Centro de Interpretación Olivar y Aceite

Our group of 15 visited this beautiful old building to learn about olives. What a fabulous learning and participation experience. We were explained the many aspects of the olive industry from growing and harvesting to tasting and grading in a very clear and concise yet easily understood way. Our entire group was kept totally engaged and focused by the expert guide who was bursting with knowledge and passion for olives. If I am passing near this beautiful old village again I will definitely include another experiential visit.

Four of us booked the tasting class in English. It was excellent. The instructor gave a very informative talk on how olive oil is produced and then taught us to differentiate between virgin and extra virgin oils, early and late olives, different varieties etc. I will never buy cheap oil again! Highly recommended. 🫒 You need to book in advance.

Our group toured the museum, school and kitchen on our trip through Spain. Our teacher was extremely knowledgeable and we were very impressed with their school.

Popped in for a look around. Learned a lot about the process of cultivation and manufacture in a self guided tour. Tasted a range of oils and selected one to purchase to take home. Huge range, excellent quality. Very engaging and friendly staff.

Very interesting and worthwhile visit. English translation via our phones was great. Young gentleman on reception worked hard to make us welcome and explained everything. The shop is stacked with fresh local high quality olive oil.

We learned a lot about the rich history and production of olive oil in the region and were able to taste several of the oils on display. The young man on staff was very helpful and friendly and spoke excellent English.

This is the most memorable part of my recent trip to southern Spain. The center is a hidden gem with everything you need to know about olive oil. Our guide, Elena is superb! Knowledgeable, humorous and definitely passionate of olive oil! Must go place in Jaen!

Very good little museum and interpretation centre to give background on local olive production and the local economy. Super helpful staff spoke good English and there are downloads for the commentary boards.

An excellent opportunity to get to know quality caracteristcs of odor and taste of olive oil. Very nicely presented a variety of products related to olive oil. It is an example of highliting the uniquenes of olive oil in Mediterrenean region. It worths the visit!

Excellent visit puts olive oil on a different level with tasting, smelling the oils with videos in English and Andres being a good English speaking host there and takes time if you need to explain all. Highly recommended visit if in Úbeda .

We visited today and loved it. Very educational and interesting. Good explanations of the process both historic and modern with interpretation videos in Spanish and English. It also includes tastings of all the oils they sell and the shop is very reasonably priced with a good range of different products. The guide is also very nice and speaks perfect English. We really enjoyed it!

Learned about EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) at the small museum. There are interactive learning tools in English which I really liked. The store is very beautiful with a very big variety of EVOO, especially from picual olives. They are tasting counters for all the different oil bottles.

Excellent. A fantastic explanation in English of the production of olive oil, both past and present, and information on all the different qualities of the oil. Finally a tasting revealing a variety of smells and flavours of extra virgin olive oil. All for 3.50 euros. Very worthwhile.

The highlight of our trip to Ubeda! A wonderful resource run on behalf of local producers. Fantastic staff and excellent displays, all with QR codes to translate. We learned so much about the olive oil production that dominates the landscape and economy in this area, and about the oil itself, had a free tasting and purchased several varietals of EVOO from the comprehensive selection. Truly worth a journey. Entrance fee 3.50 euros. Thank you!

We learned SO much about olives and the olive oil industry. It was great to be able to sample so many delicious oils from the Jaén province. Andrés was super helpful and knowledgeable.

Loved this place! Great way to discover olive oils from the Region with the huge tasting selection. Also a quick but fun olive oil diorama; all very nice!
