Wonderful stay. Staff were all very nice. We had the best vegetarian dinner thus far on the Camino. Absolutely great food, service and atmosphere. Be sure to reserve breakfast the night before. They won’t be available if no one requests breakfast.

This is one of the highlights of my Camino. I am so glad I made Navarrete and Posada Ignatius a stop on my way. The house is beautifully redone, and you feel like how the Duke may have when he lived here. The rooms are comfortable and just what I need to rest. The staff is fantastic. I felt so pampered! It is in a great location in the town and just a quick drive or bus to Logroño. Highly recommend!

Authentic 500 year old hotel that is lovingly and tastefully restored in a beautiful pueblo along the Camino.
Make sure you go to their restaurant downstairs. It is a South American/Spanish fusion of exquisite flavours - artistically presented by very friendly bright staff. Not to be missed!!!

If you want an absolutely unique experience staying in a 14th century building this is the place to be. The rooms aren't luxurious, but are spacious, well appointed, comfortable and steeped in history. The building has a lot of quirkiness like time and use polished stone mosaic floor in the lobby and those unlevel stone steps are a marvel, and the loose floor tiles and wooden ceiling beams in an ancient building just rings all the bells for a charming little place that we were mesmerized with. We weren't ever able to eat at the restaurant because it seems to keep off hours from how we liked to eat and it was closed more often than it was open, but I suppose that's just my American expectation of a restaurant and their hours probably aren't unusual for Spain. We arrived before the check in time and the maid kindly helped us find our room and get settled. As mentioned they do not have full time desk staff but everyone who works there was always willing to help us when we needed it. The city of Navarette is such an interesting experience. It offers quiet solemnity in an ancient town with crumbling buildings and a very deep history. It was a memorable experience.

Fantastic place to stay while visiting Spain's Rioja region. This place is small but filled with comforts all wrapped in history. We had a room with a large comfortable bed and a very nice bathroom. Complimentary tea and coffee is in the lobby and there is a delightful upstairs terrace where you can enjoy the view and sunshine while comparing notes if any of the other guests come up to join you. Maybe even some who are doing the pilgrimage. Georgia was lovely and helpful, and the women who keep the place clean are gentle, the restaurant downstairs is top notch and their team are very kind. The town of Navarette is small but you can find a couple of grocers, restaurants, and sites to visit include the magnificent church and very good winery Bodegas Corral. We stayed for 3 nights but I could have stayed a lot longer.

Service was totally Ok but, as a "posada", it is very limited: only few hours availability of the reception desk and breakfast service starting at 9:00 am -and we left before that-.
The building is awesome: ancient building with wooden ceilings, weird corridors, lovely terrace...and an excellent restaurant that, unfortunately we were not able to taste as it is closed on sunday nights.
Rooms are very comfortable, but disparate: most have bathroom inside...some others need to share. There is also a lovely apartment for two with full kitchen aparells.

All together an excellent choice.

The booking and communication with this hotel was easy and very efficient. Some of the staff spoke very good English which was useful!
The hotel is conveniently close to the motorway in a charming, small, very Spanish town. With a few restaurants and traditional bars serving tapas.
The rooms at the hotel are small and basic but are very clean with beautiful, white fluffy towels and nice toiletries. The public areas are beautiful and have been very sympathetically restored.
The restaurant is in the old part of the building and is fascinating and beautiful. The staff are friendly and attentive but a menu del noche did not seem to be an option, instead we were encouraged to have the steak for two, which although impressive to look at, was very fatty or grisly which made this an expensive and disappointing option. However, the dessert the chocolate fondant was superb! Breakfast was good with freshly squeezed orange juice, scrambled eggs, tostada and croissants amongst the choices available, all again, served in the beautiful surroundings of the 15th century, restored wine cellars.
All in all a good stay with excellent staff in a good location.

While walking the Camino de Santiago, I was very fortunate to stay at Posada Ignatius. The hotel, originally home to a nobleman, is a structure steeped in history and recently, beautifully restored to its former glory days. There is even an old escape route in the basement, which leads to the town's church; this space has now been repurposed to the wine cellar. My room was gorgeous, with its own living room and fireplace. I enjoyed the breakfast but would have especially liked to eat dinner there because of its reputation of fine cuisine (unfortunately, they were closed that night.) The young chef from Columbia is making a name for himself and is aspiring to garner the next Michelin star. The hotel is in a caliber all of its own, worthy of a destination. Highly recommended!!

I absolutely did not want to leave this gem of a place! I actually said out loud that I wish we could take this one particular venue with us for the entire Camino. I loved the history and the look from the gorgeous images on the website, but to be there in person was beyond my wildest dreams. Danny was absolutely wonderful in every possible way. I had to move our reservation back a day because I got a really bad cold, and Danny was incredibly kind about it. Our room was utterly gorgeous and so very peaceful and calm. So much care and attention to detail was paid to everything from the exquisite bed linen, to the toiletries, and handcrafted furniture. The feeling was one of pure calm and bliss. There is also a gorgeous rooftop terrace to watch the sunrise and sunset from with a glass of wine. If they were not fully booked, we would have stayed another night just because of how wonderful it felt. I would definitely come back in a heartbeat. Wishing Danny and his wife the utmost success because they have truly poured heart and soul into every little detail. Thank you for a magnificent stay 🧡

This hotel and the meal were well worth the 25km on blistered feet on a very hot summers day with no relief from breezes and a pack on the back! The meal was delicious. Georgia and Anne welcoming, gracious and great sense of humour when dealing with heat stressed exhausted peligrimos.

If you are going to stay in the la rioja region or if you are walking El Camino, this is the place to stay! It's in Navarrete, just a short (10 mins) bus or cab ride away. This hotel has wonderfully modern amenities while keeping it's medieval appeal and history. Giorgia (one of the owners) speaks English like a native and was extremely helpful. She helped us schedule a taxi and get us a tasting at la Bodega Marques de Carceres. On top of all of that, she has a rich knowledge of wines and will help you choose a bottle to enjoy on their rooftop terrace with a view that cannot be beat.

We cannot thank Giorgia and her stay for an absolutely pleasurable stay and making our honeymoon, one to remember!

Amazing historic building, shared bathroom is spotless but they also have rooms with a private bathroom and an amazing roof terrace where you can see across the village and watch the sun set into the mountains.

This beautiful hotel is built from a 15th century palace. We were floored by the awesome service and the beauty of the place. It was a great and affordable break from Albergues for the night! Looking forward to coming back to stay again

I stayed over one night at Posada Ignatius while on a motorbike tour of Spain. I thought I'd treat myself to a night at this posada and it was well worth it. The building is really interesting and historic, while the owners are really nice and helpful. Highly recommended.
