sun climb over the mountain tops makes for an incredible site.

After just a few nights it will feel more like a home than a hotel.

This is my favourite hotel in the world, and I've been in some top hotels in my travels. It's quite a feat to provide comfortable accommodation combined with that cozy friendly atmosphere that makes it feel like staying with good friends. Obviously I don't want you all to book the hotel up so we can't just drop in when we want to! I wish we could be there more often, it's so good.

A beautiful Place to Relax and get new Power. The Hotel is very clean and the Employees are very friendly and helpful. The kitchen is very good. The Chef gives his best to surprise his Guests everyday new.

Just back from a group walking holiday in Sierra Nevada, centre-based at Hotel Los Berchules. The hotel was great in every way..views from the bedroom window, friendliness of the owners and staff, attractiveness of the hotel decor, variety of food for both dinner and packed lunches and the general atmosphere of homeliness and hospitality from the moment we arrived. Many thanks to all members of the hotel family and staff who were certainly one of the highlights of the trip for me.

The beds are incredibly comfortable for a hotel in the mountain wilderness, and the service is incredible. Absolutely second to none. Highly recommended!!

Alejandros, his mum Wendy, his wife Czilla (pronounced "chiller") were so much fun. Czilla scurries around like a naughty schoolgirl, frantically busy and quiet, Wendy apparently speaks to her son in Spanish and only in English if she is angry! Wendy is a star in her own right, a diminutive lady of Irish extraction with wonderful cheek bones and low voice like an actor. She assures me she cannot sing and only has this voice through smoking - no sign of which thank goodness as I hate cigarettes. About 30 of us descended on them and I believe they had to enlist the assistance of nearby hotel staff to look after us all. Alejandros has really dry humour - scathing! (I love it). The food was amazing and done buffet style so you're not sitting there waiting anxiously while your neighbours wait for their food and yours gets cold.

Love this family run place

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in the middle of March while travelling around the South of Spain. The views are stunning, food is amazing (actually the best I had in Spain) and the owners Megan and Paula are charming. I didn’t hesitate to prolong my stay here for few more nights. Highly recommend staying here if you are somewhere around in the region!
